How do you use the cgminer API? It seems broken:

Code:
root@HEX16A:/tmp# nc 127.0.0.1 4028
version
STATUS=E,When=1396700148,Code=14,Msg=Invalid command,Description=cgminer 4.2.2|root@HEX16A:/tmp#

I had something weird happen with the new 0_3_1 software and the Hex8A1. I've only been using it a few days.

Lost internet, after router rebooted, the Hex16B went back to mining, but the Hex8A1 flashed red/green. They were using as much power, maybe 20W more actually, but no mining effort was appearing at the pool. I SSH into the TP-Link and it's running 85% load instead of the 30% it normally runs.

After I rebooted everything it's back to normal.

Did you check memory of tplink?
Free ?
High constant CPU usage indicates a thread lock
Most probably get_work was not awaken for some reason
If you are curious you can build cgminer with LOCK_TRacking enabled miner.h
And see lock stats output cgminer-api lockstats and check contents of /tmp/cglock file and post that here when something wired happens again
Check if corn is enabled on tplink also
It should reboot cgminer when it is not submitting work to the pool for some reason every 5 mins or so

i keep getting failures on the hex 16A2
the failure keeps happening periodically and hexboard disables and then starts a new one -> might be over 30-50per day.
most of the time its ZOMBIE
or from faulty to DEAD.

re-starting everything sometimes help, but now i'm starting to get the following
(tried 3.xx and 4.0.0 and 4.2.2 versions)

HEXC failure -> disabling **** glibc detected - cgminer malloc(): memory corruption : 0x012dd718

what wrong?

this is the setup im using:
1. git clone https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer.git
2. mv cgminer cgminer-4.2.2
3. cd cgminer-4.2.2
4. git checkout 5ed45a0d7a3bd71ed1b8726e5f1cdac55bf68196
5. wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/1kspms3gw0336du/5ed45a0d7a3bd71ed1b8726e5f1cdac55bf68196.patch
6. patch -p1 < 5ed45a0d7a3bd71ed1b8726e5f1cdac55bf68196.patch
7. ./autogen.sh
8. ./configuration --enable-hexminera --enable-hexminerc
(a and c are needed to both be enabled to C-to work)

9. sudo make
10. sudo make install
11. sudo ./cgminer

and for settings: --hexminerc-voltage 1080 --hexminerc-options 16:1400

(used the same to enable bflsc (jalapeno) in different folder cgminer-4.2.3 and it works ok all the time.

Visual check your HEX16C, see if there is any burn component.

Visual check your HEX16C, see if there is any burn component.

You can get random restarts from using USB1 (too slow) or multiple power supplies on a shared USB hub (try a power protected hub or seperate everything) or one of the boards is leaking power on the USB (try taping out the gnd/+5V in the USB cable).

about burned component : No Visual problem seen, also works sometimes a while -> so mayby components ok!

about the USB -> i have USB2 cables but the board leaking might be the issue -> when pluggin in USB the fan spins, so mayby there is leakake eather way.
i will try to tape out +5V and - and leave the signale+-.

is this something that can be done?

Yes, I discussed this solution originally in the Hex16b Hands on thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=338790.msg4642613#msg4642613

Just cut some thin strips of cellotape and tape over the outer pins. You'll know which ones are leaking if you connect them to a power protected USB hub they won't communicate or light up, but yeah the fans running when they're connected to USB power only is a good sign too.

Oh and also some power supplies can reset if there is nothing on the 5v line. I put a fan on it, but some people use an old HDD/CD/DVD.

hey marto74, what's the chances of getting something (say.. extra h/w) for the DOA and $500AUD to DHL the damn things back to TechnoBit? Tongue did I mention the lost shares from half a THs of hashing power while I go through this RMA process?
Hi marto74,

Thanks for the prompt RMA process. I've received the 2 units back and appreciate your responses to my queries. Nice work on cgminer-4.2.2. Keep up the good work.

Hi technobit is marto74 a month I came hex8a1 and is a month that I'm struggling to get it working by asking multiple times for help to Martin Sirakov results the miner has problems fixed light remains lit red and more than 20 GH -60/s can not undermine when it works.I then asked to replace the plunger around two weeks ago, you answered me shipped new hex8a1 I asked the shipping tracking no object has arrived and even the traking shipping!!!!!!I lost a month managed to undermine having paid the 1350 € per order hardware in January now the same hardware is 800 € and I find myself with the HEX8A1 not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He already tried Martin Sirakov technobit's remote from  in solving the problem but nothing, the miner hexminer 1.0.0.3 software does not want to know to leave remains on gh/0.000 s just putting mark on test only or later by taking part but does not go beyond the 60 gh/s when okay otherwise fixed lights up the red light and comes only with the gh 20/s

Your explanation is null dude. I take that english is not your main language.
You can ask for help on this thread yet you didn't.
You need to tell us you hardware specs, PSU capacity, HUB, & shot some picture.

If you insist on windows, you will had headache since no working cgminer 1 month ago but recently 2GOOD had posting working cgminer with technobit support.

Best course is to use TPLINK TL-MR3020 as host.
