What's going on with VTC?! Is it being manipulated or did it already have it's 15 minutes and will be another coin that fades into oblivion?!
Nothing is happenning, price is at 4mBTC last few days, but BTC is falling which causes price to go down.

The internet provider turns off the server due to have 90k+ connections to the server. I will move to another internet provider soon after they turn on the server.

Nothing is happenning, price is at 4mBTC last few days, but BTC is falling which causes price to go down. Not a great time for any crypto. The volume on Cryptsy is very low too. A few large buy or sell orders can dramatically change the price. Everyone's hanging onto their VTC (as they can see it's value) but due to the low number of coins created (VTC is new), people hording, the price of BTC and the low number in trading circulation we're vulnerable to relatively few people controlling any given market.

Hi guys,
I was thinking of how can we prevent whales from manipulating the price of our coin. I believe the current problem is that between 55% and 65% of all vertcoin trade happens on Cryptsy which, from the very beginning didn't do our coin a lot of favors, starting from deposit holdups that happened at the very launch. So if someone wants to manipulate the price, all they have to do is put up sell walls on Cryptsy and the price will dip accordingly, and then they will buy cheap coins from the users who start to panic.
I guess, one way to prevent this from happening is diversification. We would need more exchanges that list our coin (preferably bigger ones), and whoever tries to manipulate the price will have to put in a lot of effort to simultaneously control multiple exchanges in order to do that.
Now I am willing to take initiative and drive the effort of getting vertcoin listed on more online exchanges, but before anything happens, I wanted to get your opinion on this. Do you think it's the right way to fight this type of problem? I would also like for more experienced users here to chip in as well, devs, OP, pool owners etc... Also, what other exchanges would you like to list VTC?
Ideas, suggestions, opinions, please...
Cheers, Deky
If VTC can get on btc-e.com & btc38.com everything would be done. I just now bought some VTC as this coin seems to be the only one that shows me a future. Anyone else?

Nothing is happenning, price is at 4mBTC last few days, but BTC is falling which causes price to go down. Hi VTC Crowd. Just thinking of switching to VTC from Doge. Love to whole anti ASIC/Multipool thing. Can any experienced GPU miners here just confirm these estimates. 8 GPUS, 5 x 7950, 1 x 7970 and 1 x 7990. Total in scrypt 5300k/h. So 50% less (front page estimate) for VTC = 2650 k/h. Using this calc , http://www.verters.com/vertcoin-mining-calculator , that will mean via pool/p2p about 21-22 VTC daily @ current 118 diff. Which is about 0.082-0.085 BTC daily (24hrs) ? Is this a correct rough estimate? Also, I'm only using MSI 7950 TF3 OC and 7950 Sapphire Vapour-X, MSI 7970 TF3 OC and MSI Generic 7990. Any ideas what k/h to expect from these on VTC? Thanks in advance. M (P.S. Looks like a ickle baby boy is on it's way for the weekend / Monday, Wife already in Hospital being monitored!)

Anyone else? +1 for more exchanges Ok, so you guys agree that this is a good idea. I asked the guys from coinmarketcap.com to include poloniex, vircurex and coinmarket.io to VTC market cap and they were kind enough to do it the same day. At this point, Cryptsy is holding ~ 50% of all VTC trades, so we will still need to push this number lower. I will wait for a few more responses and if the majority of people agrees that we need more exhanges and that this is a good idea then I will start a campaign of adding VTC all over the place, I will target primarily bigger exchanges at first.

I wish we could get away from cryptsy I'm convinced that the bungled cryptsy launch was them holding people's deposits/coins and selling them while the price was sky high, then re-buying at lower numbers and magically people's coins were deposited after they re-acquired them.. really don't like that exchange.. yes it gets the most volume but they're shady as hell.
