Is it good or bad for the crypto-community?

Hard to say - mostly it shows that things are heating up and the competition to be the "next generation" is already taking its toll.

Hopefully Nxt will have the staying power!

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

I made a thread in nextcoin.org to post the most important and valuable info from this thread as many ppl can't follow everything here.
Please use an uncensored forum: forums.nxtcrypto.org

I wasn't sure if such a thread would be useful so i asked Graviton what he thinks and he said it will be useful. I think Graviton saw ppl's reaction and will answer their expetations from now on.
@utopianfuture has already made progress-tracking threads so i will add important info from those threads as well. I hope this thread becomes something like a place for quick updates https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,2775.0.html
I may create the same in forums.nxtcrypto.org if it works well.

A lot of people only go to nxtcrypto.org

A public forum should not have to worry about not offending the forum owner's other business interests. It has been made clear that any posts that mention dgex in a negative light will be suspended, removed, etc, even if the "negative light" is factual. It has all been justified as anything that is in business interest of graviton is fair game. It is his exchange, is forum, so fine, he can make his own rules. However, knowing this we need to have a place that we can trust won't censor things.

For example, if your posts includes info about new exchanges, there is a strong likelyhood that the entire thread will be suspended as happened with the peercover thread on nextcoin.org

Graviton, I am not attacking you. I am only repeating what you have stated. Running a forum that has the constraint of not saying anything negative about dgex, does not make it an unbiased forum that can be freely used. Please consider making nextcoin.org truly independent. I doubt you are making much money from it. Information needs to flow freely. You have helped the NXT community and the NXT community has helped you. As one of the largest NXT holders, you should be thinking LONG TERM about the value of NXT.

You have lost 800K of NXT, probably recovered a couple hundred thousand from the fees. However, 95% of trading volume is gone. Even with Asset Exchange on the horizon, we still need ways to trade NXT, especially for people without NXT. Wouldn't it make more sense to truly become part of the NXT community, instead of your current arms-length position?

Remove all censorship from nextcoin.org
Change withdrawal fee to 1 NXT and .0001 BTC on dgex and make money with a per trade commission AND forging revenues on 70 million NXT.

Don't make it look like you put the withdrawal fees so you can trap the NXT and collect the large transaction fees from the Asset Exchange launch. Don't you already have enough NXT? Why do you need to keep grabbing for more? How many bounties have you given out? Not attacking, just trying to get you to understand where the community's feelings are coming from.

These are my recommendations.

James

Isildur23 got 5k bounty from me for gathering info about current projects that need support. This is what we already have. Please correct, expand it. I'm going to post polished version in new topic
AliasAccountprojectlinksnotes
Jean-LucHuhNxt wallethttp://download.nxtcrypto.org/
To clarify this, I am working on the core of the Nxt server as a lead developer. There is no such thing as Nxt wallet. Currently the server package also includes the javascript client, but when we get a native or alternative client this part will be removed and I will continue to work on the Java based sever core only.

I am not asking for bounties, this is why I don't want to put my Nxt account number there. If somebody really wants to send me a personal thank you for my work, there is a bitcoin address in my profile. But don't include me when figuring out how to distribute bounty funds.

The lead developer of Nxt is only accepting BTC as "thank you"? Smiley Smiley

I think we need to open some threads based on functionality instead of another thread when everything stays in the same place which  is the same as this original thread.
We should have at least three more threads like this:

1. NXT full feature clients - progress tracking thread  -- thread created here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412138.0

2. NXT security and user interface improvement - progress tracking thread rickyjames will take care of it

3. NXT arbitrary message and mobile application - progress tracking thread landomata do you want to take care of this thread ? please add Cfb's bounty for arbitrary message application there

There threads will run parallel with the main thread here and the NXT source  code report here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397183.0

This will at least bring some organization to grass-root development we have here.

I already prepare materials to open the NXT full feature clients - progress tracking thread which will then be linked to nextcoin and nxtcrypto forum so all specific updates regarding full feature client can go there.

Someone should do the same for other thread and keep them updated.

4. NXT marketing & promotion?  salsacz will take care of it

YES.

This is the thread I did for the full feature clients https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412138.0. I am going to track down nexern, macrus3 and benmanga and makethem update there occasionally. The Nxt source code flaw thread has been very successful.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397183.0

We will have several threads like that running parallel with the main thread.

I speak German. It's only a poker forum, which has nothing to do with cryptocurrency. There is a thread about Bitcoin. But well, it isn't worth giving a bounty for that. Or else everyone could post NXT to a big forum and get NXT for that.

I would like to make a few of observations from the point of view of Bitcoin (and perhaps Litecoin) investors who have recently taken an interest in Nxt.

1) This project is being managed and run quite well - you guys are delivering results and improving the code constantly - this is creating a lot of interest.

2) Don't worry so much about all the "bells and whistles" now - get the basic stuff working solidly and keep to strict plans - nothing better than a project that runs smoothly and improves constantly.

3) "The revolution will not be centralised" - stick to this and keep the bounties going for small projects that help do this and help get the initial NXT spread around more.

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

someone could organize a tournament where the pot is 100,000 Nxt or something...would give good publicity.
