Something to think about before dumping.

I have mined over 2000 LTC since May, and while I made a decent profit relative to my investment, I've been kicking myself for selling most of my 2000 LTC at prices that would make you laugh. Hey, $15,000 in extra income for a year sounds great on the one hand, but when it could have been $40,000 for six months of mining... well, I played it safe. Fine. VTC, I've got extra funds already and don't need to sell any time soon. Coinedup looks like this for the past ten days, and the only reason it took that long to determine value was likely due to the (needed) client update and implementation of KGW.

Holding my VTC for at least four more months before selling. By then, I ought to have in the neighborhood of 4000 VTC if things go as planned. And if VTC ends up hitting 0.05-0.10 BTC (which is my hope), that's a lot of money. :-D

Bastards DDoSing all the pools, also p2pool nodes are down. What gives ?
@coinbuzz: buying.

Been mining P2Pool uninterrupted since sunday, problems only seem to affecting pools atm.

Which one? I cant seem to find it and I've been getting interuptions all night on my current pool.

http://54.204.146.220:9171/static/

That is the P2Pool node i've been using,  that is their east coast node apparently and they have an option to switch to the west coast node if your are closer to the west on the top of the page.

I agree. Vertcoin is scryptASIC resistant and when this machines will come to market all the current scryptcoins (except 1-3) will go down. Miners will migrate to coins like Vertcoin like they migrated from BTC to LTC and later to other scrypt coins.

Hey fellow verters!

Ofcourse we're all very happy about the current rise of Vertcoin. We've been the fastest rising coin for 3 days in a row now with the 24h increase reaching as high as 357% earlier  today!
And since you're all reading this i'm convinced you know everything about the awesome features Vertcoin has to offer when you compare them to LTC for example.

But after reaching this much volume the rise probably hold for a while in a few days. And this is we're we (the community) should come in. We've got to start organising things to make people able to use VTC for practical purposes other than speculating on the value of the coin. We need to start Recruiting people with extensive technical knowledge to create trade platforms, we need people with a marketing background to keep promoting this coin by actively writing well-constructed articles about it's benefits in comparison to other coins. What we also need is people with graphical skills, creating infographics, banners, t-shirts and what not. And ofcourse we need to get more miners to get the network even more stable.

To get all these things done we'll need well-educated people willing to dedicate alot of their time to this coin. To attract these kind of people i suggest we start a marketing & promotion fund to make sure we can compensate these people for their time and dedication to our project.

Now to start i've got a few ideas wich i think can help this coin to get on it's way to replacing LTC or what the heck, even BTC.

Websites

Currently there isn't really a way to actually spend and use your vertcoins. A platform should be developed to do all kinds of things with your coins, exchange for BTC/LTC and even directly to fiat, quick escrow services, a pay-pall specificly designed for vertcoin and some sort of e-bay where people can offer goods to be exchanged for VTC and VTC only.

You could also think about lottery/casino websites for vertcoin where you could play games like poker/blackjack with your VTC.

Social Media

We should also start a Social-Media campaign promoting the pro's of vertcoin compared to the other cryptocurrencies. Social media will be especially important in the campaign to reach the mainstream public. ( At wich point known retailers will also start accepting VTC)

Articles/essays

We also need professional writers and perhaps journalists to promote the coin, they will be writing contructive posts about what whould be the benefits of using VTC as a currency. This campaign will be aimed at the well-educated people and ofcourse at possible investors.

Ofcourse there are many more things we could do to promote the coin but i believe that if we put time/effort in these causes vertcoin will surpass any other Cryptocurrency and become the next standard.
Let's get involved people and create REAL demand for our precious coin.

I'd like to start the fund to make these great things happen right now to start these projects as fast as possible, for more information about myself check this topic.

I know the price is fluctuating alot atm. But think a moment for yourself, would you rather own 100 VTC with a value of 5 dollar or would you rather own 90 VTC with a value of 10x or even 25x that amount due to awesome community effort?

Start sharing and let's get this project going. Donations can be forwarded to this adress: Vn6rPFuEtAtcpaEKLRdGKYopDtE6cNvQBb
I'll keep daily or even sub-daily updated about the amount of VTC in the wallet and the community will have influence about where we are going to spend it and how much by voting.

Let's get VTC to keep going Vertical!

For more information you can aways send me a PM or e-mail me on Fastpow@gmail.com

Cheers and keep up the good work!
Michael

Let's create some REAL value guys

Words of wisdom!  Made a mistake by initially selling half of my VTC today but when I realized, price was skyrocketing, I was luckily able to repurchase almost half of what I sold at a loss, but well worth it.  I now still have close to 75% of what I originally purchased and I intend to hold hold hold!

Very surprised (and happy) with the price. I mined for the first few days and got quite a few donations and then forgot all about it.

Looking at the specs, the 4 year reward halving is archaic. IMO it would be better served if there is a smoother reward decrease. Worldcoin, for instance, decreases by 1% every week.

THE VTC PRICE HAS NOW GONE DOWN ON CRYPTSY AND THEY'VE SUCCESSFULLY SCREWED MANY PEOPLE OVER WHO WERE LOOKING TO EXIST AT A CERTAIN PRICE POINT AND HAD NO OPTION TO DO SO AT ANY EXCHANGE BECAUSE THESE JERKS FROZE THE VTC DEPOSITS.

THE ONLY WAY THEY WILL LEARN IS IF WE ALL CONTINUE TO EXPOSE WHAT THEY DID!!

I was a actually suggesting implementing a smoother decrease through a hard fork, but heh, a copy is a great idea.

Long time reader first time poster...

I urge vertcoin miners to distribute more evenly on the available pools...until a few minutes ago Bitcrush.info was well above 60% of the total hashrate!

While I'm at it: A hearty FUCK YOU to all the pool DDOSers out there! I know it's Realpolitik in the cryptoworld but good grief...
