Interested in jumping into this coin. Is it just contracts and an exchange, or is there a marketplace for goods coming out as well?
Counterparty supports trading, betting, rock-paper-scissors (fully trustless betting), smart contracts, and many more features. There is no marketplace for goods planned, but it should be possible to integrate it with OpenBazaar. https://openbazaar.org/

Given the high volume we are witnessing on bter at the moment (800+ BTC in the last 24 hours) I hope bigger exchanges now have a greater incentive to add XCP. This will in turn expose XCP to a much larger audience.

It's possible, XCP is already gaining traction. Once we see a rally on Bitcoin we might see more mainstream interest in cryptos again.

I'll also vouch for this. If some of us can give a little bit I think it could go a long way into helping promote XCP and educate people on its benefits/uses. The small investment we make now could pay itself in the future, and we're supporting a great project.

It would be great to see it on Bitcoinwisdom for charting. It's been mentioned a few times in their thread but I'm not sure what their criteria are for inclusion. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=190722.2240Until then I use https://cryptrader.com/charts/bter/xcp/btc for real time charts

Meanwhile it's nice to see XCP in the top five ! Now lets pass this bitshares shady coin, the bitcoin copycat and the XRP semi-scam !

This doesn't seem an unreasonable target given the track record of the dev team, the potential market, and what we know of future plans for the platform. People who invest blindly make me nervous though. I would rather hear that you've done a full day's worth of research or more. That would help you decide how XCP fits in your portfolio and what kinds of things would have to happen for you to liquidate or reduce your position. Don't worry, I said "blindly follow" but I am a burner, and pushing XCP for months. It is more a kind of confidence after seeing numerous good calls. By the way, after continuous research and 8 months following this thread, I think he is right :-)

Deliciousowl you must have a similar job like me (office style job with a lot of spare time) because you were very quick to link that and I was just about to link it as well haha. But yeah I think that the coolest thing about Counterparty devs as shown in that discussion is the willingness to "discuss" and not shy away from counter arguments concerning decisions made. Counterparty devs show that not only are they willing to put their money where their mouth is, but after making decisions they back it up with valid and logical reasoning and don't run away from the opposition. Go team!!

1btc turning into 10k is nothing. NXT turned 1btc into a couple million if you bought at ICO and held.

Someone always has to downplay an achievement. 1btc being turned into 10k is definitely something unless you are used to having thousands of dollars in your pocket all the time >_>
