Well, for the record i've stopped putting my spec mining time onto VTC... I'll hold onto what I have until the devs re-release this fix and see what happens to the coin & diff after that. Hopefully momentum will return, but i'd still like to see some more activity from the devs.

If anyone's interested in another coin that's similar, i've started putting some time on the rig to Microcoin.

Some similarities to VTC (CPU friendly), but it's a little easier to mine (Scrypt-Jane), it's on a couple of small exchanges and seems to have a good community behind it, plus one of my favorite pools (nut2) is backing it with a pool:

I like this coin

but that cgminer build is god awfull. Can't get HW=0 no matter what.(tried everything)

Sorry, but I'm not mining with hw errors.

lower intensity to -I 11 or -I 13 and even powertune -20, lower memory speed, raise the clockspeed and search the forums for an optimal thread concurrency for your card.

Hoe much votes do we need before it comes on cryptsy?

Man, cryptsy is no better than coinedup. In fact, i think it's worse.

The real move is Vircurex

Cryptsy is piece of ***, same as coined up.

Best exchanges are coinex.pw and bter.com... for me.. but vircurex can be also good..
I wrote email to bter admin today asking him if he adds VTC.. they already trade YAcoin there, which is kinda simillar non pure scrypt coin.. so big chance on bter I think..
This coin deserves better attention than it has today, coz nobody really checks coinedup because it is not even possible

I have to agree.. Bter would be awesome.  What's the best way to help get this up there?

With the current hash rate and difficulty we are 98 hours away from the next difficulty adjustment.   Undecided  Better make the KGW change sooner then later.

Why haven't more people voted to get VTC onto Cryptsy?  There have to be more than 151 VTC miners out there.  This would be awesome for the overall value as well as creating more of a feeling of legitimacy for the currency.  https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/64057/

Also, CoinedUp is terrible.

I don't understand coinedup. They are doing 100+ BTC volume a day. Charge 1% tx fee for just a DAY and go buy a friggin server or two. I realize the site is primitive anyway but this is 2014, keeping a site online is not that hard these days. Hell, host it with Godaddy I will pay the $20 a month myself.

I have never invested any time or money into bitcoins or altcoins because I was either too late to the party or the coins just seemed like a copy of bitcoin or litecoin. But it looks like you guys have something really special here and I can't wait to be a part of it.

I just installed my Verticoin wallet and I am about to take a crash course in mining, But I have read that with all the other altcoins my GTX 480 may not ever produce a coin, so what do you guys think, am I wasting my time attempting to mine Verticoin with a GTX 480?

btw If anyone is still donating Verticoin, here is my address:

coinedup drives me nuts. I would never go there, if not for VTC.
what a pity that this beautiful coin vertcoin is connected to such a depressive exchange.

Best thing I have seen in a while is coinmarket.io - smooth, clear, really fast.
And currently offline  Grin

@mr.pj - that's a good joke, appreciated Smiley.

Vert cgminer needs xintensity or raw intensity code, because the current code is not working right. With the current build, my 280x does not work with -g2 and -tc 8192, and these are the proper settings for a 2048 shader card.

Will not even discuss the difficulty. Wait until the coin is hit by 10 Ghs in this state, with no KGW

Difficulty adjustments are only 84 hours as designed! 98 is not so long.

KGW fork happening very soon - watch this space.

No, it's just variance. The hashrate shown in the client and on the pools is _calculated_, not measured. So if diff doubles (which it did) and blocktimes double as a result, the calculation will be off while things settle down.

I have been trying to set up an account at Coined Up for over 10 minutes... Are they always this slow to load pages? I am dieing to know what they are selling VTC for.

It happened what I described..Nethashrate was above 400mh/s now is 250mh/s..net round is close to 4min so next retarget will be in~ 5 days or more, I guess more people will stop mining in next 12-24h cause now it's not profitable..umtil You fix difficulty I'm off to mine something else.

p.s. DOGE is also preparing against ASICs

That is the _calculated_ hashrate

..net round is close to 4min

Which is why it's calculating the hashrate lower.

For me everythig is right..Right after diff retarget nethashrate was still high (+400) but then more and more miners left the ship, nethashrate dropped, rounds became slower cause difficulty was to high for current lower hashrate, estimated next difficulty dropped and it will settle down in ~5-6 days from now on next diff retarget. If You say I'm wrong then diff retarget should happen within 3,5 days as it should but it won't.
