http://www.bitcoin2comparator.org/

It looks like that website needs to be updated. It is maintained by the Colored Coin guys. There are few incorrect Counterparty entries.

For example, the purpose of the comparison is between the asset related features of all 3 technologies.

Uses no intermediate currency: Counterparty doesn't use XCP for asset issuance
Protocol Specification Document: Yes, we have one. See here - https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/Counterparty
Send to multisig address: *Depends on what they mean here* can we send Counterparty assets to a Bitcoin address starting with '3'. I think so. And we have Multisig support now too.

Fell free to spot anything else I missed. It'd be nice to contact them once with a comprehensive list of updates to their list.

Is there any aspect of Colored Coins tech that could be incorporated into the Counterparty Protocol that would be of benefit? I know they are quite different technologies but since Counterparty is Bitcoin-Blockchain-aware it should be able to see the colored satoshis.

Can I get some input on this?
This is my comment to when they posted this on reddit. http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2nh9gp/comparing_bitcoin_20_platforms_counterparty_vs/cmdo9q9

As for integrating CC or Open Assets on Counterparty, it's obviously possible. The only benefit I can think of would be being able to do atomic swaps with altcoins. All of the other features of Counterparty are superior in robustness and power to what OA offers.

Thanks. Actually, you can do atomic swaps with altcoins using Counterparty Contracts (Smart Contracts).

To support the project and community I wanted to get some high quality artwork created and the first thing will be one or a few 3d renders around Counterparty. Do you have any ideas about what kind of imagery or objects would be good to see in this type of work? Like Bitcoin, it's a bit tricky since so many things Counterparty can do are digital, not tangible, and more process than object. Anyway, what are your thoughts?

Great idea. I would like to propose three interlinking themes - Nature, Engineering and Cybernetics. The Counterparty Protocol exhibits complex emergent behavior despite being a system with simple rules, and it has been meticulously designed and engineered with foresight and feedback.

Some specific ideas:

[1] Rock, Paper, Scissors performed with robotic hands (e.g. http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs42/f/2009/082/8/4/Cybernetic_Arm_by_Ragaru.jpg) or one robotic hand and one human hand. With the relevant Counterparty code being displayed on screen at the right time.
[2] Machine to Machine Trade on the DEx - e.g. a self driving car paying for parking. Again with the relevant Counterparty code displayed.

An interesting example of a project that facilitates taking snapshots of Bitcoin's distribution in anticipation of a potential future migration to a new blockchain - http://www.sidecoin.net/. Could be of interest to Counterparty if the need to migrate to a new blockchain arises.

Whitepaper: http://augur.link/sidecoin.pdf

Also Sidecoin is part of a larger project-  Augur (decentralized prediction market)

Quote
Appendix B: Smart Contracts
A decentralized prediction market can be constructed
in a relatively straightforward way using smart contracts,
such as Ethereum [20, 21]. Due to the recent release of
Serpent contracts on Counterparty, we are also testing
an alternative implementation of Augur using Serpent.
Counterparty’s announcement frees us to use Bitcoin as
the transactional currency on our platform, instead of
having to use Ethereum’s ether – this will also be remedied
on Ethereum itself when sidechains are released.
We think smart contracts may provide an alternative
method for implementing Augur. However, there are several
potential barriers related to security and scalability.
We are currently testing our contract implementation
and will update the whitepaper with our results.

Wow, counterparty foundation

Quote
One Community Director will be elected by the Community Members, voting as a class during a two-week long voting period (via XCP-based proof of stake voting). Every Community Director candidate must hold at least 50 XCP.

excited to see xcp proof of stake voting for real

December 4, 2014 - Development Updates

1.) The testnet version is ready. Windows/Linux and MAC

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_11-b12)

Here is the link to the file.
https://mega.co.nz/#!No1XwBgK!bKT1i3CJETUVKcTazjIepY8EZjuY5W1cUvLjF_0Fqeg

Please use http://onlinemd5.com/ to verify the MD5 and sha1.
MD5

sha1

Please download the application from the original post and not from a quote. We are not responsible if someone downloads from another quote via this forum or any other versions out there that might be posted or shared elsewhere.

1.1) Create an account via https://testnet.counterwallet.io
1.2) Open and run .jar file
1.3) Request testnet bitcoins and send to https://testnet.counterwallet.io address
1.4) Burn BTC for XCP and then "Create Asset (Token)
1.5) Send tokens to new Tilepay local wallet

2.) This is a reminder, when testing and implementation of software that deals with over 5000+ tokens that affect monetary value, due diligence/token holders must be the # 1 priority.

3.) Tilecoind protocol in progress.

4.) Demurrage fees will be applied to Tilecoin and other transactions that will reduce the total number of tokens. So, for example, right now there are 100,000,000, depending on what type of transaction is initiated via TilePay, a "burned" # of Tilecoin will be removed from the total number of Tilecoin available. This is not in this testnet version.

I am going to a funeral now and will be back later.

ASIC-8Tile

The SPV implementation is for bitcoin at the moment. The "metacoin" spv implementation for XCP/MSC is being worked on by MIT. It is called VerSum.

20 XCP bounty to build the ethereum smart contract logic for a powerball lottery on the blockchain using XCP

if someone can write the logic on the lottory using whatever is compatible with what Adam has ported to mimic the powerball lottery.

  • include a section for the instantiator of the contract (lottery) to take a fee
it should be able to handle creating multiple "tickets"
it should distribute the winning based on how many numbers people get X of Y numbers (similar to how state lottos work)
it should allow people to trade send tickets italics are edits
it should allow users to redeem tickets
it should set limits for when tickets can be redeemed
if no one gets all the numbers the contract should roll over for another time period
the initiator should be able to choose how many number fields, time block period, and his pay out, and possibly the distribution logic (if you want to get fancy).
it should be open source on github
one of the XCP dev's need to look at it and say that the code is good (or a known, respected Ethereum dev)

if you like this idea feel free to commit to matching my bounty amount or committing to give some XCP as well (or whatever crypto you want to use)

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

here is a sample lotto script

https://github.com/dennismckinnon/Ethereum-Contracts/blob/master/Dennys%20Lotto/Lottery.lsp

I know this is not a very detailed spec so please ask questions.
