Jollyburner, thanks a lot for community support. Yes I will release a new client with new and latest checkpoints.

I will do it once most people are on the right blockchain.

yes I think wat happens is if you didn't log in for awhile a lot (or all) of your coins go through the stake generating process. I saw it earlier when I reloaded my wallet, a lot of my balance went into stake, then all moved over to balance.

if your coins show up in stake its just cause they are generating stakes for you for a bit, then they hop back into your balance.

As i just loaded 1.1 and dint do anything else.. i think that seems to be enough to sync to the right chain

This is the pos block. When a pos block generated, it took those coins in the balance, that contributed to the generation of this block (by its "coin-day"), it remove their coin-days (reset to 0), then put them in "stake" (thus subtract from your balance), also add some "interests" to the "stake" (so the amount in "stake" will be greater than what is subtracted from the "balance"). The coins in "stake" will then "mature" as it did in the PoW mined blocks. After they are "matured", the total will be moved back to "balance", so they can be spent.

Yes 1.1 should work now. In case you stuck at the old chain, you need to remove the blockchain files and sync from scratch, and it should work.

To remove the blockchain files, go to conf dir (AppData/Roaming/Grain), make a backup of wallet.dat, remove everything in the dir EXCEPT wallet.dat and grain.conf if you have, again DO NOT remove wallet.dat. Then start the qt client, you should start sync from scratch.

I have a question about how the coin calculates its changing reward structure.

if

mining payout will be halved every 90 days (259200 blocks)

when I look at blockchain its giving blocks # to PoS, so does this mean PoS blocks count towards this? or is it calculating it independently, and how to see when this change is approaching? (reward halved to 512-1024 grains)

also does this affect total coins generated in the same way? ( I assume not)

No, the 0.0003 is the PoS diff you see. PoW diff does not go that low.
If you have a miner running (such as cgminer), it displays only the PoW diff.

The halves apply only to PoW blocks. The PoS block is calculated from "coin-day" you have and is fixed at 5% annual rate, it won't be halved.

so is there any way to know how many PoW blocks are currently generated? so we know when it will half? I know its a ways off im jw how it all works.

if I look at block then its only saying the total between both types.

also wow @ difficulty 1.3 right now

where is the mining? some solo guys?
