By the way, you all got double paid on one round of the payouts. What I think happened was, during all the confusion with SQL grinding to a halt, a payout cron-job has run, but SQL has been so slow, it didn't get logged as "paid" in the database before the next time the script ran. As a result, that payout was made twice. I have taken it in the ass for about $1150 at todays price - I had to send 315VTC to the pool wallet from my own private funds to ensure users payouts wouldn't fail on the next run:

http://explorer.vertcoin.org/tx/c2fc3f045e90e59da14ce3a6fe13abdcb7e7f9802dd3e2d8ee947e1fa0f74c92

Although I'd like to make it all up to you, and am happy to let it ride, this is a lot of Vertcoin to lose, and I have been working hard to try to maintain a high level of service, including these server upgrades which are costing me around $250 a month on their own, not to mention that this has been a full-time job for me the past few days with the constant need to keep up with network growth.

I chose to ran a pool, and as a result I have to deal with stuff like this, but if any of you are feeling particularly generous, and notice 2 payments very similar in size made to you around 15:30 (GMT/UTC) today which was when the double payout happened (they may also appear at a different time when they actually arrive with you - I'm not sure), I'd be hugely grateful if some of you might tip me a bit back: ViPBVm4sbXT38h9J23GkAWfNKiuPwVUYQX

Boris, another 2 VTC incoming.

I started on your pool, but switched to a p2pool fairly quickly.
Anyway, you're really doing a great job to support this coin and the community!

Thanks!

And thankyou too - you guys are great.

I mean $4+ is already quite expense for a new coin...how high could it go?

I'm not saying this necessarily applies to the price, because technical superiority is not a determinant of price (at least, not on it's own), but does anyone here doubt that VTC is better than BTC as a piece of technology? Satoshi invented something incredible, and few of us could do what he did, but we have the benefit of hindsight. This coin isn't just the new litecoin, I think it's better than Bitcoin.

I've just refreshed my dashboard on https://vertcoinheavyindustries.com/ and see other people's accounts - their balances, miners and hashrate. Security breach? Oh, and I can't use the contact form because it tells me that the captcha doesn't match, when there is no option to enter a captcha...

Sorry for the image size, I had to shrink to fit into a single screenshot even on 1920x res.

Thanks. It's showing mine again now but it doesn't inspire much confidence. The "Edit account" tab did show *my* details when I visited it (and requested to get my confirmed coin out!).

It is having a problem showing all my workers (4 of them) at times also.

Thank you for the alert. This was live for two minutes and has already been fixed. The offending configuration was caching the smarty templates. Templates are no longer cached and no more information should be leaked. I should mention that there was no way for a user to withdraw or alter another user's settings. Again thank you for reporting this and thank you Boris for warning as well.

Potentially yes, Vertcoin is building on a very good foundation and is being actively developed with new/proven features. Proper maintenance and active development are key to making something technically superior to it's competition, as a software developer I know this. But we must not forget the importance of other aspects as well, having a good product is not worth much if no one knows about it. This is where our dedicated and active community comes in.

I have a few ideas on how all of us can help and spread the word on Vertcoin, tonight I will post a few words on it and see what you guys think.

Boris, thanks for all your good work.

Hey fellow verters!

Ofcourse we're all very happy about the current rise of Vertcoin. We've been the fastest rising coin for 3 days in a row now with the 24h increase reaching as high as 357% earlier  today!
And since you're all reading this i'm convinced you know everything about the awesome features Vertcoin has to offer when you compare them to LTC for example.

But after reaching this much volume the rise probably hold for a while in a few days. And this is we're we (the community) should come in. We've got to start organising things to make people able to use VTC for practical purposes other than speculating on the value of the coin. We need to start Recruiting people with extensive technical knowledge to create trade platforms, we need people with a marketing background to keep promoting this coin by actively writing well-constructed articles about it's benefits in comparison to other coins. What we also need is people with graphical skills, creating infographics, banners, t-shirts and what not. And ofcourse we need to get more miners to get the network even more stable.

To get all these things done we'll need well-educated people willing to dedicate alot of their time to this coin. To attract these kind of people i suggest we start a marketing & promotion fund to make sure we can compensate these people for their time and dedication to our project.

Now to start i've got a few ideas wich i think can help this coin to get on it's way to replacing LTC or what the heck, even BTC.

Websites

Currently there isn't really a way to actually spend and use your vertcoins. A platform should be developed to do all kinds of things with your coins, exchange for BTC/LTC and even directly to fiat, quick escrow services, a pay-pall specificly designed for vertcoin and some sort of e-bay where people can offer goods to be exchanged for VTC and VTC only.

You could also think about lottery/casino websites for vertcoin where you could play games like poker/blackjack with your VTC.

Social Media

We should also start a Social-Media campaign promoting the pro's of vertcoin compared to the other cryptocurrencies. Social media will be especially important in the campaign to reach the mainstream public. ( At wich point known retailers will also start accepting VTC)

Articles/essays

We also need professional writers and perhaps journalists to promote the coin, they will be writing contructive posts about what whould be the benefits of using VTC as a currency. This campaign will be aimed at the well-educated people and ofcourse at possible investors.

Ofcourse there are many more things we could do to promote the coin but i believe that if we put time/effort in these causes vertcoin will surpass any other Cryptocurrency and become the next standard.
Let's get involved people and create REAL demand for our precious coin.

I'd like to start the fund to make these great things happen right now to start these projects as fast as possible, for more information about myself check this topic.

I know the price is fluctuating alot atm. But think a moment for yourself, would you rather own 100 VTC with a value of 5 dollar or would you rather own 90 VTC with a value of 10x or even 25x that amount due to awesome community effort?

Start sharing and let's get this project going. Donations can be forwarded to this adress: Vn6rPFuEtAtcpaEKLRdGKYopDtE6cNvQBb
I'll keep daily or even sub-daily updated about the amount of VTC in the wallet and the community will have influence about where we are going to spend it and how much by voting.

Let's get VTC to keep going Vertical!

For more information you can aways send me a PM or e-mail me on Fastpow@gmail.com

Cheers and keep up the good work!

This coin is so awesome. Fully supporting! Screw ASICs.

Finally something that not every idiot can mine and dump.

Keep in mind there are many investors who do not know about VERT yet.  This run up was so quick that many people are just noticing now.  When Big Vern lists the market open on Cryptsy's feed everything is going to go nuts.  Wouldn't surprise me at all if VERT breaks top 10 market cap in next 48 hours.
