But in the mean time this (Monarch) seems to be offering the most GH/$...

All other hardware that seems to get there is also on pre-order. Same difference it seems to me...

First, the Jalepeno is not a USB powered coffee warmer, so you can start with your scam research right there.

Second, mining was never supposed to be a get rich quick scheme.  The majority of the "old time" posters you're referencing are members that joined following the April 2013 bubble.  If you want to see how "old" posters used to post, follow DeathAndTaxes.

Too idealistic? Maybe,  I'd suggest looking at the types of people that were involved/started the bitcoin experiment and that shed some light on their idealistic views.

The Monarch delivered months from now is far more expensive than something with slightly higher price delivered immediately, like Bitmain Antminers.

Did look into Bitmain. Current products don't go past 200GH.  Do have a good GH/$ ratio NOW, but hindsight is always 20:20. And they are SOLD OUT, have been for weeks now... Worse yet: no new & improved products coming up... next please...

Why are you comparing the power usage of an existing device against the bullshit number that BFL have posted with any sort of confidence?  They received eng. sample chip a couple weeks back and they still haven't posted any test results.  The last time this happened for BFL their >1W/GH turned into 6W/GH.

But they are SOLD OUT, and have been for weeks now... And no new products coming up...

How do you know?  No one knew about Bitmain and their S1's until a week or two before they opened up sales.  Bitmain doesn't do pre-sales and have proven to be quite tight lipped on their development strategies.  If they're working on something new, you're not going to know about it until it's ready to ship.
