It´s maybe the algo that´s the problem. You could test Solo Mining using Scrypt Algo with your GPU - or install Wallet 4.0.3 on another Computer and sync this Wallet using "addnode=ip adress of your 6.14.2" for a real fast sync and test this. One problem could be Segwit as the the old wallet dosn´t support Segwit.
Thanks for the input, hallo_frosch. I was using skein when I tried it, and it seems weird that the server wouldn't work with all algos, but it's worth a try anyways. Gonna test it when I have the time. I had to go back to 4.0.3 to solo mine, no issues with that version. Updates on the issue of solo mining not working with the current wallet version (6.14.2)I've run tests with all algos with no success. In all cases, the local server appears as dead for all miners. Now, this would normally indicate incorrect IP/port configurations, but I'm using the exact same digibyte.conf file I use with version 4.0.3 of the wallet, the only changes being rpcauth replacing rpcuser and rpcpassword. With version 4.0.3 everything works fine. Looking at the debug.log file generated by the 6.14.2 qt running as a server, right at the start I found these lines which seem to indicate that something IS wrong somewhere: 2017-06-19 23:07:40 Binding RPC on address :: port 14022 failed. 2017-06-19 23:07:40 HTTP: creating work queue of depth 16 2017-06-19 23:07:40 No rpcpassword set - using random cookie authentication 2017-06-19 23:07:40 Generated RPC authentication cookie C:\Users\Pedro\AppData\Roaming\DigiByte\.cookieFor the sake of clarity, here are the relevant lines of my digibyte.conf file: rpcauth=MYUSERNAME:SALTSTRING$HASHSTRING rpcallowip=192.168.0.99 rpcport=14022 port=12024 txindex=1 listen=1 debug=0 maxconnections=15 algo=groestl (plus the addnode lines) If you've noticed the absence of a server=1 line, that's because I prefer running qt with -server as a parameter instead of including that line in digibye.conf, but I've tried both ways just to rule this out. Again, solo mining with this same config (and the previous rpc authentication method) works perfectly with qt 4.0.3. Any suggestions are welcome.

Solomining on new Digibyte core wallet v6.14.2
In Digibyte v6.14.2 "getwork" is gone. It now uses getblocktemplate. So if you want to mine on the new wallet you have to change your configs!
These instructions are for people that already know how to solo mine.
LINUX:Step 1. Generate an rpcauth code to put in your digibyte.conf file by going to this link https://github.com/digibyte/digibyte/tree/6.14.0/share/rpcuser and download and put the file in your digibyte root folder. Step 2. Run it by typing “python ./rpcuser.py [user]” ([user] can be what you choose to put in)It will show you something like this. “String to be appended to digibyte.conf: rpcauth=user:1335d15a52c8c24ef246b73bf4b9741$44d37ba0cb46191f11749c3217c7e497da5e01f8e8e01bd501bb35fbfcc0c9ba Your password: l147_CovTnVvV4P0W5p8qa1B5Gs88EDqMo5OI9Fmo8Y= “ Step 3. Remove rpcuser/rpcpassword from your existing digibyte.conf file. Step 4. Put the rpcauth=user:1335d15a52c8c24ef246b73bf4b9741$44d37ba0cb46191f11749c3217c7e497da5e01f8e8e01bd501bb35fbfcc0c9ba in your digibyte.conf file Use the password for your mining rig for example. -u user -p l147_CovTnVvV4P0W5p8qa1B5Gs88EDqMo5OI9Fmo8Y= WINDOWS:Step 1. You cant generate an rpcauth code because you need to install python first. So the easiest way ist to use existing rpcauth. Step 2. Remove rpcuser/rpcpassword from your existing digibyte.conf file. Step 3. Put the rpcauth=user:1335d15a52c8c24ef246b73bf4b9741$44d37ba0cb46191f11749c3217c7e497da5e01f8e8e01bd501bb35fbfcc0c9ba in your digibyte.conf file This is the digibyte.conf:
server=1 listen=1 rpcport=14022 rpcallowip=192.168.222.0/24 algo=qubit rpcauth=user:1335d15a52c8c24ef246b73bf4b9741$44d37ba0cb46191f11749c3217c7e497da5e01f8e8e01bd501bb35fbfcc0c9ba rpcallowip=192.168.222.0/24 => You can change this to your Network or only one IP in your LAN! algo=qubit => change algo you want to mine digibyte.conf file has to be in your digibyte folder. => C:\Users\accountname\AppData\Roaming\DigiByte Step 4. Change your bat or config for your miner! At this example i use algo=qubit so i want to mine qubit. I use the cpuminer. If you use other algo and other miners just read the help.txt which comes with your miningsoftware! This is the mining.bat for cpuminer:
cpuminer -a qubit --url=192.168.222.202:14022 -u user -p l147_CovTnVvV4P0W5p8qa1B5Gs88EDqMo5OI9Fmo8Y= --no-stratum --no-getwork --no-extranonce --coinbase-addr=D8i1mDnjqpXGwyCrFJT9qbSYuYtdoW7bJc Use the gernerated password and the user with the name user! -u user -p l147_CovTnVvV4P0W5p8qa1B5Gs88EDqMo5OI9Fmo8Y= INFO: -n, --nfactor neoscrypt N-Factor --coinbase-addr=ADDR payout address for solo mining --coinbase-sig=TEXT data to insert in the coinbase when possible --no-longpoll disable long polling support --no-getwork disable getwork support --no-gbt disable getblocktemplate support --no-stratum disable X-Stratum support --no-extranonce disable Stratum extranonce support --no-redirect ignore requests to change the URL of the mining server
p.s. big thx to twebit! I just wanted to say thank you reSI. I found your post very informative. I was even able to get the rpcuser.py to run on Windows to get my own rpcauth and password. I am hoping you or the community can provide some direction. I am unable to get my Antminer S7 to see the "wallet", for a lack of a better term. I have have spent a number of days Googling, but can only find references to the old getwork system and very little on the new blocktemplate system using IP based miners. Antminer: http://192.168.1.26:14022 (IP of Computer with wallet) Worker: Plainname Status: Dead. (RPC generated password in the miner config field). My digibyte.conf file: (located at: "C:\Users\Mary\AppData\Roaming\DigiByte") server=1 listen=1 rpcport=14022 rpcallowip=192.168.1.0/24 ***(Antminer IP is 192.168.1.103) rpcconnect=127.0.0.1 algo=sha256d rpcauth=MYUSERNAME:SALTSTRING$HASHSTRING addnode=IP (6 entries) The wallet (v6.14.2.0-4fbe88b-DGB) has 12 connections (In: 4 / Out: . I am hoping, once I can get the Antminer to see the wallet, than I can then move forward with getting bfgminer working. But after reading a post by the Irishman, I am not very hopeful at this point. I sincerely appreciate yours and this communities time. Thank you.

Well, sgminer doesn't have "no stratum" and "no getwork" parameters. Actually, turning stratum off seems to me like a bad idea, because even though the local server will be using long-polling, typically there will be other pools defined in sgminer.conf that are able to use stratum, which is useful because the local server will know faster that a new block has been discovered, in case any of the other pools detects it first. Anyways, the local server should at least be seen as alive by the miner, even if the miner is unable to connect to it for whatever reason.

Certainly I agree with you regarding slow growth. I just find it rather ironic that despite 4 years or so of Jared & the team laying all the solid groundwork and slogging away day in day out, it was hype buying that seems to have gotten DigiByte noticed in the crypto world. It's outside of crypto that DigiByte needs to be noticed though of course, and there will be no shortcuts there.

Well I'd say there is the short cut of, say 60 billion market cap But, that ain't gonna happen for a long time, so not really a short cut either. But true, ironic indeed that Digibyte got noticed for a "meme contest" and Digibyte gaming right about the time it went on hold. And still people don't understand why they should own Digibyte. I don't know what people want.

That looks awesome. Guess the next few days are going to be exciting for DGB holders! Jared can't even keep Digibyte Market's simple DGB-based shopping cart working, much less be bothered to shut down the site when it starts stealing money. Yet he feels entitled to run Citi's identity project? LAAAAWWWWL G. T. F. O. That's never going to happen. Not in a million years. Don't believe me? Go to https://www.digibytemarket.com/ and try to buy something. You will spend your coins and get nothing in return. If you try to use the online Help option, it fails. If you email info@digibytemarket.com it won't even acknowledge getting the email. That (along with the abandoned and probably insolvent Digibyte Gaming platform) is the essence of DGB. This is why you should learn to walk before trying to run. If you don't, you trip and smash your face all over the sidewalk. The coin should be renamed DinduByte or perhaps DingyByte. Per Jared in case you missed it; "Please note we have received thousands of messages across bitcointalk, twitter, telegram, Reddit & email this past week and we are trying to respond to people's questions and concerns as quickly and orderly as possible. We also have a few of us traveling at the moment preparing for upcoming events and meetings. We are working to consolidate marketing & tech information for new people in one place on digibyte.co. Organizing a new team, hiring people and preparing a new coordinated marketing strategy will take some time. We have had our heads down coding away on several projects up until this point. You must have the technology ready before people can use it. We are just about there now and are going to be shifting gears as well as expanding several projects and the team. Stay tuned and thank you all for supporting DigiByte." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- People don't listen to the fudders. Either they want cheap coins or just frustrated little bitches. Keep calm. More nice things to come.... Well they're getting cheap coins today. Looks like the frustrated little bitches have DGB in the toilet. My response to being called a "frustrated little bitch" because I dared to complain about Digibyte Market stealing customers' money has been deleted. So I'll repost it in a Scam Accusation thread. SCAM ACCUSATION: DGB Digibyte DigibyteMarket.com DigibyteGaming.com fly-by-night operations https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1979215.0Everyone be sure to thank Jared's white knight for instigating this outcome.
