does anybody know about mcjavar?

We were in the middle of a transaction, he sent me NXT, I sent BTC, he disappeared Sad
I hope he is just offline, but timing is a bit distressing.

I received 13K, so I sent the full 2BTC, expecting 20334 more NXT to arrive. His acct he sent it from is empty: 11433600460445633305

My BTC: 12UBzX8csUVpaPYya8aw7WWU8L3sQ6X6xo

Please send the 2 BTC to this address and I will deliver the other 20334 from my main account, but I want to make sure that you receive the first 13k..

P.S. I know I shouldn't have sent all 2BTC, but I had dealt with him before, never expected any funny business over 1.2 BTC We really need a safe place to trade NXT!
Did you use escrow?

No, I didn't think I had to. I have had nothing but positive experiences with all the NXT'ers. I sure hope this is just a false alarm

As i know, he is collecting funds (accepting donations) for a conference. Don't panic yet.

How much has been donated?

Hello friends,
Another question for my Nxtmyths video:

Who "works" for Nxt fulltime? Who spends on developing / PR / community helping 40-90 hours/week?

It's a full-time job keeping up with this thread.  Grin

Guys a dev question I hope someone knows. Since the client returns JSON for the API can I treat is as a JSON server? I have a JSON PHP client can anyone give me an example how to request this (http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getBalance&account=ACCOUNT)?

THANKS ALOT!

Will take me a while to climb up again, But where is a will, there is a way...

It's been over an hour since last PM and we were in middle of transaction. I will be offline for a while, so I can't update on this. mcjavar needs to post here to clear this up. I will confirm when I am back online. If he doesn't post, then donations made could be lost in addition to my 20K+ Sad

Yeah, we really need more convenient communication channels, some way to focus on just those posts and threads that we're interested in, instead of having to read through everything posted by everyone. Maybe move up the distributed forum in the to-do list for NXT features? And structure such a forum differently from the usual phpBB ones.

Or, if some generous founder could sponsor everyone to keep up with the thread, that'd be cool too  Grin

EDIT: Ouch, I'm sorry to hear that James.

Yes, but you have to explicitly handle the json since it doesn't return a proper content type for JSON ('application/json'):

Code:
$ curl -I http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getState
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate, private
Pragma: no-cache

Maybe he just fallen asleep,  it's 2:30 am where he is. Smiley
I wouldn't worry too much, it would be stupid of him to try to scam you, if I remember correctly, he is identifiable, he registered aliases with uri pointing at his personal website. (If it comes to that, I'll try to verify this info before posting.)

 Huh

Sure looks like it. He sent 2100 NXT to somewhere else, not to me. I only got 13K from him.

Sad day.

I will send back the 13K to people who have donated,no sense in half a dozen people having this bad feeling I have. I've already lost 120000 NXT, what's another 13K.

James

P.S. People will have to wait until I get back home. I can't run NRS on my laptop, so that would be end of this week.

NEWS

The last chance to claim unclaimed coins is over.

We have ~13M coins left and they'll be spent for rewards, bounties and development. Now we are running a reward program. I ask the community to post here links (with short description and link to BTT profile) to projects/persons that helped to promote Nxt. Only projects launched before the 3rd of Jan can apply. There will be several categories, BCNext will choose 3 best participants from each category. I'll contact project owners via BTT personal message to get Nxt account ids for reward payments. The 1st place will receive 50'000, 2nd - 30'000 and 3rd - 20'000 NXT.

you should just hold off for a little bit until its known for sure what happened.

Since maybe he did just get tired and fell asleep or something  Tongue and continue with the transaction later.

OK. It could be simply that he fell asleep in the middle of a $1000+ transaction. He needed to convert the NXT to BTC so he could cash it in for travel expenses.

In any case, I can't send any NXT until Thursday or Friday. By then this will all be resolved, hopefully happily.

This is good news! It means he was just converting the donated NXT to BTC and using the donation acct. I just freaked out when the acct was 0 NXT, all empty. If he has a different big acct, then all should be well.

Getting too tired. I hope to read good news in the morning!
