What's the main differences between VTC and EXE? They both use Scrypt-N. From what I read here, it appears that "community" is the big factor.
I also noticed that there are 2 different mining softwares being used. vertminer for VTC and exeminer for EXE.
Are they the same miner? Is there a generic mining software for Scrypt-N?
Ive had a very hard time trying to get my GPUs working for VTC and was wondering if it's the same for other Scrypt-N coins, or are the problems im having specific to vertcoin only?

EXE is basically a copy of VTC. It has lower block time (45 seconds vs 2.5 minute), block rewards halve earlier (437 days vs 4 years although both are at 840,000 blocks). EXE also has a faster schedule of n-factor progression. exeminer is a rebranding of vertminer. VTC has a much bigger community.

You can use generic softwares: sgminer (AMD) or cudaminer (for nvidia) to mine VTC. You need to manually give them the nfactor:11 though. There's a big VTC settings thread.

Hi all!

I really like the way this coin is progressing ! and its really nice how it has such an active community... I think its really KEY for this coin's success and I'm happy to join you all  Smiley

There is a question I got for everyone here..

Which pool would you recommend me to mine VTC at ?

I am currently mining in dedicatedpools and I'm really getting way less than what I'm supposed to be getting from with around 1200kh ( the WU worker utility is also around that mark) so i guess that the pool had some hard time finding blocks lately. yes I know it sounds greedy but I would like to get to know about some reliable pools with high pool hashrath Smiley

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated !

Thanks from advance

ahh yes... since early morning observing this... even when I was putting own buy wall I was seeing right away little buy orders that were extending range between highest buy and next Big buy orders... simply to show noobs who dont hover to see clear full orders that there are no big buy walls (even if they were/are) ... Well simple trick for users who use for example bitcoinwisdom chart to react or first time buyers...
And yes... this way easly price can be placed down... and more down ... and more ...
When will be bottom this time? Who knows... What I know is that I already used even borrowed btc to buy more vtc lol ... in this moment holding them more then loads ... and no .... not planing to sell them fast....
still heart hurting when seeing price going down but the other part of heart saying "will be good... will be good... you did well getting full on vtc..." ...
so yeah hopefully ...

Just lets all do best to make vertcoin successful so we can have pleasure from future success Wink

P.S.
Still I am happy that price didnt rise to fast yet as still can mine many coins at this diff .... and I know well... that this diff wont last long more Sad So already sad because soon will be mining small part of what mining now Sad

regards to all vertans Wink

I'm actually happy that the price has dropped, I want to mine this coin for the next months at low difficulty because in July/Aug we will see the first flood of ASIC scrypt miners and we will have a huge flood of GPU miners migrating to VTC and shooting up the difficulty.

Hello Everyone I need your help...

So..basically I had a paper wallet with 40 vertcoins and I decided to redeem them today. Well the only way I knew how to redeem a paper wallet was to use my actual desktop vertcoin wallet which I almost never use. So i go through the motions and I import the private key and now it shows in my wallet as redeemed...except I don't have 40 vertcoins?

So I checked the vertcoin explorer and looked up the address to make sure there should be 40 there - VooBcKyaC1QMSNBoe8HeiKqJGs6rNjEqD1

Yes it shows that this address has 40 vertcoins, so I start thinking wtf is going on? And then it hit me, I still have the original vertcoin wallet from like january, I never updated it when everyone was saying must update wallet. Is this the issue?

Are you sure the Asics aren´t already on the networks ? Manufactorers mine until they got their ROI and than they sell and make the second time profit.
Private miners finally never get back their invest even if they sell all coins they mine !

Why the f** they need months to deliver. Only one reason, ripp of the lost $ out of their costumers when they already ripped the market :-(

Not only that, but they don't send shipments until they are already mining with the next gen ASICs.

GeminiSimba, that might be the issue but most likely you will just need to download the blockchain again for your transactions to appear in your wallet.

ASICs are already mining LTC since at least april, but they only have half the network hashpower because otherwise they will scare everyone off and also compete against themselves.

After they have shipped the ASICs then they will be competing against their customers and other manufacturers, so as long as normal miners don't have ASICs the difficulty will stay in the 7k-9k range, after they are shipped the difficulty will go to ridiculous levels.

If the coins were sent recently, yes. With that old wallet you're on an entirely different blockchain which does not contain the transaction to that address, so just update the wallet. Might have to clean out the old blockchain and resync too (delete everything EXCEPT wallet.dat in %APPDATA%/Vertocoin assuming you're on windows)
