Whenever the price starts to climb bac, there is always something happening around dgex, like this "banning" bug Time to be less dependent on graviton. First step is to switch forums. Just stop posting on nextcoin and use nxtcrypto instead. btw: It is working for me (although I am always logged in) Log out. And never log back in. Use http://forums.nxtcrypto.org

nextcoin.org, Assistant mod seems to have banned with IP wildcard, affecting valid members.
I'm rectifying this.

Unless we have a decentralized forum, having two boards is good. But please, only use forums.nxtcrypto.org now

I post a few days ago in nexcoin.org that aws.amazon.com cloud gives 1 year free micro t1 VPS I have a windows one free and now I added onepaid both with slightly more than 600mb ram. It seems that the nxt nodes run ok on them. I don't have them hallmarked but I thought we run as many like them as we could to support the stability.
It costs 0 for 1 year. Go make accounts in aws.amazon.com and set up a VPS with nxt node. You need to modify the web.xml <param-name>myAddress</param-name> <param-value>PUT THE VPS IP HERE</param-value>
Don't put money to fogrge just run nxt client.
Just running nxt node (client) with 0 nxt in it will help the stability right?? or am I confused again!!!!
Would be great if you could write up a guide on getting people up and running on AWS. Windows and Linux. Bai, I signed up and I'm at my console home page. How do I set up a VPS? Do I launch an EC2 instance? Which flavor (linux, windows) of Amazon Machine Image should I choose? Also, has anyone confirmed that this will help nxt network stability? Why am I doing this when I can't even get my client to run properly? I will do Windows set instructions later on tonight. I am with a customer at the moment and cannt do any work on NXT!! Would be nice if some of the leaders/genii can confirm that this will help the stability of the newtork else its waste of time.

A simple explanation can be found in this thread. Theres a discussion if this approach is decentralized or not, the dev says it is: "Hazard is correct. Mixing systems require a trusted entity to function. There is no possible way for a client to figure out receiving addresses, while still having them remain anonymous. The protocol we are developing aims to move some of the functions of a mixing system onto the block chain. This addresses several concerns that face mixing services, a few of which were outlined in the original post. The protocol will be in the public domain, of course. People will be able to set up their own mixing services. So it is incorrect to say that it is centralized and that I control it. The protocol can be adapted for many different types of applications. For example, it can easily be adapted for use in anonymous P2P messaging/broadcasting system. We're currently investigating all these different uses for it." Thank u. I'm going to dig deeper into this.

Hi', you lot. Running the nxt client & thought I'd try to forge some coins.
Got 6000 confirmations & beginning to wonder how these translate into coins?
Feel a bit like Thick Mick McThick having to ask this question but I'm stumped.

Closure On The EpicThomas Attack Of 31 Dec 2013OK, time for EpicThomas restitution distribution. EpicThomas has sent 47,960 NXT to my account 16092180239932658439 as a restitution payment for NXT lost in his hack attack of December 31. From the previous charity distribution described at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg4275210#msg4275210 this is the split applied: Framewood: 35.16% plasticAiredals: 6.56% newcn: 6.39% sparta_cuss: 51.89% So I have transfered: 47960*0.3516 = 16863 to Framewood's 11516574435181434547 47960*0.0656 = 03146 sent to PlasticAiredale's 17139321135754562770 47960*0.0639 = 03065 sent to newcn's 13187911577562526278 47960*0.5189 = 24886 sent to Sparta-cuss's 14748981975238803545 These actions can be verified via the block explorer at http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=34 . Between charity and restitution payments, these four individuals have now recovered just shy of 30% of their losses. There still remains doubt over whether the bandit accounts associated with this heist contain stolen NXT or darkNXT. Furthermore, the sentiment in the NXT general forum seems to be that EpicThomas paying a restitution of 47,960 NXT balances the scales of justice for his crime of distributing infected NXT clients on December 31, 2013. Accordingly, I consider the matter of EpicThomas to be closed and I will take no further actions regarding him. Thanks for all your work rickyjames. The matter may be closed, but EpicThomas better not get too comfortable, as I don't think it will be forgotten anytime soon.

Yes. U may find a phrase that opens the genesis account. If u send money to such the account it will be destroyed.

Where the guy who was going to create a decentralized poker game? With AM it becomes possible.
I don't know why there was no noise about that! Decentralized poker game is something that may skyrocket NXT. Poker players have been waiting for this for ages! There have always been accusations of rigged software(rigged random generator) and also with decetralization the rake(that's how fees are called in poker) would be much smaller! Have in mind that rake in cash games is about 8-10bb per 100 hands. Best players earn 1-2bb per 100 hands. So, if rake falls only with 20-30%, poker players would earn twice more (or lose less for some). Would be soooo gooood for nxt!

At least I think I've figured out the real reason why they resit checksums: it should have been a design decision, but somebody screwed up and now it looks too costly to fix, because everything is tied up in BigInt. Am I right? Well, consider the fact that the cost of fixing grows with every passing minute. I don't know the details of the system, but here's an idea: at some point you are converting some random string into bigint to get the account number, right? Convert it so as to get 56 bits instead of 64. Then append 4 bytes of CRC32 or 4 last bytes of MD5. After that no changes are required, except when accepting the transaction. Then you take the address and verify the checksum. If I am way off, figure out a way yourself, I am sure between 3 of you, you have more than enough brainpower to do so... Sorry to sound harsh, but this is beyond ridiculous at this point. By the way, anybody else seen these ads here?

I don't think anyone resisting a safeguard to avoid costly mistakes. It is just a matter of How and When.

He made the coinflip game for NXT. It just takes times to make an appropriate game. I surely would welcome more people developing poker games. BTW, poker is the second most expensive alias to register so far. Someone is going to make sure that money well spent.

Oh I hope so, I really do... But so far all I've seen are some nonsensical "arguments" about performance and stuff. And time is not our friend on this critical issue.

I didn't even metion that there are countries where poker is restricted, and other where you pay huge taxes! p.s. And ye, Omaha's rake is insane, especially in French sites!
