Hey fellow verters!Ofcourse we're all very happy about the current rise of Vertcoin. We've been the fastest rising coin for 3 days in a row now with the 24h increase reaching as high as 357% earlier today! And since you're all reading this i'm convinced you know everything about the awesome features Vertcoin has to offer when you compare them to LTC for example. But after reaching this much volume the rise probably hold for a while in a few days. And this is we're we (the community) should come in. We've got to start organising things to make people able to use VTC for practical purposes other than speculating on the value of the coin. We need to start Recruiting people with extensive technical knowledge to create trade platforms, we need people with a marketing background to keep promoting this coin by actively writing well-constructed articles about it's benefits in comparison to other coins. What we also need is people with graphical skills, creating infographics, banners, t-shirts and what not. And ofcourse we need to get more miners to get the network even more stable. To get all these things done we'll need well-educated people willing to dedicate alot of their time to this coin. To attract these kind of people i suggest we start a marketing & promotion fund to make sure we can compensate these people for their time and dedication to our project. Now to start i've got a few ideas wich i think can help this coin to get on it's way to replacing LTC or what the heck, even BTC. WebsitesCurrently there isn't really a way to actually spend and use your vertcoins. A platform should be developed to do all kinds of things with your coins, exchange for BTC/LTC and even directly to fiat, quick escrow services, a pay-pall specificly designed for vertcoin and some sort of e-bay where people can offer goods to be exchanged for VTC and VTC only. You could also think about lottery/casino websites for vertcoin where you could play games like poker/blackjack with your VTC. Social MediaWe should also start a Social-Media campaign promoting the pro's of vertcoin compared to the other cryptocurrencies. Social media will be especially important in the campaign to reach the mainstream public. ( At wich point known retailers will also start accepting VTC) Articles/essaysWe also need professional writers and perhaps journalists to promote the coin, they will be writing contructive posts about what whould be the benefits of using VTC as a currency. This campaign will be aimed at the well-educated people and ofcourse at possible investors. Ofcourse there are many more things we could do to promote the coin but i believe that if we put time/effort in these causes vertcoin will surpass any other Cryptocurrency and become the next standard. Let's get involved people and create REAL demand for our precious coin. I'd like to start the fund to make these great things happen right now to start these projects as fast as possible, for more information about myself check this topic. I know the price is fluctuating alot atm. But think a moment for yourself, would you rather own 100 VTC with a value of 5 dollar or would you rather own 90 VTC with a value of 10x or even 25x that amount due to awesome community effort? Start sharing and let's get this project going. Donations can be forwarded to this adress: Vn6rPFuEtAtcpaEKLRdGKYopDtE6cNvQBb I'll keep daily or even sub-daily updated about the amount of VTC in the wallet and the community will have influence about where we are going to spend it and how much by voting. Let's get VTC to keep going Vertical! For more information you can aways send me a PM or e-mail me on Fastpow@gmail.comCheers and keep up the good work! Michael Thank you very much for this great coin! I want to help as much as possible to promote this coin!

Hi,
While the extra 10-15 hashes is nice, running I20 on these 290's w/ modified cgminer will literally beat the shit out of your cards. If you are monitoring them, please observe that you probably have constant usage crashes to 0% and if you have the comp on a circuit w/ lights they will be pulsating. You also won't have a responsive desktop. I have a permanent artifact from one of my power surges due to this.
If you value your cards, please consider I17 rather than I20.
I was using afterburner/asus gputweak to monitor the settings so please confirm for yourself. . .mining vertcoin is not like mining litecoin.
Not sure what you mean with usage crashes, GPU usage stays at 100, so does hashrate and yes, lights do pulsate but I think this is due to the power outages in our country due to heavy ice rain tearing electricity cables. Desktop is responsive. What are you using to monitor your usage? Also, I was using kill a watt, and it was showing fluctuations from 600w to 950+w. . so they were definitely happening. Does your core clock drop at all? What's the rest of your setup like?

Well I have overall mined around 800 VTC..I have a rule that whatever I mine, 50% I sell and 50% I hold to get for electricity bill and until it pays-off for invested hardware..I sold ~300 for 0,0005 and 100 for 0,001.. I could have made much, but I'm still happy that I have another 50% Now I think I will just keep it and whatever I mine, keep too!

It only happens for me when using modified cgminer >I17. I can still mine regular scrypt using unmodded cgminer @ I20 with no fluctuations at all. The temps are all stable and within reason. . @70-75% fan speeds and 72-80C w/ 70F ambient temp. I did get one freeze yesterday, but I was still overclocking it too high @ 1075/1470. Now I've gone to 1000/1500 and they're happy for the whole night except sometimes I get a worker banned. I'm assuming it's from the ddosing happening at kilovolt but it could just as easily be due to a card starting to fail. What do you measure vram temps with?

I'm assuming it's from the ddosing happening at kilovolt but it could just as easily be due to a card starting to fail. What do you measure vram temps with? It happened to me on normal scrypt mining. I have elpidia and the reference cards are no problem, I was mining VTC in a pool with I20 like 2 weeks ago for 2-3 days and I don't have problems. I think Your card is damaged permanently and sooner or later it will die (I remember Your post about green line etc. few pages back). Temp measured by Gpu-Z..what card (brand, model ref, non-ref You have?)

vtcpool.co.uk keeps going down all the time Sorry, we think we have the problem resolved now. It has been down a lot - there were some configuration difference after an upgrade (we moved mysql to a separate server for performance reasons) and had some issues. No coins have been lost, and mining has continued 95% of the time, the frontend has been up and down quite a lot though. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Great work Boris! Much appreciated.
Thanks. Anyone else who has been affected - please be aware, I will write up a post-mortem of the issue shortly and post so you all know what happened. Hopefully, it will help any other pool operators whose pools get very big and need the mysql server hosting separately to avoid the issues I have had today.
