Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

any idea what are the best queue / scan-time / expiry settings for p2pool?

p2pool is stratum so scan-time and expiry will make no difference, you definitely want queue 0 though.

Hello Boris , why my worker VkmHTrMg5WDyuhpyaAiBkw7pd7uT7QRXnv on your p2pool have so much stale %?

Probably latency - what are your pings to vtcpool.co.uk like? If it's not latency, then it's almost certainly too-high intensity, or queue not set to 0.

Hi Bifius,

Can you please provide more details for the last fix (fix for ADL with R9 cards) for the R9 cards? I'm running 270x and 280x and was wondering how would my system benefit from this fix, more stable/better performance?

Thanks,
Deky

finally here it is

vertminer-0.5.3 released

windows build: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5n70hj3izjj64y1/vertminer-0.5.3.zip
github source: https://github.com/Bufius/vertminer-gpu.git

release notes:
Code:
Version 0.5.3 - 2 February 2014
- changed automatic TC calculation (again but still not finished / perfect...)
- increased max intensity to 21
- shaders are now used for intensity calculation
--> option shaders is set: intensity calculation tries to align to shaders count (can increase performance but also decrease with low intensity)
--> shaders NOT set: old cgminer intensity calculation is used
- opencl changed to keep speed with adaptive nfactor
- introduced first time dependent nfactor changes in code (not finally done yet)
- fix for ADL with R9 cards

Registrations re-opened at vtcpool.co.uk since nethash has gone up again. I'll be keeping a close eye on it though.

i am mining with p2pool and not getting paid since 7 hours.

the pool recognizes the address, everything appears to be in order. (shares accepted, etc).

any ideas?

I'm getting paid in clusters. It will pause for a few hours then all of a sudden I'll get 4-5 transfers, etc. Not sure what's up but when I get home from work tonight I'll be setting up my own instance of the P2P pool.

Same here. Didnt get a payout for the last 6 hours. How ironic i received the last one @ 13:37...

I am done with http://vtcpool.co.uk:9171/

So you're saying you can have the Intensity set too high? I am running `-i 19`. I'm seeing mostly accepted shares and a low latency but rarely any payouts. Could that be the reason? Is having a too high intensity "silently fail," etc?

Quote
Over the weekend, most cryptocurrencies feel in value by between three and 16%, but the widely-shared losses are still some way short of the heavy falls predicted in the wake of tighter Chinese regulations on bitcoin use.
Brought into place on 31 January - Chinese New Year - the restrictions were expected to prevent financial institutions and payment processing companies from dealing with bitcoin, forcing the value of cryptocurrencies down.
At the time of publication, bitcoin is down 3.5% at $808 (£493) per coin, according to CoinMarketCap.com, while Tokyo-based Mt Gox exchange is offering the currency at $925.
Litecoin is experiencing a similar dip, down 4.6% to $21.82 per coin, while dogecoin is down some 10.6% to $0.0013.
Bucking the trend is Vertcoin; only the 34th most valuable cryptocurrency by market cap, the currency saw gains of  71.8%, with it more than doubling in value in the last four days to $0.73 per coin.

--- >>> You should put a link to that article in the OP under "Articles" or "In the News" ^^^^

In all reality this coin may be the best coin in the game. It should replace Litecoin.
ASIC proof is pretty powerful stuff. And the coin just feels really good.
Not to mention the best website out there.

Hi Vertcoin

Can we get the latest article from International Business Times added to the original post please? Here's the link http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/cryptocurrency-news-round-newspaper-paywall-embraces-bitcoin-most-coins-lose-value-1434856

I see you are not setting shaders and setting I and TC.. but wasnt it told this version will set TC automatically and also set Intensity according to shaders?

POOL OWNERS

A script has been added to MPOS to enable you to cron automatically disable registrations when your pool becomes too big: https://github.com/MPOS/php-mpos/commit/a9b5643

Please update MPOS, change the file so you disable registrations _BEFORE_ you become 51% of the network, and cron php to run the script regularly.

Thanks a lot for clarifying, this doesn't apply to my cards then, since I don't have that problem.

Perhaps i was not clear enough: automatic TC calculation is only performed if no TC is set. Manual tuning is always the best (and then no automatic TC calculation is performed)
And for R9 280x cards, the new calculcation is the same as the old one. Only for cards with <> 2048 shaders the behaviour differs.

Is this coin still CPU? Can it be CPU solo mined or now someone needs a pool?

hi bufius

for r9 280x cards: are there better settings than 8192 threads?

thanks.

Here is my config

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://vtcpool.co.uk:9171 -u VkmHTrMg5WDyuhpyaAiBkw7pd7uT7QRXnv+0.00278 -p x --intensity 13 -w 256 --gpu-threads 2  --queue 0 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192

Maybe +0.00278 is too much? Speed of machine 2500kH
Latency 330/m
