I bought two of the shirts.  The seller seemed quite responsive and I considered the price very fair.  Most of the time when anyone tries to sell anything which is in any way associated with Bitcoin, they try to charge vastly more than the item is worth so I found this effort refreshing.

I also kinda like that the message is simplistic.  If anyone asks what my shirt means, I can (at my discretion) just say that it originate as a drunken post on a Bitcoin related forum.

The color is a positive to me.  I don't get around to wearing a safety vest sometimes when I should be.  OTOH, I assume that these are not 'beefy-t' quality items so they would not have a long life expectancy if I were out hunting or working on a construction project.  My only complaint (admittedly before seeing the gear) is that they have no front pocket.  I swore I would never buy a tee-shirt lacking one in the future.  So much for that.

I'm very disappointed the creator would sodl any of the shirts. It goes against hodling principles Sad

Oh ya, I forgot to call out the irony dorping BTC for a shirt with this particular text.  Probably most people didn't need help recognizing it.

Girls panties with HODL on it  Cry
Wilhelm, do you think I am morally stable enough to read those Posts?
greetings from Cologne
segeln

Yes. I will explain:

adamstgBit said: what will they think of next
I noted that the next thing could be girl panties with HODL on it.
My sad smiley attempted to tell people that when tearing of a womens pants in a sex driven frenzy and then finding HODL on her panties would be a sad thing.

It was not a reference to my sex-life. My sex-life is fine got me some <2hours ago  Cool

Any more questions?

So I'm thinking of withdrawing about 30% of my funds in coins to cold storage so I'm never tempted to do something stupid like go full-fiat like I keep reading these depressing threads about. Does this count as hodling? Or is hodling an all-or-nothing thing?

True if you have a lot you can get profit and help others get coins. Price can't go up until things are more even and one person doesn't have 100k btc.

This is a very good point.  The extreme GINI coefficient in the economy strikes me as one of the largest threats.  After all Bitcoin derives a lot of it's strength from being the software that people willingly choose to run.  If relative latecomers cannot get in in a reasonable way that could be incentive to choose a different solution.

Lately I've just been selling at Coinbase for convenience.  I've no idea where the BTC goes.  Once I get comfortable that I've got what I need for some projects I have planned, maybe I'll switch over to trying to service whatever local demand there might be.  In significant sizes doing things locally is impossible, and it's always going to be a hassle which I may or may not enjoy.  Busy with other projects at the moment.

Whether legitimate or not, I consider being a 'hoarder' to have the benefit of dampening out fluctuation somewhat and providing some liquidity in times of need.  Certainly I felt that I was doing the economy a service by soaking up some liquidity back in late 2011.

not really late comers = born later or in to wrong circumstances means your mostly lock out of fiat wealth all you life or gold, property whatever, this has gone on for centuries. CC's,BTC,PeerCoin is about creating a more efficent means of trade and better bigger lest wasteful system. Latecomers will still be in a better position, the they are now in Fiat
