Sent 80k from cryptsy to BTER earlier this morning, its been about 5 hours +. Is this normal or are my coins gone?
Check your transaction history in your wallet.  Right click on the transaction-->Show Transaction Details-->copy the TXID and check it at dogechain.info.

Are you sure you sent it to the correct address?  Also at BTER click on the sync link.

What is true value?

He is basing it on being directly proportional to Feathercoin.

Honestly, it's value is what ever people value it at.

If you have a lot of blocks and a slower machine it can take a very long time.  I put a wallet on my old laptop the other day and it took almost 3 hours to sync.
