This is an easy one. Half the Bitcoin community like DigiByte, the other half don't so they are divided.
Whereas all of the DigiByte community like DigiByte, so they are united!  Grin

But everyone hates PayCoin2 so all are united on that point.  Cheesy

What if you could be part of the money printing process?
While a dollar might be sent from one person’s bank to a credit card processor to another person’s bank, DigiBytes are sent directly from person to person. You can help make this possible and receive new DigiBytes as they are created by donating your computing power to the network.

Awesome!

hmm...i was thinking "...you can help to make this...". but if you are able to say it in a certain manner, it can sound right.

everything else is fine in my opinion. because its going to be spoken and not read, its more flexible [in other words, don't have to obey some English Rules] and sentence-structuring doesn't need to be too perfect, as long as its sounds 'right'. i don't really know how to explain it. its more of when one uses the language more often, you will be better at knowing what is right and wrong.

Content wise for an introduction to Digibyte, i guess the Basic stuffs are all there.  Grin

just one problem though - "DigiBytes can even be sent over social media, helping to connect legacy business models with up and coming millennial consumers." i think many people wouldn't be able to understand what this means. for myself who have done lots of research about Bitcoin and Altcoins and their uses, i roughly know what it means. Tipping am i right? but i believed people who don't know a lot about cryptocurrencies and their uses, its difficult to understand that sentence. may want to rephrase it. To be frank, i myself don't really understand this part - "to connect legacy business models with up and coming millennial consumers.". Care to explain?

The younger generation, Born around 1990.
I agree with you that everybody needs to understand this and i think it needs to be adjusted/explained.

The new script is too long, too complicated, too convoluted, and too confusing. Ask yourself if you'd put it on the OP or the website, and if the answer is no, then ax it.

KISS: keep it simple stupid. Explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old (or your grandmother), and, whatever you do, don't be pretentious!

I prefer the first option a million times over (warts and all)!

I came across these 2 news items.

I really think that Digibyte is primed to enter this area. Allot of unbanked and the exchange rates right now are crazy high.

In three days, I have extensively researched the first 170 pages of this thread.  It has taken many hours so far.  In two weeks, I will reach page 774 (12th January 2015).  It is for the book on Digibyte planned to be released this year Tongue

Holy smokes!  I'm gonna have to hire someone just to keep up with this thread!  Cool

Been neglecting it but RL is keeping my busy but still mining away.

Gold mining season just around the corner so my PC time is limited.

Amazing work on that tip app, bravo!  Didn't try it myself but how many other coins have that?

--

That said, how many Byters would like to have a simple, promotional game for DigiByte?  Just 2D, nothing drastic... at first.

I think it would be a good way to get the word out... I think it's been discussed a few times (and with Jared) but just been so busy.

Until now, I will have free time I can donate to DGB in the next few months.

The coding and story telling, I can handle but the graphics, I can't... if it wasn't for a keyboard, no one could read my writing; forget pictures.

If someone is a good graphic designer who wants to donate their time and skill, PM and let's build a game!

Nothing drastic, mostly sprite drawing, that is, a picture taken from every angle (Front, back, left, right, left leg up, right leg up, etc)

Also, if some are good in cinematography or video editing then I could use those skills too.

The idea is to build a trilogy, the more successful the game, the more powerful features I can add in future versions.

I'm still very busy so if anyone is interested in being part in the game, PM me; if any want to donate to the project, the more features I can implement.

This is on a "As Time Permits" basis for me since it's intended to be a giveaway/educational game.

Anyone want in?  If enough show interest, we can go start our own group.

You are 100% correct IMO

Just be aware though that you need SMS transaction capability in Africa (and also Asia not to forget South America) to cover the unbanked population effectively.

Most of the unbanked don't have smartphones.  They mostly have cheap and simple phones with SMS being the main function - no data capability.

sending needs to be simply a text

SEND +639098176154 1000000 DGB

The simple SMS wallet and network solution is a centralised one - perhaps run by Digibyte.  This has the inherent risks involved with any centralisation.  The decentralised solution is very complicated.

So what would be perfect is:
Buy a simcard with Digibytes on it.
Pay your text message/phonecalls with Digibyte.
Pay everything with sending Digibytes using the sms network.
Send Digibytes from phone to phone with sms.
Add new Digibytes by buying,,, i just say something like a scratchcard filled with Digibytes.

I believe that could work - and relatively simple.

Requires a tailored sim card and printing/distribution of the DGB load scratch cards

and a telecom carrier in each country willing to support the DGB network (but better integrated into normal network of a main carrier)
