Cautionary Tale: I messed up. Big time. Please don’t pile on harder as I’m already sick to my stomach.

NEVER EXPOSE YOUR BTC KEYS/Seed to an forked wallet.

Two days ago, I attempted to split my BTC Diamond and BTC Private. I could not get it.

At some point, I exposed my Ledger Nano with my BTC on it, to each of their Electrum Wallets.

Last night, my wallet was emptied of ALL my BTC, 13+ coins.

Here is the transaction.

Transaction Identifier: d96a7dcd9775456e36938ed2cb84e9d0cac46fad14b8c95008ed77d08f9f8de6

Went to: 3LsvHPBGuEVLZZDUiUuNdNi33T7zmTBC7o

Here’s a signed message so you know I HAD controller of the wallet.
I’m not scamming, just utterly sick to my stomach for losing 13+ BTC.

It appears that I have now lost my entire life savings. I’m not begging for a handout but rather attempting to warn anyone new to the space. I’m sick to my stomach with the loss and my only hope is to gain the attention of the culprit.

If you have any space in your heart, please return the BTC. I’d accept a fraction of what was stolen. Please don’t completely bankrupt me.
this is really sad i hope other people will learn from this because its not really good to keep large amount in one wallet. you must split it in diffirent wallet you can also keep small amount in different exchange. so if the wallet or exchange is gone that will only a small lose ..

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

It is very devastating, when you lose 13 BTC. I think that we need to be more careful holding our coins. As hackers creating trouble all over the world, they have stolen a lot of money over the past few years and they would continue to do so in future too.

I feel sorry for you. The good thing on crypto is, nobody can steal or take your money, if your private keys are really secret. The bad thing on crypto is, if someone stole your keys or if you lost your keys.

Don't expect that they will give you even a fracyion of it because humans are holistic in nature. Better to forget your problem and move on so that you can have more opportunities that will come on your way. Anyway, I am truly sorry for the loss but just think of it as a minor setback for a major comeback.

Its unfortunate that we repeat the same mistakes over and over again which leads to loss making, we cant do much about your loss but if it was your fault then don't cry, the amount lost is way too high to be lost out of carelessness.

I'm really really sorry for your loss, 13BTC is a very big amount. hope you can let it go and face the future as usual again.

How could this happen? very sad. You have lost 13 btc in an instant. Whoever takes it, he will not want to return it. It will be a lesson for all of us to always be careful. It's important to keep your password and private key in crypto coins. Whatever it is, it is information that should not be shared with anyone.

There been a lot unfortunate stories like this so I hope that everyone (me included) have learned something about this. Trust is such a big word in this industry and its meaning has been overextended so many times. Whether it is just simple trust in investing or trusting in mining bitcoins, you should know best where you put that trust on.

This is your fault  . As a bitcoin user you should know
What problem can happen with it.  13 btc is not a joke, which  you lost.
So now as soon as possible  make  a strong  and secure  wallet and computer  system  where  you store your earnings and make a safe transaction.  There are so many hackers to stole your coins.

This is a very painful way to learn that sometimes, things are too good to be true. This is so tragic and I have heard similar stories like this but it is unfortunate to read them. I hope you are in better shape now and hopefully you can back to this industry soon. I learned to be more careful and cautious now and I will hope that this things won't happen to me because I really won't know what to do.

Well, that's against the wise method of handling crypto savings. I do see very rare chances of getting your funds back because there are the crypto users not the member of Bitcointalk and since the funds have moved from the wallet couple times, I don't expect integrity from the receiver. As we all know that crypto is all about self-responsibility, one should never underestimate even a minor mistake. I am sorry for the loss of OP but there is nothing that he can do to recover his funds. I would recommend keeping posting this case on maximum crypto related platforms and that might be the only way to grab the attention of the receiver or on the other hand, it will help other crypto users out there to secure their funds.

As an additional warning to those that are new to the space...

If the amount of value that you are holding in crypto is such that you would be devastated if you lost it all, then you are holding too much value in crypto.

These are experimental, volatile, and risky protocols.  Do not risk your mental and emotional well-being.

This is precisely why we need crypto regulated in order to protect us from any unauthorized transactions.

Why did you keep all your life savings in BTC? I really don't get it. Unfortunately the only thing that you can do now is analyse your actions step by step to find out which software has been compromised. You either have a trojan on your computer or downloaded fake wallets that had a backdoor allowing the hacker to get your keys.
The money is gone either way, calm down, have some alcohol or try to get some sleep. The sooner you get over it the better for your health.
It is a really unfortunate situation, most probably he tried to extract the fork coins using the private keys keeping the bitcoin in the wallet and that is the biggest mistake he did, we have discussed about extracting the new coins and how to do it safely, the risk of using your private key with the coins in it is the most damaging thing you can do. I am not even sure who is behind BTC Diamond and BTC Private and i have not extracted anything till now, the only coin i moved is BCH and that too first moving my bitcoin to another wallet and that is the safest way.

But then again we cannot blame the beholder that loss a 13 bitcoins , the only thing we can blame is his action to the beholder i suggest and put on your mind that downloading some software that is not totally a hundred percent safe try to conduct some reviews though , and now instead of getting depressed , move on and keep looking forward.

If I lost hundreds of bitcoin I don't know what will happen to me. Better do not put all your bitcoins in one wallet.
