Sorry for the noob question, but I can't seem to build headless in Ubuntu Saucy.
Using make -f makefile.unix gives an error after some time. Any ideas or is there a linux binary?

But I don't know how to upgrade to 1.1 without loosing my existing coins.
Can someone please explain it to me like I am a two year old
Thanks in advance!

Just spotted this. Downloaded client, and pool mining away already. I know I'm a n00b but have posted in the giveaway thread anyways if you feel like honouring it. You'll certainly be seeing more of me in this and other threads in coming months ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

can someone please tell me how to upgrade to version 1.1 without losing the coins I have already mined. Thanks in advance ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Just download version 1.1 and run it, it should sync with your existing wallet, and nothing will be lost. But of course you should always make a backup of your wallet file (wallet.dat in your c:/users/**yourcomputername**/AppData/Roaming/Grain dir if you use the default directory). Thanks for that. Doesn't work when I use: make -f makefile.unix -lstdc++
Not sure where in the makefile to put it either.
I'd put it in the makefile, append it to the LIBS variable: LIBS += \ -Wl,-B$(LMODE) \ -l boost_system$(BOOST_LIB_SUFFIX) \ -l boost_filesystem$(BOOST_LIB_SUFFIX) \ -l boost_program_options$(BOOST_LIB_SUFFIX) \ -l boost_thread$(BOOST_LIB_SUFFIX) \ -l db_cxx$(BDB_LIB_SUFFIX) \ -l ssl \ -l crypto \ -l stdc++ anyone compiled with unix please help. I did not compile on unix, I don't have a unix.

Was anyone else getting a stack of rejects from http://grain.altminers.com recently? I was mining fine for hours then noticed nearly 100% rejects for about 30-60 mins recently. Seems to have sorted itself out now though. The round info on the dashboard was suggesting I wasn't the only getting loads.

Hi. My Name is Pascal Parvex (you may Google it to find my landline number on parvexfilm.com (below)) and i am quite new to this forum. So, I would like to buy Graincoins for up to 0.1 Bitcoins, as I can't mine them with my current rig. As I can't stay always up to date with this thread, e-mail your offers to pascal.parvex@gmail.com. My main e-mail address pascal@parvexfilm.com is rather slow and does not work for everybody, which means, that for example, MtGox e-mails don't come trough...So better use the first one. I propose that the seller sends half of the Graincoins first, I then send the whole amount of Bitcoins, and the seller then the remaining amount of Graincoins. I bought into about a dozen virtual currencies, so this should work best.

OK, I have a question .. perhaps not specifically related to GRA, but it is a nice example.
Grain seems to have good support, active devs, rumours of cryptsy, etc. Seems all good.
So here's my question .. What / who decides the value (in btc/ltc) of an altcoin when traded on the forum, and more so, when hitting the first exchange? The amount of coins, mining speed, difficulty? Or just the guy that runs cryptsy?

Hi Pascal, how much GRA are you looking to buy with 0.1 BTC?
Well, in the early stages I bought 80'000 Applecoins, which has a total of 50 Million, for 0.1 Bitcoins. So, as Graincoin has a total of one thousand times more, I am expecting to get something around 10 to 50 Million Grain...

Nobody in their right mind would give you 10 million GRA for $50... That probably doesn't even cover electricity costs...

So, what would be fair? I don't know how fast Grain is to mine, but those Applecoins are also Scrypt.
