What's the advantage of mining vtc in lower pool?

THIS

Nobody from my pool is going to tell you about the best kept secret because they are greedy and want all the coins for themselves.

But just look at those block percentages!!

VTC.DEDICATEDPOOL.COM

Benefits of Mining on DEDICATEDPOOL.COM

  • Backups every 30 minutes of the databases and wallets to protect your mining endeavours.
  • Full 24/7 support available at admin@dedicatedpool.com
  • Mine uninterrupted - dedicated servers w/redundancy, DDoS protection.
  • Trustworthy admins who care about your experience and mining.

but 2% fee and your widthdrawl rate is high  Sad

Better go to a "no fee" pool where they simply steal 10% of the blocks  Roll Eyes

Azure Vertcoin Pool - DDOS reisistant P2Pool Node

http://cryptopool.cloudapp.net:9171/

No registration - No minimal payout!
To connect to this P2Pool node simply point your miner at:

URL: stratum+tcp://cryptopool.cloudapp.net:9171
Username: Your vertcoin address
Password: Anything
     Fast facts

1. P2Pool nodes are all part of one single, big, distributed pool
2. When any p2pool worker on any node finds a block, everyone on all the nodes gets paid their share
3. There is no pool wallet, and hence no payout threshold. Payments go directly to your wallet
4. The distributed nature of p2pool resists DDoS attacks

Sample Vertminer configuration: cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://cryptopool.cloudapp.net:9171 -u VbNPoxNeiNg6Bj9RwjjS4GazDbKLgUqNDP -p X

Too much random comments without any proofs or arguments.

Vertcoin is seen as a good currency in a world ravaged by asic scrypt miners. We're are very far from it. So nobody needs vertcoin now.
Still, it could be a good currency, but they are very few support around it. Few apps, few merchants.
So, why should the price be high now ?

So my guess is a slow decreasing price for months until maybe a big asic scrypt miners hit.

Yes.  The ASIC scrypt miners are still in stealth operations.

Better use p2pool, where you mine with your own payout address and get directly paid in the found blocks. No way to steal anything from the pool.

And with 1000 CPUs?

(Let's assume 1000 different users want to mine VTC and then merge all the coins in one common purpose (a donation for a charity).
Could it be profitable?

Quote
Vilgem,

Out of sheer curiosity; how did you come to this conclusion?
A monkey in a Zoo told me this right after I had given her a pilled banana.
Script miners with n=1024 r=1 p=1 settings do need ~132000 bytes per thread. For example ATI R9 270x has 20 units, 256 threads per unit = 5120 threads in total. It requeires ~650 MB of memory. CGminer allocates more memory because GPU architecture is not perfect (per-unit local memory size is very limited and we need to deal with global per-gpu memory which can't be managed efficienly in a multithread execution).

If we talk about script ASICs then 1 GB of memory will roughly be enough for 8000 threads executed in parallel. It may give up to ~ 1Mh/s. Script ASICs are coming, it is only a matter of several months. And I'm quite sure they will be hardcoded for n=1024. When this happens, great over the world GPU computational power will have to shift somewhere from LTC. Somewhere where n=2048 (VTC) maybe Smiley Price will go up.

If you want this coin to succeed, there is a simple solution:

Provide a fork of cgminer, which can mine scrypt (--scrypt) and adaptive n-factor scrypt (--nscrypt). And provide binaries.

This coin needs more hashing power, but it is still very complicated to compile the vertminer for linux. Although I would call myself an advanced user, it still took me hours. No increasing hashing power = no rise in price.

Current state on the market analysis:

- hitting very low prices per coin at the moment
- hashrate is going through the roof
- volumes on the biggest exchange (cryptsy unfortunately for us) are going slimmer and slimmer

Call me crazy bit it smells like a rebound to me, whoever is doing the price dump is going to go tired of messing around with small amounts of coins available from spooked out ppl (keep holding guys)

Thoughts?

Wow! Paying on Amazon with VTC (yes, with digipay.io in between but I'm happy with that)!
Absolutely awesome!

Now I would buy more if Bitcoin.de would allow me to send my BTC! They're keeping(correction: holding it temporarily) it just like Mt.Gox, sigh.

Glad I'm mining as well.
