Is there a ballpark time frame as to when XCP is on Ethereum Main net.
A few months was the timeline given. Ruben is working on it full-time and progress can be seen on Github. Discussions regarding the project are held on slack. counterparty.slack.com I think is the URL. It has been posted earlier in this thread a number of times. EDIT: And Dom is correct in his post just above this. Counterparty is not putting XCP on Ethereum, they are putting the Ethereum VM on CP so smart contracts can be carried out on the Bitcoin blockchain.

With all due respect, this sounds like a tail chase. These types of organizational efforts may sound good conceptually but in practice all they add is bureaucracy. A small project like this needs one person who cares enough about it to be in charge and invest a lot of time into it. I don't know whether or not a person like that exists for this project.

Clearly that person is Robby.

Clearly that person is Robby. Then this project does not need: a formal Counterparty Foundation, board, and bylaws

why not? i think it's cool to have to interface with professional organizations. Because it has never worked well for any other similarly-sized software project. As a very small project, Counterparty is at a disadvantage in several ways, but at an advantage in terms of agility and its ability to operate under a single clear vision. Creating a foundation, board, and bylaws takes away those advantages. A project doesn't create those things because they're cool. They're created because the project becomes big enough to require them and this project isn't even close to big enough for that. Robby feels this is necessary because Counterparty has stakeholders and he doesn't want the associated accountability but that doesn't change any of the above.

It's not dead. It's in a "sleeping dragon" phase. Be prepared for when the dragon wakes up again.

Where in Github can see last updates about Eth VM? Can Devs give any comment about Eth VM development stage?

Good to see some investment into the ecosystem with DevParty.
Does anyone have a good grasp as to where the XCP technology is versus other alternatives to expanding Bitcoin's functionality? There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of new projects being built and I am wondering why. Is the Ethereum smart contracts wait holding up progress?

this is big. weird that everyone is silent in this thread. The uproar happened already when the rumour came into light. It seems now that it becomes reality everyone knows already about it. Or is this again just a plan?
