I saw a transaction pop up or 50 coins... then about 5 seconds later it disappeared... ?!?

Same here... saw 50 then went away.  

I did receive the 0.001 that someone sent to me though.

How to reduce the workload of the processor?

Tried setgenerate true-2 and -3 and -4 .... and nothing, it's killing my cgminer performace which is working in Doge...

I just opened the firewall for incoming connections on my server - so one single command should be enough to get synced:

Just open Help -> Debug Window -> Console (on Windows wallet) and enter the command:
addnode 144.76.226.151 add

Linux users send this command via rpc to their wallets:
vertcoind addnode 144.76.226.151 add

I increased my connection count for up to 100 connections (only 11 so far - there's room for some of you ;-)
