i read that Emercoin will have 1,000,000 total coins one time. when will the final amount be reached and how many Emercoins are created yearly?

I think as a Proof-Of-Stake coin based on PPC code, with 6% interest pa, there is no real hard cap to the coin creation, but I am not exactly sure.

The info at http://emercoin.com/ABOUT_EMERCOIN says Total coins: 1 * 10^9 EMC.

First decentralized pay per click advertising network? Wow! This is the decentralized version of Google's main income stream.

Plus the other core features, such as DNS ...10 million marketcap? EmerCoin is still flying totally under the radar.

Regarding EMC cap limit 1,000,000,000.00

Really, this is soft limit, will be reached in ~50 years, if no significant network activity. This estimate including POS+POS money supply increase.
However, don't forget, EMC has TX FEE, which is "destroyed" during transaction. So, existing process for decrease coin supply.
More over, NVS-operations also have significant TX FEE. And, these days, since mass domain squatting,
sometimes coin supply even decreased after some blocks, since coin burning is more than mining for some specific blocks!

So, we can estimate limit 1,000,000,000 as "practical soft limit", but not as real technical limit.

When large investors and corporate partners and their ilk review these discussions, seeing comments like yours does not help advance EmerCoin, CryptoCurrencies in general including Bitcoin. Those days are long behind me, especially since EmerCoin has performed so well that it has not only surpassed nearly a $9 Million Dollar market Cap but has also been invited by one of the largest corporations in the world to partner up and bring CryptoCurrency Blockchain Technology to a completely new realm.

BTW- I have never had a drink in my life. You must not know that I am a former United States National Institutes of Health Biotechnical Engineer with many peer-reviewed papers written. Knowing the effects long term and short regarding alcohol, I am far more wise than to ever delve into that type as self congregate.

One question regarding the 6% staking reward every year.
Do I need to run the Emercoin client 24 hours a day or do I receive this if I just log in every 2 weeks or so?
