There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Yeah wait two months and get "goxxed" by the exchange. A lot of people got burned by this. If they just hodl they would still have their funds today. |

If they just hodl they would still have their funds today. hmm yeah thats quite true but its the only risk i am willing to take. But i try to be very careful and aware about the situation of the exchange i am using (stamp, for that matter).  |
