Let me tell you a story. My words will hodl you. I call this story the "the night of the living legacy banking system".

It was a cold dark middle of the day last week. I wasn't able to pay my wifes credit card because they hadn't sent us a bill for some reason and it was getting close to a month and i didn't want to get hit by interest payments. So i went to see if it was on my online banking and wasnt. So i called and waited on hold for about 15 minutes. When they finally answered i said hey why Isn't this credit card showing up on my online banking. They said its because its under my wifes name. I pointed out that we share a bank account. They said that didnt matter. So my wife hadnt used online banking, i do all of the money management. So we had to create an online banking account for her. We created it, filled out a bunch of forums and annoying crap, we get logged in and no credit card. I call back. Wait 15 minutes again... I said forget this just let me pay it over the phone. They said ok how would you like to pay it. I said ill just use my debit card. No that wont work. Ill just use my credit card then, i know how to pay that one off, no thats not going to work either. I said ok well how can i pay it off. they said they need my bank account number and routing number. So i asked how do i get that? They tell me i have to log into my online banking and find an electronic statement. So i find it and i ask "so how much do i owe". Guess what, he cant tell me. Hes not allowed to tell me how much i need to pay off. I can say "please pay off the credit card" and he will do it, but he wont tell me how much im paying.... Well this is just great for my accounting. I point out that ill know exactly how much it was as soon as the transaction goes through, doesnt matter. I point out that i might overdraw, i ask, can you atleast tell me if it will over draw me? Nope. Cant tell me. So i say ok well this was annoying but how can i avoid it next time atleast. He says well you could become a co user on the card then it would get added to your online banking. I say ok lets do that. He says ok well we need to send you a forum in the physical paper mail for me to sign. Like the post office and mail box system for christ sake. I say can you email it to me and ill fax it back. NOPE. So i say ok go ahead and send the damn thing. NOPE. He needs to speak to my wife and of course shes not here. I point out that i cant sign it if its got her name on it. NOPE doesnt matter. He needs to talk to her to send a letter that will take a week to arrive that i cant sign anyway. Shoot me in the fucking head.

THIS. THIS is our competition and the price is falling. People who are selling so they can buy back into THAT are idiots.

Tell me about it my bank made a mistake said i sent 90K plus to KNC and flagged me as a potential criminal to SEC got a letter saying they were going to freeze my accounts and come to a bank meeting next week...so amended my taxes to be a legal miner under 2013 IRS rules just in case...tax form in hand went there.....and it went as I expected.....I showed them it was a bank error they replied but are you a legal biz ...I showed them my home miner biz tax forms all done by the CPA and legit...and the SEC guy remote on the phone reamed them a new one for wasting his time.....now that it is done..i had to pay NO 4K as i expected in 2013 on mining income (too much equip and home biz etc stuff) and this year likely won't either also I can depreciate all bitcoin equipment over 5 years for a real cost applied to taxes savings in real $$ so that is a 25% off refund ...and with the puny Jupiter and the knc Titan not arriving till November I likely will pay no or little taxes on bitcoin this year...so the way BTC is going DOWN the equip refund and such ..the fact I COULD should I choose have taken a capital loss on 1200 usd btc in 2013 minned coin at a CAPITAL LOSS at 200 now..... and may still do so for next year ...pretty sure CPA will tell me to sell some of that 1200 mined coin at a capital loss this year to take off next year and the home biz perks...now I'm conflicted...perhaps should send my bank a fruit basket...or something..say thank you very much .....with equip depreciation will only lose 7.5k on no refund no roi Titan instead of 10k.....i may have backed into saving some cash due to equip purchases of 2013 this crummy 2014 bitcoin year
so frigging bank at least these last two years really looks like they did me a favor..oh and if BTC goes beanie baby i can take a biz loss of 3k a year for like forever for more savings

It's about the long view. I'm not confident we'll go up any time soon. But, I think there's a good chance that we will sometime over the next years, possibly via a crazy and unexpected spike.

Just HODL and ignore the swings. You will make more money in the long run using that philosophy than by trying to predict which direction the price will go in over the short term.
