it is a free community. You can do whatever you want. Graincon might not be worth much, but I just like solo mining on it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=604677Warning: grain may be consuming a heap of bandwidth. See the above thread. Both grain and mintcoin were blasting my link when I disabled them a few days ago; I don't know which one was consuming more overall, just that they were both going crazy.

Hi, Graincoiners.
It's been a long time since I last posted here. Unfortunately, in March and beginning of April I had no time for all this crypto things. When I got some spare minutes I found that bosian is gone. I tried to contact him with PM and skype for a month already to no avail. Also, I was told by the man who had some business with bosian that he also could not get in touch. At the same time I monitored this thread for last three weeks and taking to account that my node has connections I understand that some adepts of Grain are still around.
Many of you could remember that I did a fix to the Grain wallet that was related to bonus blocks harvesting, so you might have some proof of my skills. I looked into the problem with PoW difficulty as I want to PoW-mine Grains and found the solution, so I am ready to release the fix.
The fix will cause a hard fork so all important public services should be notified in advance. ATM we have three exchanges and one payment processor (may be more services, I need to check the list at the OP).
Also, I got a positive response from the current Grain domains owner regarding buying back these domains so we could keep the sites alive as well.
I am not strong enough (better to say not at all) in marketing, but I see that Turbosx50 is ready to care about this part.
Taking all said above do you want me to take over the Grain and become its major developer?
bee7.
P.S. @almightyruler: I believe that the high traffic volume is related to the very low PoW difficulty atm and the PoW problem to be fixed.
@BitcoinNational: What did you do useful for crypto coins community for all your time on this forum apart from posting shit about the coins you don't like? This is a rethorical question.
@ofeefee: the ABE block explorer code need to be fixed as it does not support the unique feature of Grain coin (the bonus block reward that is send as a second coinbase tx in the next block). I am looking into the possibility to fix it or to use alternative implementations.

It would be great when you overtake this coin, but I think there is minimum some big Problems. The biggest one seems to be a big fork. My Wallet sync speed slows extrely down at the beginning of May. At the End it needs several hours to sync one block. So i deleted every thing except the wallet.dat. Now the wallet syncs, bur all my graincoins are gone i have onla 6.44 GRa left instead of several millions. And whats i really don´t understand, all the big transactions are shown correctly and confirmed in the transactinlist ao the wallet, when i add all this my millons should be shown in my balance or as stake but all i see are 6.44GRA. Also a Problem is, that i can´t find a working block explorer or a working Pool. Sorry i can´t help you to develop something for the coin. I am not experienced enough in programming or web design (homepage needs to polished). But when you overtake the coin and fix the Problems, i will pump it a little bit without a dump.

What block number your wallet reports presently? At the moment my Wallet shows 475893 blocks of total 584776 Blocks downloaded. When i noticed the Problem the first time the wallet shows 475111 blocks downloaded. I Also tried to send 6000000GRA to coined up at 6th May but they never arrived although i get 781 confimation until now. The TXID is: 86e772c87c27e37c76c65e02a470efee37a47ec39c0250e8fef686c964c63980 To adress 9Bcg5UXsw7b5MYQDwwknU91NoKLejQaUGU

I have no problems to send to both coinedup and www.swisscex.com. The www.allcrypt.com reports that daemon is under maintenance. Try these nodes (please share the current output of getpeerinfo command before the configuration change): addnode=139.30.170.237 addnode=2.248.164.206 addnode=162.243.98.174 addnode=24.107.155.164 addnode=89.110.148.247 addnode=216.40.70.98 addnode=83.81.97.1
I am working presently on patching the wallet to leveldb and creating a blockchain bootstrap file without orphans as it looks like it should be 2 times smaller without orphans. These two things do not require any hardforking of the chain and I am going release them regardless of any community decisions.

How long did it take to get from 475111 to 475893? When testing another coin I noticed that once the client forked, syncing slowed to a glacial rate (to advance a single block may have taken up to half a minute) and in the meantime the client was going crazy trying to resolve the fork (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=604677 ) If your client is also similarly slow you may need to delete the blockchain db and start over. As a bonus this should relink all of your mined coins. edit: I cannot see txid 86e772c87c27e37c76c65e02a470efee37a47ec39c0250e8fef686c964c63980 which lends credence to the possibility of you having forked. Try in the debug console: getblockhash 475893Hash value for block 475893 is c1e9f16f39ae96a14000d0c4300992454ee9ef752d937cfe1141cb0f18cce797 at this end. If your value is different, you are forked (or I am!)

me either. Try in the debug console: getblockhash 475893
Hash value for block 475893 is c1e9f16f39ae96a14000d0c4300992454ee9ef752d937cfe1141cb0f18cce797 at this end. If your value is different, you are forked (or I am!)
six nodes I listed above plus my own agree that block at height 475893 is c1e9f16f39ae96a14000d0c4300992454ee9ef752d937cfe1141cb0f18cce797. Edit: @almightyruler: do you have any objections to my proposal?

If your value is different, you are forked (or I am!) It takes nearly 2 weeks to get from block 475111 to 475893. I also thought that i have a fork and so i already reload the complete blockchain, and in the end all my coins where gone except 6.44. But i will try it again with the new nodes from bee7. Sorry bee7, it looks like there was a powerfailure or something like that when i was at work. When i came home my computer was turned off and i can´t restart the wallet with my blockchain db. I tried to start with -reindex and get this: grain-qt: src/kernel.cpp:395: unsigned int GetStakeModifierChecksum(const CBlockIndex*): Zusicherung »pindex->pprev || pindex->GetBlockHash() == (!fTestNet ? hashGenesisBlock : hashGenesisBlockTestNet)« nicht erfüllt. Abgebrochen so i can´t test "getblockhash" and also can´t give you the output of "getpeerinfo". So i start to dowload the blockchain again. At the moment i have 52% completed and a lot of already confirmed transactions, but nothing happend at my balance. Balance, stake and unconfirmed stay all together at 0,00.

What's up with this coin? Does anyone have some grand plan in the works? I am still holding some. I would like to see someone come with some kind of creative idea for this coin to get it up and moving. That would be cool to.see.
Dev, what your plan? Time to pull a rabbit out of the hat before there is no more hat.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=186785Here is the link to my trust settings here on forum. This trust system is very unfair. I make good on every deal Ive ever made. I had many, many deals as you can see and I never scammed anyone. All it takes is a random account to give you negative trust and youre screwed. Tomatocage has never even talked to me ever but when the random acct hit me with negative trust, Tomatocage came right behind him and marked neg trust again so obviously he was the one who did it. You can look at Tomatocage trust and see how many of his compeditors at the currency exchange thread he labeled scammers. I never scammed anyone. My trust was green over 20 before this. I hope it never happens to you because the mods cant help you.

Grain has gone down to place 261 on coinmarketcap and there are only 278 coins on there. Unless someone comes up with some new ideas it will end out right at the bottom.

Once you are fully synced, try running repairwallet in the debug console. If that doesn't work, try the -rescan commandline option. Note that if your tx was orphaned due to a fork it is likely that coins you mined were also on that (invalid) fork. You won't be able to use those once you are back on the correct chain.

I have no rabbit. As I mentioned I see a few problems with implementation and its fixing requires a hard fork. I don't want to go alone with it. To the moment I see only one reply that it will be good if I take over the coin. This is not enough to be sure that my efforts will be useful. I also said that I am not good with marketing. Yes, I can handle the technical things like keeping the exchanges and other services timely informed on wallet updates. But I have to rely on community support in development in a wide meaning of this term. So, I ask again: are we ready to do something together?
