so hard to mine

no it isnt hard to mine. You can easily mine a block per day even now. If it was easier to mine what would its price be? you want to see hard to mine? mine bitcoins...

It's hard to mine, it has less than 1 day and only solo mining is possible, network has almost 9Mh/s, so with an average PC doing 3000h/s you need 50 hours until you find your first block, average.

No it's not hard to mine it's hard to mine faster than those with 12-24 core servers and low latency internet connection.

whats the poin though , some people mined tons of it at the start.

Also this coin does not even stop botnets and vps nodes??

I see zero point in this coin.

I don't see how any coin could stop VPSs or dedicated servers, as long as it's a coin that uses any kind of PoW or PoS. A botnet ... you could try, but it's quite the same.

The point in this coin ... it's just another altcoin with a little bit different algorithm that will make it difficult initially for botnets or GPUs, with a clean launch, that's already more than most recently released coins Tongue

Only 8 working nodes for me.

Are you allowing inbound connections?
the default MAX_OUTBOUND_CONNECTIONS is 8

Where I must do please in wallet to change that ? Can we increase bigger than 8 ?

Its a constant in net.cpp.. ud need to edit and recompile...  but pls dont do that just open your port to public and be good to the community.

Community is always important - fact is that we're all in the same boat.

Here you have another set of nodes to get your wallets sync'ed:

addnode=46.252.27.184
addnode=134.119.3.118
addnode=134.119.3.161
addnode=134.119.3.177
addnode=134.119.3.188
addnode=134.119.3.201
addnode=134.119.3.203
addnode=134.119.3.212
addnode=134.119.3.228
addnode=134.119.3.228
addnode=176.221.46.7
addnode=176.221.46.149
addnode=37.200.98.164
addnode=93.180.154.222
addnode=93.180.157.23
addnode=134.119.5.72
addnode=134.119.5.85
addnode=134.119.5.89
addnode=134.119.5.90

Well, memory coin attempted this with huge Memory requirements from the start.

This coin (if i am understanding it correctly)  does nothing to stop botnets at all , especially at the start. I mean the memory requirement for the intial blocks is nothing, so botnets and vps nodes can take all the easy coins as usual as is happening now??

The fact it will in the future makes it difficult to mine with gpu or asic makes it no different  to the scrypt jane or even have QRK for anti gpu now??

So really again i see no point.

If you used the block explorer for this coin you would see a few wallets reaping most of the coins as with most other launches.

its not that easy to mine with botnets when still solo mining...so not botnets havent taken yet. and about VPS so what? people are paying to mine cause they give a value on the coin...its the same with every coin. And at least this coin unlike memorycoin didnt have a fail dev who premined 8+% of the coins....

If we don't get at least 3 pools for Vertcoin within the next 24 hours, this coin will get into serious trouble.

Difficulty keeps rising and demotivating many solo miners running typical home equipment very soon.

In order to keep this coin coming devs should setup or publish one pool by themselves and put out a bounty for two more pools quickly.

Just my 0.02 VTC   ;-)

11 now! Shocked

We need pools! Not one or two, but at least 3 of them. (remember the 51% rule...)

My client problem? Somebody with big guns took a break? I miss smth and there is simple explanation? Or this coin is screwed?
Network hashrate falls by ~6 Mh/s:

and back again after ~1 hour:

Before we can have pools we need cgminer or cpuminer adapted to the Vertcoin algorithm. I agree - it's certainly not too late to solomine yet, but it won't be long if the coin keeps attracting this kind of hashrate growth.

I'll put up an entire block of 50VTC towards a dev bounty if someone will get a pool-capable mining client out for VTC. Anyone else joining me?
