Maybe you should add how to add a hash message to the transaction for those new to this. Create a wallet here http://blockchain.info and add the message through this

Which card networks accept your card, and where is the github repo of the source code, and where is the whitepaper?
Also can you prove that a trusted escrow agent controls the address you are asking people to send bitcoins to, rather than it being controlled by a sockpuppet / scammer anonymous alias who has only one post, no source code, no debit card / cash-card arrangement set up with any card-networks, no whitepaper, no trusted escrow to hold any funds, and, seemingly, no intent to do anything other that simply steal bitcoins under false pretences?

I would send BTC, but how do I know you won't run off with our coins?
I investment more than 300 btc in this project, and the BTC of project received,in addition to a small part for the payment of compensation program development, all used to convert the VSC NXT just received 27 BTC all global and NXT may be created by Satoshi. So you will be the biggest stakeholder ,even the only one.

What did you spend your 300 bitcoins on, exactly?
Surely for 300 bitcoins you should have been able to take some time off work to write your whitepaper, and hire programmers to help you finish your code, and maybe even pay whatever fees or deposits the card networks want for accepting your card on their network?
Paying 300 bitcoins and not even getting a github repo out of the deal sounds like you got ripped off...

i'd rather believe you got a great idea and want it become true, but why total number of visacoin should depend on project received, let's say, just a example. you received 10btc, then you will made total number of visacoin: 10x1000???

During those about 2 months, BCNext disclosed a lot of design feature, API and replied, discussed all tech questions with the participants. But for visa coin, the guy said he put a lot 300 BTC, and he also prepared to accept the investor 1000 BTC.

If you take it serious, I can use my real account and provide the fund escrow service so as to advance your project and also let the investor be safe.

Why should Visacoin have the hash? Won't the hash be the key to the new VSC wallet? Edit: @Visacoin: the hash will be needed just to fund the account with VSC?

How is it legit? what about it is legit? If they had real plan and business idea, they would go through reputable sources. They would have their act together and have everything ready before they came out. They would have their business registered, website done, bank accounts, they would list the Law firm they are working with. Anyone that does not have a Law firm with this kind of project is on the wrong path and is hiding something. As a hedge fund manager, I know the signs of SCAMS.

Should be interesting to follow the progress. There are not many details now, if you can publish a whitepaper and give us more leads to do our research (as opposed to "trust me, I am putting your money to good use" scenario) that would be great. Merry Christmas!

It seems it going to be a successful coin since a lot of people are calling it a scam without any proofs and we are know the market cap of so called scams coins i.e MSC and Nxt are today. Why don't you all give the OP time to post more information as it's available but I think the announcement is a bit earlier and he's definitely not prepared for these trolls.

It will have to be renamed, no retailer will actually be able to say they accept it without being sued
they have no relevance Yeah good luck with that. Visa gets a hold of this, you're in for it. I know because I had something similar happen, I got a cease and decist letter from Macy's once because an Android app I worked on had a tiny graphic in it for a Macy's credit card, and the lawyer statement said "Macy's customers may confuse this for being a macy's product". Trust me you'll get Visa all over you for this.

Trust me you'll get Visa all over you for this. They probably bet on that not happening until after they already got donations, which are what they are actually after anyway, so why would they care that after they take the donations and vanish no one will be able to salvage anything from the mess due to the trademark problems? Its not as if there is anything to salvage anyway, except the donations, and likely the only way to salvage them is not to send them in the first place. -MarkM-

Also, 90% of comments here are from OP's sockpuppets. It is a copy of NXT but there is no devs for this coin. It is hard to believe that the client is going to work with no one to fix it. Maybe I'm wrong but I would not take the risk when you can simply invest in innovative and serious coins like Next and eMunie. If you plan to invest, please have a look at all possibilities. Here is a list of some Innovative Alternative Crypto Currencies with some links and explanations.

Promises. @dewdeded check out the spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0ApjQ5TKiRAK0dGdFZW1TRENFbC1Hc3Y5OWxaemtGS1E&usp=sharing, you can see that contribution is rolling in already. Most of these trolls are still gonna invest anyways they just like to slander any new coins. From my understanding you get 1000 VSC for 1 BTC. I believe VSC has the potential to be among eMu, MSC and Nxt. So only time will tell.

MarkM, It's good that you realized that I'm not associated with the coin, I'm just passionate about the project and over and over the scare tactics used by some of you are proven to be false just to scare off potential investors while you have majority of the coins . I can list all the coins that I didn't got into the initial launch due to the fact that it was called a scam coins and months later it's already on coinmarketcap.com. Invest wisely and importantly follow your heart and let others do same. If I get burnt it's part of life experiences. Cheers

He hasn't shown a damn thing yet.
At least with Mastercoin the guy was here a few years discussing and developing the ideas, he went to conferences and discussed them with people there and so on and so on before eventually, when no one else took the ideas and built with them, he ended up having to do it himself.
With NXT there is actual code actually running.
This thing is pre-order vapourware. Unlike Butterfly Labs though he doesn't even have a history here of delivering on projects in the past.
Sending money just encourages more such scams to proliferate.
Plus the whole trademark problem being dismissed as not a problem makes it pretty obvious he she or it will be long gone long before that becomes an issue.
Obviously it is all about cheating people out of money, that is why nothing is any worry or concern at all so long as people send money.

I sent this to Visacoin, but I've corrected the OP for grammatical issues. Hopefully this will help newcomers to better understand the Visacoin project. ____________________________________________ Why do we need Visacoin?
Most of the time a dollar is in your wallet in the morning and in the afternoon it’s in the Starbuck’s register. We rarely keep the same dollars in our pocket for more than days at a time, no matter how rich or poor we might be. Why? My experience in the bank industry has taught me if there is no circulation, the dollar is just a piece of paper. Conversely, if that same dollar circulates, its value will be doubled. Take a look at your BTC, how long have you kept your bitcoin in your personal wallets? From the moment you get them, they often do not move outside of the confines of your wallet addresses. There are many reasons for that but one of them are that BTC wallets are very inconvenient to use: - They are 8G or more
- We have to wait for confirmation that amounts to 10 minutes of our time or more
- You cannot use them for every purchase you’d like to make (You’re starving but cannot use your BTC to buy a hamburger at a specific burger joint)
. There are many problems with BTC preventing it from widespread use. BTC in a lot of ways is gold, and we don’t directly use gold as trade for goods and services. It’s not practical. We don’t walk into KFC offering a unit of gold in exchange for a bucket of chicken. BTC is the same way. For a digital currency to function in everyday commerce a coin must be easy to use, easy to carry, lightweight, and without copious amounts of data. Visacoin is that answer. What is Visacoin?
Visacoin is a convenient, safe and reliable method of payment. How? If you have a deep knowledge of BTC, you know BTC is actually a book -- recording the data source and destination. Visacoin only selects what’s useful to us in the Blockchain. Visacoin is not trying to create an entirely new blockchain like every other cryptocurrency. Instead, it is trying to make the existing BTC blockchain more efficient. Visacoin’s only purpose is to achieve the format necessary for a simple and easy BTC transaction with the use of a card or smartphone. Buy what you want with no waiting, no matter when, no matter where. How can we get Visacoin?
As mentioned above, Visacoin is not creating its own blockchain, but is selecting from the BTC blockchain. This can accelerate the process of our transaction. Thusly, Visacoin is another form of BTC. Given this feature we don't have to develop a coin and waste everyone's time on mining. So we are using crowdfunding, similar to the way MSC has. If you want to get VSC do the following: 1. Deadline: 3 months (90 days) 2014.3.31 will be the final day of the crowdfund. The earlier join in this project the more benefits you get (later I will detail what those are). 2. Limit: In the design, we don't stipulate a minimum and maximum limit. You can send 1mbtc, or1000btc. You choose. 3. Method: Send any amount of BTC to 1PmsmFaNQraZVbBv3Q13jmyucXVJfUo4Hb By the Visacoin foundation management).(Do not forget to pm me),this will affect how much VSC will you get. https://blockchain.info/address/1PmsmFaNQraZVbBv3Q13jmyucXVJfUo4HbHow much Visacoin can we get?
Depends on the following three factors: A: Total BTC of project received. B: How much BTC you sent. C: When you send it during the project period (The first month in can get extra rewards). Extra rewards: In order to encourage everyone to actively participate in the project, I own part of the BTC as a reward. The first person who sends more than 1 BTC will get the same number of BTC as a reward. The first month in can get extra 1.1X, the second month 1.05X. DO YOU WANT TO WORK FOR VISACOIN?
We have a ton of work to do. You can help, and get paid for your work! We have: 1. Working to build wallets and independent software projects. 2. Writing specs for various features. 3. A PR company. 4. Project Management 5. Hiring And many more… To find a project, Please apply by emailing vsccoins@gamil.com . We also need to set up a foundation to manage the daily affairs. Including but not limited to the following content: 1)Release the latest progress of the project, 2)Supervise the use of money 3)Solve technical problems 4)To solve the public doubt Etc. If you are an honest man(It is more important than any other requirements),and have the time and the ability to management the team, You can contact me by email(vsccoins@gamil.com), Now I need at least three people to help me finish prophase works. Github:https://github.com/visacoin/vsc Medium and long-term plan will be released. Blockchain: https://blockchain.info/address/1PmsmFaNQraZVbBv3Q13jmyucXVJfUo4HbGoogle: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApjQ5TKiRAK0dGdFZW1TRENFbC1Hc3Y5OWxaemtGS1E&usp=sharing VSC Logo Design Contest: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=384502.0website: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=385603.0I didn't realize that a project will have so many questions on the first day,I all day in response to the question,Really frustrating!!! New Progress Short-term plans: 1) Designing a logo of vsc https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=384502.02) Build a formal website https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=385603.03)Finished whitepaper Is writing Medium-term plan: 1)Set up a Foundation In different countries and regions 2)Recruitment software developers ((Wallet For Windows.luinx and Mac os.released sourcecodes)) 3)Develop an API(for iPhone and android) In this Step, development the main functions of vsc: Secured transactions Credit facility Automatic transfers between accounts Foreign Currency Exchange Electronic money more:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=385739.0 Some notes:
1)This project has only just begun. There is a lot of work to be done,As such, I have given up my Christmas holidays for this project. Many people want to see the fruits immediately, They want to want to wake up tomorrow and be a millionaire,. We need hard work to achieve that. It will not be done overnight. 2)This project is like a baby. There are many aspects that need to improve,. There may be all kinds of problems, but we cannot deny the viability of Visacoin if flaws arise. And they will. 3)I'm tired of responding to a variety of suspicions on the project ,so,I will only answer questions about technical issues. If you do not believe, that is fine, but please leave the discussion so that constructive communication can thrive. This project is open source., 4) I must remind: everyone that any project has the possibility of failure, including this one. MSC’s plight has confirmed this, . I'd rather you see it as an attempt, a kind of opportunity which can change the BTC world. If it fails, I will lose all of my worth in BTC, so I will try my best to make it successful. I will always publish any new progress I make on the Visacoin project. Thanks to those who have encouraged me!!

Visacoin’s only purpose is to achieve the format necessary for a simple and easy BTC transaction with the use of a card or smartphone. Buy what you want with no waiting, no matter when, no matter where.
So now you are just a bitcoin-app-for-smartphones with associated cards? Not an alternative coin afterall, the coin you will be sending and receiving and using and so on is actually bitcoin? -MarkM-

1st) Raising funds before showing any white paper? 2nd) No further discussion about that project at any other thread? 3rd) Is OP a newbie? I have a bad feeling about it...

It's funny people are comparing this to MSC and NXT. Do your research, both of those were much more solid than this, albeit still risky. I won't bother pointing out all the red flags, but the OP hasn't shared any real technical details and his writing comes across as very vague. Plus creating things like an empty github to make it seem more legit to people that might not know any better. This has scam written all over it...

Agree, hard to believe that someone is investing in this scam Why would you believe it? Have they stolen any identities yet or is it just sockpuppets so far or even just anyonymous bitcoin-balances? There are suckers all over through so really that is all they need, until all the suckers run out of money and new suckers stop being born they likely camke good money running scams like this all over the internet. This might be far from the only such scam they have running. Here is a potentially useful link: http://bitcoinism.blogspot.ca/2013/12/lex-cryptographia.html-MarkM-

I fully acknowledge that the .25 could be a total loss to a scam, but hell... Most of my money I've invested in crypto currencies was based on that same argument. And I've been doing well so far, so let's see what happens here. Tbh I have not seen any evidence that this project will succeed, but I also haven't seen any evidence that it will fail. So time will tell. I should also mention that I would have been willing to invest a whole lot more with a decent whitepaper and evidence of how this project could or will succeed.... Pay attention to this OP... Scam or not, the more you can prove how success of this project will happen, the more funds you will raise/steal.

Well done,I'll pay you 100vsc as a reward IMO simpler and safer should be changed to simple and safe. It should not be assumed in the logo that it is being compared to alternate currencies/payment systems. Edit: that being said, I like the logo. Yes, i think that your proposal is good

My guess is that topic starter has a simple plan:
1. fund some money 2. wait for nxt and e-munie code are realeased 3. find a programmer 4. pay him and make a clone
It explains pretty much everything. He can't share any details because he has no idea yet.
Other good explanation that it's just a scam. It explains even more. Including why he doesn't care about stealing Visa trademark. Just because he has no plans to launch the coin.

Edit: that being said, I like the logo. +1 along with eliminating convenient, which is redundant to simple so "simple safe" or if you want 3 words exchange convenient with easy "simple safe easy". Or maybe just "simple" or "easy" bc using the word safe highlights the potential that it might not be.

Shouldn't it be @gmail.com instead of gmil.com?
gmil.com = gamil.com This is the first thing I noticed when reading the OP. Unless you are affiliated with gamil.com (a design firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA since at least 1995) but I highly doubt it. You also cut and pasted the same address into your webpage forum post. How much traffic and potential investors did you lose because of this alone? You obviously didn't care to read thecoinjournal's post or you would have changed your contact information? Maybe you will read mine. In either event, thecoinjournal and myself will gladly accept bitcoins for helping you gain many more investors and adopters than you ever would have without this change. And it is in fact the only mention of this at all out of 9 pages of posts by the whole community..wow. Great concept if you can pull it off, but how could you convince anyone that you can if you can not even get your contact information correct and then cut and paste it in another topic as well? I do not even want to imagine any attempt at coding. Edit: Apparently you edited your op to the correct email within the last 4 hours, but it was still about 3.5 days after it was originally pointed out to you. Good luck

Maybe 0.25 bitcoins was enough, or maybe the person who claims to have sent 0.25 was not the only victim and however much of the coins were not the OP sending to itself was enough.
Given the easy acceptance of totally obvious scams it might be more lucrative to just keep spawning new ones than to waste any time or effort trying to make any of them look at all believable.

without your CV, personnal info, written white paper; It is to be considered as a scam.
If you want to fight against msc and nxt you have to think more about the coin repartition; it is where they fail.
PTS try something smarter; but with memorycoin coming i'm not sure of what they are doing.
U definitly should think of a stake-through-hashrate like pts; + another way to distribute coin more equally for new comers at IPO.
Is this coin going to be java too ?
Just answer before taking coins. I'll be pleased to join the team if I can do some good work; giving ideas; making some PR; but like eveyone with a brain, I need more infos.
visacoin; u can pm me and reach me on skype @exilepoker.
Cheers.

1. Are the author from an English speaking country? My answer is NO! 2. Why end up the IPO so hurry even if no whitepaper come out?
3. The author's position is just a Jr. Member, how can we trust a Jr. Member?

Visacoin:Born for circulation -Method of payment and Circulation based on BTC-Gold Using VSC,Simple like using your Visa 2013.12.29 Important update: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389958.0VSC IPO,Take off now ! ! ! Amount:21.0602BTC Has ReceivedBlockchain: https://blockchain.info/address/1PmsmFaNQraZVbBv3Q13jmyucXVJfUo4HbGoogle: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApjQ5TKiRAK0dGdFZW1TRENFbC1Hc3Y5OWxaemtGS1E&usp=sharingRemind:Do not forget to pm meWhy do we need Visacoin? Most of the time a dollar is in your wallet in the morning and in the afternoon it’s in the Starbuck’s register. We rarely keep the same dollars in our pocket for more than days at a time, no matter how rich or poor we might be. There are many reasons for that but one of them are that BTC wallets are very inconvenient to use: - They are 8G or more - We have to wait for confirmation that amounts to 10 minutes of our time or more - You cannot use them for every purchase you’d like to make (You’re starving but cannot use your BTC to buy a hamburger at a specific burger joint) There are many problems with BTC preventing it from widespread use. What is Visacoin?Visacoin is a convenient, safe and reliable method of payment. If you want to get VSC do the following:1. You choose. 3. Method: Send any amount of BTC to 1PmsmFaNQraZVbBv3Q13jmyucXVJfUo4Hb By the Visacoin foundation management).( Do not forget to pm me),this will affect how much VSC will you get. https://blockchain.info/address/1PmsmFaNQraZVbBv3Q13jmyucXVJfUo4HbHow much Visacoin can we get Depends on the following three factors: A: Total BTC of project received. B: How much BTC you sent. C: When you send it during the project period (The first month in can get extra rewards). Extra rewards:In order to encourage everyone to actively participate in the project, I own part of the BTC as a reward. The first person who sends more than 1 BTC will get the same number of BTC as a reward. The first month in can get extra 1.1X, the second month 1.05X. DO YOU WANT TO WORK FOR VISACOIN?We have a ton of work to do. You can help, and get paid for your work! We have: 1. Working to build wallets and independent software projects. 2. Writing specs for various features. 3. A PR company. 4. Project Management 5. Hiring And many more… To find a project, Please apply by emailing vsccoins@gmail.com. We also need to set up a foundation to manage the daily affairs. Including but not limited to the following content: 1)Release the latest progress of the project, 2)Supervise the use of money 3)Solve technical problems 4)To solve the public doubt Etc. If you are an honest man(It is more important than any other requirements),and have the time and the ability to management the team, You can contact me by email(vsccoins@gmail.com), Now I need at least three people to help me finish prophase works. Lots of work waiting to be done,I have gave up my Christmas holidays Many people want to see the fruits immediately, They want to want to wake up tomorrow and be a millionaire,. We need hard work to achieve that. 2)This project is like a baby. There are many aspects that need to improve,. There may be all kinds of problems, but we cannot deny the viability of Visacoin because of flaws that might arise. 3)I'm tired of responding to a variety of suspicions on the project ,so,I will only answer questions about technical issues. If you do not believe, that is fine but please leave. This project is open source., 4) I must remind: everyone that any project has the possibility of failure, including this one, mscs plight has confirmed this, I'd rather you see it as an attempt ,a kind of opportunity which can change the BTCworld. If it fails, I would lose all my btc, so I will try my best to make it successful. I will always publish any new progress I make. Thanks to those who have encouraged me!! WARNING! WARNING! 1)The OP might be French 2) The IPO ending early is good because BTC price is volatile, lot of people will not want to lock down their investment for three months. 3) I have seen developer releasing coins under their new coin flagship account. We all started from newbie status.

The scam accusations are getting ridiculous every second from trolls, Visacoin should close the IPO immediately and concentrate fully on the coin development and brand awareness. Additional funding can be raised from the people that already invested in initial IPO.

I am not exactly sure what your end game with this coin is (if you are not a scammer and actually have an endgame beyond steal as much BTC as possible in the next 3 months) but if it ever involves this coin being used as payment to online businesses, NO ONE will accept it because they will have VISA, ya know, as in VISA CARD up their ass. Seriously, do you think Apple would ever allow a Visacoin app in the app store? Welp, ya just shut out ipad and iphone users from your potential userbase over a silly name you were too stubborn to change. Even if there was the slightest possibility of the name causing an issue in the future, why invite that potential complication in the future?
And really it is just a shit marketing move in the first place. We all know about VISA cards, they are used by millions across the world everyday for years now. Give it a name that sparks the interest of the general population, let's them know this is something new they have never seen before. When someone hears the word "bitcoin" for the first time, invariably their response is "what's that?". It is new, it is fresh, it gets them interested. If I heard "visacoin" for the first time outside this forum, I'd assume it was some dopey marketing ploy by VISA to get me to give them more money and not even bother finding out what it was.
Seriously, name change, white paper, and I'll flick some BTC towards this thing and see what happens.

The scam accusations are getting ridiculous every second from trolls, Visacoin should close the IPO immediately and concentrate fully on the coin development and brand awareness. Additional funding can be raised from the people that already invested in initial IPO.
Are you one of the developer of the VSC? No

my main concern is the name and branding, have you thought about copyright issues? If this is a long term project don't you think this will cause conflict with Visa ? Visa one of the largest and most powerful payment institutions on the planet. they will surely come after you at some point when you go mainstream.
you're using their name and even your logo has the blue/orange colors in it.
Can you please clarify this, i'm interested in this project but the name is a big concern.

Project sounds good as it really changes the game for instant payments! Can you please provide a timeframe for the different tasks you've set up and an estimated release date for the coin? It seems there's quite a lot in your shoulders and you are already on a job, therefore making me think it won't be released before some time.
Cheers

I was nervous at first that it was a scam but since I've invested everything has been going great, so far. Immediate response from dev after I sent in my donation, consistent follow through on all promises, and have been receiving email updates from the dev in addition to the new update thread. All this in the last few days. That's not to say everything is perfect but I like the energy behind the project right now and I'm sick of kicking myself for not getting involved in the adoption phase of cryptocurrencies that have gotten big. Worth a small risk in my eyes!

I think this has gone on long enough. I'm sending this over to Visa's legal department, see what they think about this nonsense. And for "VisaCoin"... Trademarks and Brand Names The trademarks, logos and service marks, whether registered or unregistered (collectively the "Trademarks") displayed on the Visa Site are Trademarks of Visa and others. VISA®, the Three Bands Design Mark®, CLASSIC®, the Comet Design Mark®, the Dove Design Mark®, ELECTRON®, ENTREE®, the Impulse Design Mark®, INTERLINK®, the Network Design Mark®, PLUS®, the PLUS Design Mark®, and It's Everywhere You Want To Be® are registered Trademarks of Visa in the United States and other countries (trademark denotations on the Visa Site indicate federal registrations in the United States). Nothing contained on the Visa Site should be construed as granting by implication, estoppel, or otherwise, any license or right to use any Trademark displayed on the Visa Site without the written permission of Visa or such third party that may own the Trademark. Just like there was no one to reach when Kim Dot Com's website(s) aided and abetted piracy of copyright materials? SInce this forum has mods, it cannot claim to be a mere "common carrier" carrying content without knowing what the content is/contains. So maybe if nothing else they could send the forum itself a cease and desist for aiding and abetting "conspiracy to violate a Trademark" or some such. ...Really? "Visa is Visa, vsc is vsc"... Worst name choice ever. Keep vsc if you wish, but find another name that visa... Seriously. I will not call it a scam, 'seems so legit~ But one of these days 'such kind of start will be one. Be careful people. We will destroy all of the BTC to generate an equal VSC in btc block chain
Then why the hell didn't you implement proof of burn / destruction of the coin? I'm waiting for such an innovation. Fair start, no mining, almost scam-proof. I'd really enjoy to send some coin to a weird address to destroy my coin. Update.2013.12.29 We also plan to shorten the deadline of IPO,and increase rewards to early donors
Not a fucking week has pass and you already change the deadline? For fuck's sake people, learn to assume your talk. That's exactly why I "hate" Nextcoin. They announce a month a half, and then suddently decise to stop it after 2 weeks for no honest apparent reason, nor any explication (that I succed to find). Making the original wealth distribution BAD on purpose is a HUGE turn off to me. That's why I didn't bought a single NXT even at 300 satoshi. Now 'almost 8000 satoshi, 'well greed and delusion is amongst human... A pity I miss a x26 train. At least I stay true to myself. No regret. (gonna hurt many if 10 early guy sell everything in january... a needed lesson?) Edit: Arf, fuck it. After this time consuming text that nobody will care about, I was in the mind to lose 50$. But the address already got over 50 income. Thank you for a such bad appearance, wow! You save me money. Best of luck to the fools.

Misuse of any Trademarks, or any other content, displayed on the Visa Site is prohibited. Visa aggressively enforces its intellectual property rights, including via civil and criminal proceedings. Highlighted the relevant parts for you. You're such a tool. You sent this forum thread to Visa's legal department? Great job. "This has gone on long enough" What, two weeks? If it becomes an issue and needs to be changed it will be a quick and easy fix. I don't know why everyone is breaking a sweat over the name. Relax. Side note: jesus already at nearly 80 BTC for the donation fund, what the hell happened yesterday? Awesome stuff. On the contrary, The OP clearly doesn't understand copyright/trademarks, and isn't taking this seriously. It's better this gets shutdown/name changed sooner rather than later, before even more people part with their hard earned BTC. Would you rather invest dozens or hundreds of bitcoins and/or hours of mining/electricity into a project that just gets shut down later? Sooner is better than later good sir.

So maybe if nothing else they could send the forum itself a cease and desist for aiding and abetting "conspiracy to violate a Trademark" or some such.
The forum is operate anon too. It is a dot org domain, thus well within U.S. ability to shut down / seize. -MarkM-

Good grief people.... op has another thread for the naming issue. Go argue over there. op you may want to make this very clearinthe op.
And while the domain wouldnt get siezed right off, the site could get shut down if it ignored a cease and desist order which VISA would easily get gramted

Really interesting coin! And it has already raised more than 4x what NXT did during its presale. Greater participation early on should help it combat NXT's biggest problems, which are (lack of) distribution and hoarding.

Visacoin:Born for circulation -Method of payment and Circulation based on BTC-Gold Using VSC,Simple like using your Visa 2013.12.29 Important update: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389958.0VSC IPO,Take off now ! ! ! We rarely keep the same dollars in our pocket for more than days at a time, no matter how rich or poor we might be. What is Visacoin?Visacoin is a convenient, safe and reliable method of payment. If you want to get VSC do the following:1. You choose. Anybody still trust this project and donate to the BTC address? Then you will lose all your BTCs and Visacoin will steal all of them, let see the final result. Let's keep a closely eye on this scam thread. Visacoin has no technical background at all!!!How does what you posted make this "definitely a scam"? You're spewing bullshit.

So this coin is a scam because the dev hasn't posted in 3 days (which just happens to be over New Years and New Years Eve)? I think some of you need to relax the pitchforks.

There is no doubt that this is a scam.In fact, this guy still landed this account many times every day, but he did not update, nor any explains, maybe he will come out tomorrow to say someting, but I do not trust him again.by now there are already more than a hundred victims, and I hope no more BTCs will be send to him again.BTW, I guess this guy(maybe group) had launch another scam herehttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=391725.0

Yep. They only stand out because all the crapcoins have vacuous OPs. These threads look more legitimate by comparison (which isn't saying much). Oh look, they're hiring developers. They must be real, then. The fact that you can join this forum and just in few days accrue tens of thousands of dollars worth of bitcoin by spending 30 minutes writing a post is incredible beyond measure. With no buyer protection whatsoever. This is the worst kind of gambling.

A website and logo means nothing on its own. It takes 5 mins and a few dollars to set up which anyone can do.
There is no point contacting cryptocoincharts or creating marketing material if there is nothing to back it up.
We need to see the whitepaper and some techinal progress/development work. Then we can evaluate if this is a serious project.
When will the whitepaper be ready?

HI Visacoin developer, Why have you got the time to make the website, but you can't even spend half a minute to correct my investment figure in your IPO summary table? My investment is 2.5 BTC, but only 1 BTC is shown. I have informed you about my investments several times in the past a few days. Using the provided block explorer https://blockchain.info/address/1PmsmFaNQraZVbBv3Q13jmyucXVJfUo4Hb?offset=50&filter=0Everybody can check using my BTC account number: 13gVWinUNnqAEDrnEDLwjeVPoLet4K8CBL. Everybody can see that I have investigated two times (1.5 BTC, 1 BTC) with a total of 2.5 BTC. Then Everybody can check my investment record (row 54, Ir**Ang) the IPO with the following link: Google: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApjQ5TKiRAK0dGdFZW1TRENFbC1Hc3Y5OWxaemtGS1E&usp=sharingYour irresponsible attitude has made me as well as other investors worry whether VisaCoin is just a scam!

I have PM VisaCoin developer 4 days ago (more than 2 days, well... 2 times of 2 days), and provided a clear summary of my investment. Therefore, all my investment should have been stated/updated clearly in this 3rd Jan IPO summary. Unfortunately, it did not. Furthermore, I agreed that VisaCoin developer could update every 2 days. However, mistakes should be corrected without delay. This is not an update. It is a correction!

People are greedy and tend to irrationality in this state of mind... This thread's obvious scam and the following threads using the same model are insane on their own, but the truly insane are those who throw their BTC at this. Unbelievable...

People are greedy and tend to irrationality in this state of mind... This thread's obvious scam and the following threads using the same model are insane on their own, but the truly insane are those who throw their BTC at this. No offense here, just my point of view. I think that too! People are trying to rush money instead of helping the crypto-community by founding real projects...not scams like this one. There are lots of true coders that can help this community, they need money but they don't beg nor ask for them..and they work so hard to follow the dream of fighting the banks empire. I'm maybe a dreamer, but if i only had 1/10 of that scam money i would have done something really great to promote this world and i'm doing it right now..with a small 0.25BTC, helping translating new coins site and so on. Really, if anyone here is smart enough, just stop sending money to these scammers Help the community instead of gifting money to useless scammers! Just my 0,00002435BTC (current rate )

is this a scam or not? should i spend 3BTC or not?
You'd see more return giving that 3BTC to me and giving me a 10% cut in anything I make on the exchanges. Weigh the risk vs the reward, I suppose. High risk, unknown reward. You know what I love about this coin? Look at their hiring list. If this is legit, or even a clever scam, then they'll use a fraction of the BTC they've been given to hire a whole development team to do the work for them. It's brilliant, a in way.

When will the whitepaper be ready?
we saw this many times before - Xencoin, Paycoin and many others - people are able to make everything for money - they made nice webste (here they even didnot bother to make one) http://www.paycoin.co/, http://www.icobank.com/ linkedin twitter, facebook accounts on fabricated developer, but at that time they must have to sold as many premined coins as they could, promising new bank, exchange, etc now they just shout IPO, and people send BTC without asking. at first I was interestd but now when everyday arise new thread to offer "real" VSC with new address where to send BTC... ask yourself whether you dont pay for someones evening party. or ask yourself, what could stop these people to go away with your btc when nothing has been done yet and they publicly admit it? many people visit this forum through Tor or at least VPN!! and I bet it will be also all people conected with this " VSC IPO offer" and finally nobody even Admin cannot help you to identify these people. I lost 30 LTC in LTC-wallet scam https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=176637.0And who knows, perhaps they didnot intend to scam at the beginning but in the end they were gone with tens of thousands LTC from web wallet Of course, he communicated only through Tor, swept all traces... website was registered and operated through some VPN..... Many people lost much momey, they filled criminal offenses in US but unfortunately I would bet the guy is still alive healthy and lucky with all the money.... and of course he must be very lucky because at that time LTC was abou $2...... so ..... I can only blame myself and wish him unpleasant death but that is all I can do about it I also lost some 20 LTC in https://phenixex.com The guy just suddenly stopped working on projects due to some unspecifeid problems. I still believe he was honest but was unable to handle all duties. I dont wish him anything bad however ...... He was communicating however never returned the money. And all this was functioning and working projects.... here you have only promisesThink of your "investment", when in one year 1 BTC could be $10,000, these guys could have nice condos at Bahamas thanks to your generosity Here it is the same, they might have big plans but in case they are not able to make even a website, it is bunch of amateurs and who knows how many people have access to BTC which were collected They might have good intentions but they could be robbed or things can go wrong very easily.... what would you do at their place when they are apparently very confused + without developers, unresponsive + are not even capable of making a list in excel of people who sent their money to pay their NewYear's celebration they could at least to say thank you all but they didnot bother......... In this world many people apparently dont like their money, perhaps they print them in the basement so they eagerily support scammers, believe in false promises, it is a question whether people who put their money without asking to obvious scam shouldnot be also somehow punished...... make your own decision dont listen to me

Even if initially it was a scam, the developer may create this coin, in order to gain more. And why not?

All donated BTCs are in given account 1PmsmFaNQraZVbBv3Q13jmyucXVJfUo4Hb still. Fund has not gone away. May be, it is not scam, and we just wait for dev appearance.
I would suggest people to be smart not only invest for a few words. For Nxt this did work... Nxt had an alpha client to show. All the new POS scam showing up have only a name/logo to show and nothing else whatsoever.

A fool and his money will soon be parting. What an idiot. Did you see the white paper? It should be called "white wash". There is nothing technical in there. Junk. People who buy this are insane. They see the awesome project at Mastercoin and they want in on the ground floor. So they quickly jump into this garbage which is made to look like Mastercoin from its name down. But the OP doesn't even bother with any technical details. So, get rich quick people throw money at it. Visacoin is a Raging Scam which will produce nothing but tears. Already has! If you want to invest in a real project and make real money just go to: mcoin.io and buy some Mastercoin while it is still cheap and available. It will be worth 3X by the end of the year. That is a real project with a real plan and real developers building a great system.

You guys should have realized this was a scam long ago when he was confronted by the copyright claim that would be made against him for the name being visa coin. When this issue was brought up he brushed it aside saying it didn't matter this should have cemented the fact that he was not looking in the longer term and only looking to scam you all quick for some easy BTC. For anyone that would like to invest in an actual innovative digital currency with proof look at my new digital currency that doubles as a stock option at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=399375.0 I will be happy to answer any questions you may have and be as upfront as possible about the investment point and the allocation of the coin.

Sending your BTC to Visacoin is the equivalent of burning money or throwing it in the sea, in other words: no, the possibility of legal consequences are very low due to the anonymity. Any BTC thrown at this is gone with the wind. Yes that's not nice and unacceptable, but it will be a lesson to everyone involved. Seriously, it is still beyond me how anyone could honestly invest money in this, it's just too delusional for me to grasp.

There's enough money into this project now to make a protocol that's beyond great. It's just a matter of Visacoin's competence and whether or not he can hire on the right talent for the job. For starters, I highly recommend a dev with strong English writing ability. The OP might very well be a smart guy in his native language, but to outsiders it comes off as childish and a tad shady. A lot of the requests OP has received he has responded to, but his ability to communicate and ensure strangers' trust is lacking.

I almost fell from my chair reading this comedy edit: quote from the whitepaper "If you think it's not worth your adventure, please far away,as far as possible."

It's embarrassing reading these comments insulting the OPs english. It's clearly his second language.
If he were to do this in his native tongue, none of us would have donated any BTC.
We must be patient with him

I think you need to change the distribution of the coins. At the moment you are giving a huge windfall to the first 50 people at the expense of the others who are basically taking the same chance as the first 50. Why not just make it an even, gradual, sliding scale for everyone who contributes until the IPO closes. How does the guy at place 51 feel now? Pissed off, and he supported you just as much. Just make it one sliding scale for ALL IPO contributors.
As for whether this is a scam or not, it sounds as ridiculous as NXT did, and that has made millionaires. It's a bet on an unknown, just like NXT was. The obvious difference is with the language barrier for the Visacoin guy using english. His brain might be just as interesting as BCNext's.
The original NXT client BCNext showed was some sort of selling point, but it definitely didn't scream coinmarketcap top 10 in a couple of weeks.
Anyone who missed out on the NXT genesis block and believes the NXT stakeholders are greedy or undeserving should send this guy 1 bitcoin now. If not, they should accept that their tolerance for gambling is lower than those who did. You can't have it both ways. NXT and Visacoin smell the same at the same stage (i.e. COULD be a giant scam)

Please also realize that once an IPO has started, the content for IPO proposal, especially for the how the rewards/benefits will be allocated to the investors, cannot be changed. But the Visacoin developer has been changing it, and now even in the white paper, it is stated that they may change the coin allocation method. That's not how it works!

It doesn't 'smell' the same as NXT. Not by a long shot. BCNext at least shared technical details, this VisaCoin guy just keeps spouting PR-drivel about how his coin is so easy to use with no real data to back it up. I realize English isn't his first language, but looking past that, he really hasn't said anything worthwhile if you dig into all his posts so far. Also, I doubt any refunds will be sent out. People have asked earlier and he never responded. He's ignored almost all the skeptics as well. This is looking more and more like a massive scam.

It is very unlikely that refunds will be send out, the sole purpose of this thread/scam is meant to collect BTC. Begin accepting that those 0.2 BTC are unfortunately, very likely lost. The OP scammed ~$139880 in total...

Ok, I think it was not originally designed as scam. But now OP with very limited talents have no option. They will do some efforts to make the coin happen by hiring low-qualified programmers and will run away with money once they understand that this coin is doomed from the very beginning. Hopefully, they are not smart enough to wipe all traces so scamholders can find the OP and ask for refund.

(not for OP) Today's generation of internet users can use Skype with ease, as with Twitter and Facebook. It's hard to imagine, however, that now with those same friends you can systematically prove and demonstrate a purchase of a KFC meal with cryptographic currency, which all equates to nothing more than binary machine code. Shouldn't really be doing this guy any favours. I'm not a translator.

If I can't get my BTC back, no one will donate it again, I promise. Our team have tracked this guys' IP, we are working with police to arrest him. This is the biggest defraud case in Bitcoin world!!!
Arrest him for what? A lot of us have been trying to warn you people about all these IPO scams. Digital Currencies are not protected by the FTC federal trade commission. There is no government who can protect you from heists. This is BTC nature, no one protects you but yourself. Are joking or what? A scam is a scam , a theft is a theft. pirate40 ? Theft of what? YOU ARE SENDING BTC to a known risk. There is no theft of BTC. I think you mean a SCAM, in which case, there is nothing you can do about it. I think they call that, being an idiot. By any law on this damn earth , this is called a scam. And of course , only idiots fall for a scam , that's a pleonasm.

In this scenario, actions can be taken to retract your money, via centralized agencies. With BTC, no one is protecting you but yourself. People willingly send BTC to this shit.

You all need to realize that nothing fraudulent has happened yet. I understand the disdain for Visacoin's output of quality work thus far, but it is an output of work nonetheless. Just because you're dissatisfied doesn't entitle you to a return of a donation. Visacoin may honor it, but in doing so he alters the entire layout of the IPO and the allocation of VSC. If your donation remains in the IPO and the project moves forward there is nothing fraudulent about the process.

Today you can skillfully use skype, twitter and facebook, but you hardly can imagine that you control the tube switch and show your distant friends that you buy a KFC drumstick by one gram of gold with 0 and 1 Can you rewrite this sentence in proper English? (not for OP) Today's generation of internet users can use Skype with ease, as with Twitter and Facebook. It's hard to imagine, however, that now with those same friends you can systematically prove and demonstrate a purchase of a KFC meal with cryptographic currency, which all equates to nothing more than binary machine code. Shouldn't really be doing this guy any favours. I'm not a translator. Thanks. I see difference. Why does OP keep silence? Did he reply anyone in PM?

Greetings! I'm watching people suggesting escrow for a fundraising here. Take a look at my list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276897.0That may help to increase transparency using other people's coins. Besides using (reliable/trusted) escrow (maybe more than one escrow "agent" in this case specifically) is good for the crypto coins community. Just consider and think about it. Cheers!

What another one? Well, there are a few of these IPO schemes on the forum at the moment. All promising amazing things with nothing to show for it. I'm not going to promote them by naming them, but they're on the forum and doing pretty much the exact same thing.

He's probably laughing his ass out.
I'll make my list of persons who invested in those scams and wait till they give advice or talk about how knowledgeable they are again. There is an idiot who invested in this and argued with me about how he's an investor and a trader and he know everything about bitcoin.
God , this will be so funnyyyyyy

See if I could mine it out of him...haha The bitcoin community needs to make an example out of someone for gods sakes. And you fucking losers make it so there is big money in scams and so you just entice more scammers.

Is it possible to track Visacoin and force him to refund scammed investors?
No, Of course not! There are probability 50 investors from 50 different countries and Visa Coin enjoys his money in china. Honestly, this guy strictly hasn't violate the law. There is certainly no rule which forbids a stupid business idea and stupid investors, which believe in this stupid idea. It has to be acknowledged, that this guy can sell the pure shit for gold. Perhaps he would be a good insurance agent or a used-vehicle dealer.

Mandatory requirements for next new IPOs: 1) IPO starter (team) self deanonymization - real name, contacts, profiles, etc. (may be, it's not needed - if escrow or warranties preferred) 2) Escrow with reliable service; 3) Proper white paper; 4) Money back for first demand.

This is still going on? Damn, this guy living in the middle of nowhere is going to be living it up for the rest of his life. Some people work for years to save $135000 and this guy got it for FREE just like that.
Well done investors.

I hate seeing people get scammed. There is really no reason for people to throw their money away on these scams. Nxt is still extremely cheap. If the investors here just took their money and bought some Nxt, they would have been much better off.
If you were an investor in this scam, send me a PM with your Nxt address and I will give you some Nxt. It will take me a few days to get everyones' Nxt address and then I will send out your Nxt.

aahahhahaha, this whitepaper, serious! ut it is difficult to imagine that you're holding one gram of gold to buy a KFC drumstick, and the waiter needs to give you some changes. Today you can skillfully use skype, twitter and facebook, but you hardly can imagine that you control the tube switch and show your distant friends that you buy a KFC drumstick by one gram of gold with 0 and 1. In the future, you will use VSC as a means of payment to buy a new Stella electric car or the round-trip ticket of space one-day tour; you will be hard to imagine that Bitcoin is now limited to the use of the MT and the activities on Bitcoin-e is for some meaningless paper money.

I'm calling it. Either the coins in that wallet address get moved, and we never hear from visacoin again, or he strings everyone along to see if he can squeeze a few more BTC out of this, or he announces the coins were stolen or some other such unlikely story.
He's probably gone quiet because he's trying to figure out his exit strategy. Anyone who gets a single Satoshi back from this should count themselves extremely lucky.

He is good at silent exit, everything including his English accent make me guess he is the famous RealSolid, which is as famous in the scamming side of cryptocurrencies as Nakamoto is at the invention side of cryptocurrencies. Satoshi Nakamoto= the god and inventor of cryptocurrencies, the guy who knows the essence of this technology better than everyone else. RealSolid= the god and inventor of everytime working scams, the magician that knows the effective dumbness and greed among crypto-enthusiasts better than anybody else!

even though good that I didn't invest in this probably a scam. Well. I do not understand one thing that dude still did not withdraw that 135btc from that address. it seems like that he has some hardship with his software and he is probably working on it. But he thinks that it wont workout so he will just try to get out silently. I believe he has hired some cheap coders who are not able to do their worked and now he's fucked.
