Those fees would need to be built into the client. But if nobody updates their client version, it won't happen. What is my incentive to upgrade to a new client version that includes fees into my transactions? none..

You couldn't send Doge coin from account A to B the other day without screaming theyd 'evaporated' and now your fretting about this and claiming the coin is fucked?

Your motivation is that miners won't process a feeless transaction, so your transactions will stay in limbo forever.

For those complaining about the client not being able to encrypt your wallet (or use any console functions, including "help"!) on certain versions of windows, then simply run your client in compatibility mode for Windows 98 (ie: right click > properties > compatibility tab > run this in compatibility mode for > Windows 98 / ME) Works fine now on my Windows 8 64bit. Try using other compatability modes if that doesn't work for you. D9DnY4MArhzW4h16xMc1X6kBZ6C2wGoHqB What are you talking about? https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/releases/tag/v1.4.1Doesnt need any compatibility mode. Thanks for that. OP should change the title to 1.4.1. Didn't know it was out.

Problematic, since 1.4.1 is not a mandatory update. Running 1.4 here on Linux and no problems.

Your motivation is that miners won't process a feeless transaction, so your transactions will stay in limbo forever. Dogecoin is fine. It was designed to have incentives. Very well designed. Currently Dogecoin has inflation. After we hit 100 billion, a 10,000 block reward will continue or about 5% increase per year. This would be an extra 5 Billion coins add to supply every year. If 1 Dogecoin = $1 then that would be a 5 billion dollar incentive for miners to keep mining. Personally I think 1% would be enough to keep people mining. Coins will be lost so a little inflation is not a bad idea. All this might change. Some idea's a being considered to reduce the inflation: Read here: https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/issues/23Moon is inevitable.

I was having that weird problem, I tried with that solution but didn't work with any compatibility. I didn't know that the new version was released, and now it's working!! Doge magic! Thanks to both. 150 tip sent to D9DnY4MArhzW4h16xMc1X6kBZ6C2wGoHqB, those'll be millions of millions of billions in the future or maybe 150 dollars which would be very good news. Arriving later, client is syncronizing.
