Made a new version of my logo for fun. What features are better or worse about this one (is the border better or worse, which gold tone should I use, what background should I be going for, should I leave the grains hollow with a border or fill them in more, etc.)?

Old

New

I started mining this coin yesterday. Even if though it's not on an exchange, it's still fun. I'll keep at it for now.

I would vote for this one also:

Maybe a plain, simple alternate for use when that resolution is not available.

Yeah, my second design (logo #1) was nowhere near done. Hopefully I can get people to start giving feedback to improve it. I'm beginning to think people mainly like the center design of the original logo I found (basis for logo #2) over my simple 3 grain design. If that's the case, maybe in the future we can combine my new design and logo #2 to make the best logo ever lol.

Thanks. I'll not pretend I know what I'm doing, I'm just playing around in Photoshop until I like what I see lol. I really have no idea/inspiration for a background (do I want a texture? a color? dunno). I think if I can get the colors down (the right tone of gold, the right background, etc.) that it'll be liked much more than my current design. Props to Probeer once again though, glad someone was able to make something good from that previous design (and at a much faster pace than me lol).

I'm a graphic designer. I would like to create a logo for GRA  Grin
but I guess, I'm a bit late here.

So I've voted for 2!

Will Grain have it's own forum at some point? Or is it just too early for that? Would be nice to get the info/read discussions from an easier source than digging it up on bitcointalk.
