There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

so what are the long term thoughts for DOGE?

I just found 1.1 mil in a pool account i forgot i mined in on the day of release and now i dont know wether to sell them and take the .5 BTC or hold out for a price rise.

I had a similar scenario with NET coin and i sold early for $500 but if i held it would now be worth $50,000 so its an annoying position to be in lol. (never complain about a profit though!)

if there is going to be development for the coin i'll hold for a few months and hope for a much better return ^.^ any advice would be greatly received.

Woof!

Is .5 BTC really worth it?

The coin is only 2 weeks old and all the early miners are dumping. Look at the buy orders at the minute, there are plenty of people willing to buy the coin at its current value.

All the multipools have got hold of it and dumping it for little value. When it becomes harder to mine, they'll forget about it.

It'll go up, all just a question of when?

When difficulty and price make mining it less profitable than another coin.

Of course, not sure when that'll be, but I'll sit on my pile. In no rush to sell.

think i'll do the same, i just looked at how long i spent mining them and it was only a few hours so anything about $1 is pure profit lol so think ill just wait it out might even but a few extra if the price drops low enough. ^.^ hopefully it'll turn out rosey Smiley

A new Dogecoin lottery:

http://luckydoge.org/

Right now the jackpot is still small, but it will get bigger when more people play.

should have a countdown timer for when the draw will be ...

Once this meme fizzles out entirely, what are the chances someone could rebrand this relatively mature chain as the Dog e-Coin (think Chinese Panda, American Eagle/Buffalo, etc)?  Cheesy

I think this is why some early miners who usually miss out on things are holding.. just in case..  it's not like it's cost them much to have a dog in the race.  Grin

I do most of my trading on Cryptsy. It's slow but I've never had any real issue with them. And if you're looking for a huge amount (10 million+), they have the sellers.

There are also some really nice large buy orders on Cryptsy right now in the low 40's. There are people looking to pick up a lot of doges.

I don't know what the chances are, but that's a brilliant suggestion!   Cheesy

They were having issues with double transactions the first day Doge listed. Happened to me too. But I haven't had any issues since and I probably put through a dozen or more trades on Cryptsy daily.
