I think that for the time being, for $ 500 you can look for low value coin but have a very good future like Ripple, EOS, or ADA. These coin values are low, but you can invest in them in large numbers.

If I have 500$ I would invest in etheruem.
Though there are lots of things I can do, or invest in, but I would choose etheruem because it is very cheap and affordable to acquire

I agree. Now ETH is one of the profitable coins for investment, because now the price is very low. Etherium is very good for investment, the etherium price is currently trading too much low and if we will buy it in current price no doubt that in future it will give us a very good profit. We just need to wait for some time tell the price increase too much. The Etherium is certainly a good coin, but we must understand that a month ago it cost almost 40% more. It should be borne in mind that the downward trend persists and there is a very high probability that the price for a coin Etherium will continue to decline. |

Right now, you should invest into the stable high marketcap coins - they are more stable and there si still pretty good chance that they will recover fast. My recommendation are: NEO, XLM and ICX, even ETH is in very nice price-range these days.
I think ethereum and NEO are the best bets in this scenario, after all they are similar, one is more recent and the other has way more time in the market, both reliable though. |

A lot of people advise to invest in the etherium and wait for the end of the year. It's not clear why the end of the year, but well.
I would divide 500 dollars into 5 parts and would choose the following:
1 part in a confidential coin: Zclassic or Horizen
2 part in a project with a capitalization of more than 1 billion: Dash or Nem
3 part in a project based on Dag technology: Iota or Byteball
4 and 5 part in infrastructure projects with a small capitalization: Stratis, Waves, Icon, Aion, Wanchain, Lisk, Qtum, Zilliqa, etc.

You can look at coinmarketcap to find out about altcoins and info about altcoins, in my opinion if you want to buy altcoins you should buy a popular top coin so you don't break it. If you choose randomly, you don't know how to detail origin of the coin and make sure you have to be careful to choose the right coin.

I would’t be investing only in one coin. Diversify. Choose BTC or ETH, then add some smaller altcoins. Look up their past trends, see the reviews and make your choice. |
