seems coinmarket hasnt updated the SMC client, so probably a lot is still incoming for dump

You are absolutly right, buyers beware, when the update comes the price drop could be huge ...

CoinMarket.io was on a wrong fork as we did not know about the update.
Usually the coin devs make sure their largest exchanges are updated...

We tweeted the message to the wrong Coinmarket. Were so sorry.

I remember this situation was once before with Vertcoin... Smiley I was thinking... To sell at 0.00049000 or not to sell. I've mined these 1000 VTC for 2 days.

Then decided to sell... And after few days price grow to 10x... It was on Cryptsy. Now think that when everybody screams "sell, sell, sell", it's time to buy, buy, buy.

Oh, these weak hands...

Is one of the pools still over 51%? smc.hash.so was it? I can't remember, but shouldn't people be aware of this potential problem?

Ouch! I saw SMC hit coinmarket.io and sell at 0.00046000 (my hands were too strong  Roll Eyes), then drop all the way to 0.00003000 for quite a long time... then saw a BTC whale push it back up to 0.00037000, he left and it dropped down to 0.00019000, he came back and it went upto 0.00031000 and bounced around in 20s for a bit. Now here we are around 10-15. Cryptsy will be good *if* we can reliably transfer coins in and get onto the market when it goes live. If not we'll be left around the current price range, maybe 20s.

Don't forget many will have been unable to sell on coinmarket.io as they weren't aware of the updated wallet. This might result in a lot of dumping by the big switching pools who mined pre KGW.

Thought I'd throw a bit of reminder in here for everyone, particularly the ones that are watching exchange charts like hawks.  This coin has been live for less than 3 weeks.  If you actually beleive this is a viable coin and your freaking out about price fluctuations of a few 10,000ths or 100,000ths - especially just after a fork switch and KGW implementation - then you're doing it wrong Smiley

Don't worry about it.  Relax.

Give the coin some time to run.  If you want to obsess about something, direct that energy towards promoting the coin.  Pump it on Facebook and Twitter.  Keep emailing new exchanges to add us.  Keep being positive.  And KEEP MINING!  If we all can do this, the price will take care of itself.

Look: there are going to be price fluctuations.  Wait until the whale or whales who bought so many coins last week hit their sell range.  Wait until we hit Cryptsy.  There are a whole bunch of things that are going to create net-sell markets for a while and depress the price and, trust me, it'll happen more than once.

Don't worry about it.  Relax.

Again, we've been live for   l e s s   t h a n    3   w e e k s.

If you aren't in it for the long haul and you're sitting there staring with bloodshot eyes at your exchange site, hitting F5 with one sweaty hand while your other is hovering the mouse over the sell button, waiting for that last satoshi bump so you can sell! sell! sell!, then go for it.   Honestly, we couldn't care less.  More cheap coins for us Smiley

But if you're in this thing for a longer ride then think in terms of weeks and months, not seconds and minutes.  Kick your feet up, let the craziness subside, and let's see where the market settles so we can get a good look at where we can go.

Agree, IF there are people worrying about "a few 10,000ths or 100,000ths". However the last week alone has seen the coin near quadruple in value and drop back down again. That's a serious gain and not something you should ignore (and it's why I've got a script to alert me to difficulty and price changes). 30% profit in other industries is nothing to sniff at, and so close to 400% increase here is worth paying attention to. Nothing wrong with both short and long term profits Smiley

Yup, I agree completely with you.  My dad told me waaay back when I was 17 years old, "Nobody ever lost money taking a profit in the market".  So yes: if you have made a significant gain and want to lock it in, of course you should do it.  I'm just trying to prevent some of the craziness I've seen with other coins where people get so caught up in normal, minor fluctuations that they lose sight of the broader goal, which is (or should be) an overall long-term upward trend.

Maybe the front post should highlight other, largish pools.  I've been splitting my mining between xHash and DedicatedPool.  Both are generally 40+ mhash and both have been problem-free for me.

It may also be worthwhile to remove hash.so from the post.  There's nothing wrong with them - I mined there before they started to become such a huge part of the overall rate - but we do need to balance the hash.
