How much have you lost so far?

You don't lose anything until you sell at a loss.

Actually none, I mined it all on free time. Can hold my BTC & alts until they go to 0 & lose nothing, I never bought. Pure hodler, can't hodl if you buy & sell, can't lose if you just hodl. Unrealised fiat doesn't exist until I'm holding some bits of paper with pictures of the Queen on them. Might as well ask how many fairies might be at the bottom of my garden.

Sure I could've sold at the top of the market, if I knew that was the top & bought back more coins, but I didn't, I missed the top & then I missed the drop, so I'm holding until it goes back up. Maybe I wont be asleep next time, just before it drops again.

Non-hodlers, it's not too late to change your ways. Any fiat you put in a bitcoin exchange you should consider to be already lost, it was gambling money, bitcoin exchanges aren't the place to hold fiat (or cryptos), buy up some cryptos & then hope you can withdraw those, you can do it easily from reputable exchanges (stay away from ones that specialise in mtg cards). Withdraw & hold in encrypted wallets, then you can't lose any more crypto coins by foolishly trading. Bonus points for being a hardcore hodler if you forget the passwords to your wallets.

If you mean unrealized fiat, probably around $5k. That includes the alt coins too. I'm not selling anything til i'm at least 10x in green overall.

so who sodled above 800 to buy back near the 300-day MA (which we are nearing like in previous major crashes) is going to double his hodlings.
the best hodlers are those who sell high, buy low.

Of course, see the first post. But we're not all good traders & some of us need sleep, etc. It's no use selling after it's fallen. We don't all have money on Gox to buy up their super cheap coins now either.

You can gamble with your hodlings and think you are good at day trading until you do a bad trade and lose all your previous gains if not more.

1 bad trade could nullify all your previous gains. Better just hodl and make money in other ways.

That isn't day trading, it is selling on news which hasn't been appropriately digested by the market for whatever reason.
