From EmerCoin's many revolutionary features, what feature would you recommend into Healthcare Sector's attention at the first place? As you may guess, my research is a little bit limited on time and I want to make sure I show something we consider most important among the many super nice features.

I think DPO is most applicable. For example, does anyone want to get a counterfeit medicine? Therefore, the patient has the right to demand the guarantee of the authenticity of medicines from the manufacturer.

I had a little time to scroll-through the introduction and I want to make sure I am thinking the right thing. So, manufacturers could store their medicine IDs to their names to prevent criminals selling experimental products in their names as well as making sure they take the responsibility for their products?

How does DPO scale when there are 1000/second healthcare patients all trying to make updates to their profiles and each of them has 10kb of healthcare data to update? seeing any issue here?

Are not the manufacturers who update their portfolio of products here? Patients could simply read the public portfolio with an explorer. It should not cause a big issue for the blockchain considering how well it works with financial transactions. I am also thinking of that ingredients could be stored next to products so when there is an issue with any ingredient combination anywhere in the world, anyone could see what are the affected products.

Financial txs are 300 bytes to 1000 bytes on average.. depends on how much data is put on but small amount is fine.. 5 to 10k would be too much imo is the data anchored to emerchain or is it stored on chain?

WARNING!

Dear partner,

Recently we revealed bug in the blockchain indexing subsystem.
This is a local bug, not a fork, and all your money or Names are safe.
This bug affects Emercoin 0.6.0 only.
We released upgraded version, 0.6.1, contains bugfix.
You can download it from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/emercoin/files/0.6.1/ (source https://github.com/emercoin/emercoin/releases/tag/v0.6.1emc)
At the 1st run, program will reindex your blockchain, for reapir possible issues.
This will take about 1 hour.

If you will not download/install ontime, you have a risk to suddenly freeze of your
blockchain - your client will reject a new blocks from the Emercoin network.

If you will face so, just download and install a new wallet,
and it will repair your index, and continue work.

These are questions I too am seeking answers for.

Fixx, could you please enlighten us?
Where will data be stored and how much data can EMC blockchain surely handle with acceptable perfomance?

Like I am interested if hospitals still have to keep up their DBs to store data and only management could happen in EMC blockchain or they could simply upload entire portfolio of data into the network.

On the peculiarities of storage of arbitrary data in the blockchain.

http://emercoin.com/EMCDNS_and_NVS

And yes, storing all the data about the patient in the blockchain, this is a very bad idea. Blockchain is public and transparent! Medical data should not be in everyone's eyes.

Agreeing with Fixx, my understanding is that EMC Blockchain is not intended for mass data storage but to facilitate the verification and proof of information. Therefore it would not be used for a patient's full medical records but for storage of file hashes and encrypted certificates that are pinned to data in external databases. Concequently the blockchain can later be used to provide proof of authenticity of the records, to ensure they are current, valid, and have not been tampered with, and potentially keep ownership of the records with the dr or patient.

There are good tutorials on using Emercoin's NVS storage for EMCDPO Anti-counterfeit, ssh key management, and ssl certificates, but it would also be good to see some examples / case studies of how Emercoin NVS can be used to benefit the integrity of medical records and similar. It may be close to the process of creating InfoCard, but it would be good when someone develops some clear technical standards for medical data as well.

Could we imagine something like an ingredient-safety checking application?

Manufacturers would keep the products and their products' public ingredients in their own DBs, but there would be a hash about their data in EMC blockchain.

So, the company would know if unauthorized changes were made by comparing the actual hash of the DBs to the expected.

Also, we would be able to efficiently check if some products' ingredients were changed from reading the productName-ingredientHash pair from the blockchain. There could be even monitoring apps that notifies the patient if the hash of a product that he is using was changed.

Could we do that?

I think it is not necessary to introduce an entity beyond what is necessary. It is enough just to protect the bottle of medicine.
This is not difficult to do using the existing emcdpo.info

Other than placing a buy order or buying in to the sell offers on the exchanges your best bet is to contact someone directly who has and is willing to sell that many.

Do you have questions regarding mining?

Typically if you put a good offer on an exchange it should attract sellers to deposit their coins and make a trade. You could also ask in the #trading channel of the Emercoin slack.

Maybe the recent boost to altcoins has made people a little reluctant to sell. But if you do find someone to make a private trade then make sure you use a trusted escrow (e.g. maxihatop). good luck!
