All coins go down at the weekend. People buying them up for cheap, ready to dump during the week.
The problem with this coin is there is going to 500 billion of them, it's going down to 1. IMO that's one of its virtues. There will be plenty of coins for everybody to have a few thousands. People like having 10k of something rather than 0.0001 of something else, even if the value is the same. It's not the same to say: hey, I got 0.05 BTC in my wallet as: hey, I got 100k DOGE. Psychology is an important factor here, as most people are driven by feelings and emotions. |

Welp, I admittly was close to cashing out but I decided to wait until the next rewards halving. Seems so far away.  It's quite profitable to mine atm. Don't get pissed at people who is mining it for profit though. Buy more dogecoin if you think the price is truly too low. Infact hope for more people to mine, the more that mine then more expensive it is to mine -> it's worth more. Also quite none can predict where the value would go. Maybe it picks up, maybe it turns out to be a short fad. Sometimes I think people only make predictions to be able to go back and say that they were right for brownie points, when it was a wild guess to start with.  Personally I'd think that most altcoins don't really have much actual use other than pure speculation, but they're still fun to mine and use. when is the rewards halving supposed to come? thanks! |

When the number of blocks in the chain reaches 100 000 (so far we have mined a bit over 23K blocks). This should happen roughly 52 days from now.
Due to the nature of how difficulty calculation vs the hashrate works, it tend to be a bit on the sooner than later side. A sudden spike in hashrate will produce a lot of blocks before the difficulty can retarget.

Hail to the doge-movement. Wow wow! Thx for the doge windows client v1.2 - but it crashes on Windows 7 when I try: importprivkey aprivatewuffkeyofapaperwalletforxmas in the console. So how can I give paper wallets to my family when we cannot import them later? Please someone with Qt abilities help our great windows client programmer. Enjoy your holidays |

Enjoy your holidays It can take up to 3-5 minutes to importprivkey. I did 4 yesterday and it it averaged about 3 min. per key. The one with the most doge took almost 5. |

I get the feeling people will stop mining soon.
Take a look at coinwarz, it is pretty far down the list now. It is definitely not the most profitable coin to mine. Plus as buyers begin to dwindle and they have trouble selling coins...I really don't think they will continue much longer.
With everyone saying the coin is dead and with it not being profitable...miners should move on sooner than later. We may not even have to wait until halved block rewards to see a spike.
Also, take a look at the sales. The sales coming out are at 20k or less in volume. Meaning I doubt any investor or Doge enthusiast is selling at the moment, it is ALL miners. So if someone tells you people are panic selling, they are dead wrong.

If your logic is correct, they shouldn't sell because it will rise, so let them sell at loss and make a profit Selling a mined coin essential means distributing it further to other and/or non-miners. The long term price of the coin is totally unknown as it depends on how sustainable the development it etc. And something else about multi coin pools: they stop mining as soon as it's not the most profitable coin to mine. |

Important read for true exchange value of dogecoin,
alright using coin produced dogecoins value should be around 142 on the exchange. It is definitely oversold at the moment.
As an example dogecoin will have 297 time more coins produced then feathercoin, if you divide feathercoins exchange value / 297 you get over 140 value for doge and this coin
has far more hype behind it!
So yes people stop panic'ing the coin is currently selling 3 * less it's true value. It's a buying oppertunity!
