Just want to say thank you to James for getting peer cover moving again - a bit late because I was offline - can confirm this seems to be nice service once working despite its Ripple overtones...
what is the current BTC/NxT price there ? Trying to figure that out. Apparently I need a wallet name ... Does an ID or DL need to be provided before using this service? The active orderbook on ripple is in NXT/XRP for now. Wow over 250,000 NXT active! The spread is bid 2.7, ask 2.8 XRP per NXT. Currently BTC is right around 30000 XRP, so 3 XRP = ~.0001 BTC this makes the effective spread .00009 vs .00009333 BTC, actually not that bad considering this is the first day and people are just starting to get used to the whole ripple thing and a lot of people are still in the process of funding their ripple wallets. Notice this is a significant premium over dgex so regardless of your feelings about ripple, you can get 15% more for your NXT on ripple. Unless you are millionaire and don't need extra 15%, it is usually worth a little extra effort to make that 15%. All you need is a ripple wallet, which doesn't require registration or anything, just a handle and password. just go to ripple.com and create wallet from the wallet link in upper right corner. Once you have a ripple acct, you will need 30 XRP to get going. This is ripple's answer to darkNXT, or in this case darkXRP. A account without minimum XRP can't be a destination for anything except XRP. Send me your ripple address and I will send you 30XRP. Now you can go to the simpleGateway (URL in my sig) and just follow directions for deposit, etc. After you are all setup, you can send me 10 NXT or the 30 XRP or even .001 BTC, whatever is easiest. James " Trust given: 0 NXT Peercover NXT balance: 10 NXT Can deposit up to -10 NXT." Wtf is that supposed to mean? I put in "-1000" now and I'm trying to send 1000 NXT to the given address, hope that works. (I'm not actually selling NXT I just wanted to know how ripple can help to trade around cryptocurrencies.)

The trust amount needs to match the amount you want to deposit. Actually the amount that will be in your account after you deposit. You can peek around the order book, etc. without having any NXT deposited James

Is there anyway to calculate total amount of darkNXT in existence?
Walk the blockchain, adding up the balances of accounts that don't have an assigned public key? But theoretically I can still send Nxt to an account without a public key, in an offline mode. But that is a good idea, I wonder if Blockchain Explorer can calculate easily. I would prefer that an API be built specifically for this, and that coinmarket cap use the figure of 1billion minus destroyed NXT - darkNXT for its market cap calcs

you mean some kind of checksum? Why not? 1) If recipient acc's empty, show warning. 2) Calculate sum of typed recipient acc's numbers, show it near typed numbers and then request it in another field to type by hand. If both correct (we're supposing something changes after clicking "Send" *magic ka-boom* and recipient's acc transfers into another, but handwritten checksum stays = incorrect), broadcast transaction. Something like this.

My suggestions:
a) @all frontend developer: please use finally an unified LOGO, COLORS and FONTS/CSS. As for all business... an corporate design is really important for value of brand recognition and trust!! Maybe the designers should use an unique thread for convention!
You should orientate on the style of info.nxtcrypto.org
The header logo of nxtcrypto.org changed again, why? The current (QTBC) one is an typographic horror!
b) @Admin of forums.nxtcrypto.org: Please find an more readable style as like nextcoin.org. Fonts and colors should be more user-friendly!! Maybe migrate to SMF in reason that the most of the crypto members are familiar with that board software. If you want more traffic on you board, do it. Especially now do you have the chance for get new members in reason of the barefaced business policy of DGEX.
c) @Designers: Someone should write an Corporate Design Manual!

DGEX sent my first exchange withdrawal to an incorrect NXT address. They were supposed to send to 12510982507347853737 (where they did send one withdrawal) but instead sent to 125109250734753737. The second address is empty in blockchain explorer except for my transaction so I'm guessing it is unused. Is there any way to get my NXT out of that account?
No. Gone. But not forever, in 10 years someone will pick the key. For that and for any other acc. So it's absolutely pointless to wait

So what kind of profit from fees is expected per 1k NXT.
Highly considering trading all my doge for NXT
~0.15% NXT on NXT per month with high dispersion. Until activity'll grow.

We are working on coordinating to where there is a common look between the info/www/forums sites. A different person manages each one, and they all have other full time jobs. The forums guy has been on vacation. We are working on it. For now can someone please try these modified links to force 2 different styles (other than the green one) https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/index.php?style=1&sid=a80e2a21db06a6e45ca56cbf4c456d59or https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/index.php?style=3&sid=a80e2a21db06a6e45ca56cbf4c456d59Id prefer to keep phpBB it is EXTREMELY more extensible and powerful

I feel like I foolishly bought some nxt because the nxt client really leaves a lot to be desired. I mean, I think it's awesome that it's not a clone of the bitcoin/litecoin wallet but it is totally flaky. It was a major pain to get it running because the 2 peers it came with never connected and it took me an hour to find a good peerlist. A better peerlist needs to be included in the official release. Also, opening a port in your router is not really part of the instructions and is an issue if this is ever really going to go mainstream. Also, I just tried a GPU miner for MemoryCoin on the computer with the NXT software. The GPU miner crashed my computer and it must have screwed up the blockchain files because I had issues with restarting it. Adding the port and kill password is an odd way to prevent this from happening. If you're not a techie, the learning curve is way to steep for mass adoption in my opinion.

It may very well be so at the moment, but I thought the Nxt guys never claimed it was ready for mass adoption at this stage?
Am I wrong?
And if you bought NXT early (so did I), it's probably because you believe it has potential, and you know there's a risk of failure as with most investments.
