Digibyte is now asic'ed Angry blake2s nist5 blake killed via dual mining now my-Groestl and Groestl is asic'ed as well what the f dude!

The devs and their friends are probably making a lot of money off their ASIC's so implementing new ASIC-resistant algos doesn't seem to be a priority.

https://i.imgur.com/XrIoM2j.jpg

Yes, it is difficult to switch to a new one when the old one works well. It takes more time for this.

what new one? there all gone but one x17 and even now my rig don't want to mine it anymore and that tells me its been asic'd too.

Looks like there's serious drama swirling in the DGB leadership. At best, a misunderstanding; at worst, it appears the community leaders and a minor YouTuber may be embezzling community-raised funds from the DGB community.

This post was deleted by the admins on DGB subreddit without any explanation. Similar stuff is floating around their Telegram. A real mess. Make of it what you will; I'm not the OP. Only posting here because I know it would just get deleted on their reddit, Telegram, etc.

Not trying to FUD; just trying to keep the devs honest. Community deserves answers.

--

Earlier today I noticed an exchange in the official DGB Telegram that left me very concerned for the well-being of this coin and the community-raised marketing funds. In the interest of transparency, I have screencapped all the messages in question and will be giving a synopsis here on reddit so the entire DGB community can see what is going on. I have documented everything and plan to post this message elsewhere in case it is taken down here on reddit.

Let me say at the outset that I hope this is just a big misunderstanding, but this sort of behavior is normally associated with less-than-reputable coin projects.

If you want to do your own research, you can browse the official Telegram channel for all the messages I post here: https://t.me/DigiByteCoin

---
Core team member and DGB Telegram admin Sinone reacted incredeously to the call for another round of community funding (ostensibly for the new wallets) - the Bounty Fund - arguing that there should still be funds leftover from the PR firm fund: https://imgur.com/cBRNMMp

Sinone receives a largely non-sequiter response from disovernow digibyte - who I believe is an admin on this subreddit - who starts talking about his kids and being retired and how he has given lots of money to DGB over the years. Very odd. Same image: https://imgur.com/cBRNMMp

Sinone elaborates on the situation, basically stating his access to the multi-sig wallet that houses the PR firm funds has been revoked(!). Major red flag. https://imgur.com/mDBCvgd

In an exchange with another user, Flo, Sinone further elaborates, explaining his access has been revoked to the wallet that only he and two others had access to. This essentially leaves all the community funds in the hands of two or less people at this point in time. This is highly unsettling and suspicous: https://imgur.com/RW8KJTt

This response from Patrick Wieland really bothered me. "No one's going to respond here lol," as if the DGB community doesn't deserve transparency. In what world is a YouTuber who arrived to the DGB scene a few months ago talking down to an admin and core DGB team member? Does Patrick have access to the community wallet? I appreciate all the shilling he's done for DGB, but this is highly unprofessional. https://imgur.com/hFToIEX

Even more disturbing, Sinone reveals he has tried to previously get an answer about this in private, but no one is responding. This is now beginning to look very scammy. Same image: https://imgur.com/hFToIEX

Patrick then expounds a bit on the situation with marketing, in a series of messages that are much more professional and enlightening. He implores people to be realistic about the amount of money they're working with, and says the PR firm is waiting for significant milestones before shilling DGB. But this begs the question - if the funds for development are being used for PR that is waiting for development, isn't this a cycle of non-action? https://imgur.com/wlcZIav

Sinone replies to another user about the situation, saying he's been left out: https://imgur.com/RXF9LZq

This is the last message I could find from Sinone. In it he says nothing has been resolved as of this time: https://imgur.com/VaiCN7C

---

All in all, I am now deeply concerned with the leadership of the DGB community. This is absolutely not the sort of exchange one wants to see happening between a core team member and other community leaders on the official Telegram. Combined with the fact that Jared has taken to bashing Binance and spreading bizarre FUD about their "shady business practices," I am now thinking of exiting my positions in DGB today (for a modest profit).

Something never sat right with me since the Binance drama, why it was just so hard for DGB alone to get on Binance, why the DGB leadership is so anti-Binance and push "insider information" they supposedly have about how corrupt Binance is, why they keep saying Binance won't be here in a year or two, and now this? It's simply too much. Binance, by the way, is being universally praised today for how they handled their hack yesterday... not exactly all that shady, it would seem. Can't tell you how thrilled I am the creator of DGB publicly made this coin an enemy of the world's most highly-regarded exchange at the moment...

I hate to FUD my own favorite coin, the one that could make me a very wealthy man, but there are now serious, unavoidable red flags popping up around the DGB space that need to be addressed. Jared, Josiah, Patrick et al. all seem like good guys who are trying to make DGB succeed, but this has given me serious doubts.

The Digibyte community deserves answers. What the hell is going on?

Someone woke up. You should be very proud if you can get out while it is .024 cents a coin and still not lose your shirt.

There is something fundamentally wrong with people that make statements like: "he's working his ass off" (referring to someone they supposedly hired for PR with those funds you talk about) and in the same sentence say "he's working 8 hours a day" as if that is a sure sign of commitment.

Are they that lazy where they think an 8 hr day working is some sort of concentration camp? Not volunteers but someone that is purported to be paid for their labor?

Wake up to the real world where a 14 or 16 hr day at work is still not enough time put in.

It is quite the laugh to read some of that on their telegram though. Comedy at its finest.

Wow, what a shame... I haven't been in this forum for almost a year and now I'm sorry I came back. FUD everywhere, newbies speaking about things they don't understand, Trolls all over the place. I still hold DGB but things are looking pretty sleazy. Can any of the old guard elaborate on the state of DGB?

Thanks to everyone here for supporting DigiByte and thank you for your concern.  The above issue has been resolved and was a result of miscommunication between several individuals. No one is embezzling funds. Many volunteers have donated their own time and money to get DGB where it is today.

For those that are new here please note the majority of the DGB community now interacts on Telegram and not on this message board. As always FUD rises when we experience market pullbacks. DigiByte is very much alive and there are several exciting things going on. New wallets, new exchanges and new marketing efforts. You can find out more here and where to get involved: https://www.digibyte.io/digibyte-community

We will be updating the foundation website with more information about current progress and updates over the next couple days to bring 100% transparency to the three donation funds we have started.

In the meantime please help us get a better idea of what algo people are actively mining on DGB by voting if you are a miner here in this Twitter poll: https://twitter.com/DigiByteCoin/status/972158933803683843

The team is hard at work on several exciting things. The DigiByte Foundation About & Team page has been updated: https://digibytefoundation.org/about

The DigiByte Foundation Donation page has been updated: https://digibytefoundation.org/donate

The very first comprehensive monthly expense and DigiByte Foundation update report will be listed here by the end of March 2018: https://digibytefoundation.org/digibyte-foundation-monthly-reports

Several other small updates have been made to DigiByte.io and DigiByteFoundation.org.

Can anyone tell me if this is for real, I've seen it on another altcoin tweet where you send 1 altcoin and get 10 back in return, now I see it in the DGB twitter. I always thought if it was too good to be true it usually is.

If you're not aware of these twitter scams yet, you really need to be. Seems just as many sockpuppet/scam tweets as regular ones from actual ppl. Plus, why would DigiByte be giving away ETH?

This is fake, please report these accounts when you see them. Always check the username, a dead giveaway is usually the username is 1 letter or character off and they have almost no followers.  On a daily basis, we are seeing people making fake DigiByte accounts and fake Jared accounts asking people to send ETH or DGB. Twitter really needs to address this as almost every prominent figure in the industry now has this problem.

The official Twitter account is @DigiByteCoin: https://twitter.com/DigiByteCoin

Can anyone tell me why this coin has so publicly made itself an enemy of Binance? Seems like a terrible business decision, especially as Binance is being universally praised and lauded for the responsibility they're bringing to the cryptoverse.

If you go on the DGB Telegram, you'll see admins posting bizarre FUD about "inside information" they have that Binance "won't be there in a few years." Anyone who asks about Binance is told they're a fraud and a scam. This is very weird. The CEO bashes Binance on Telegram and very publicly on Twitter, undermining the community effort to get DGB listed. They keep saying over and over again they've tried to get DGB listed, but it looks more like they just hate Binance.

It's kind of ridiculous an old coin like this somehow isn't on the world's most popular exchange four years on. It's a huge market that is being left completely untapped for what appear to be weird conspiracy theories on the part of the devs. Why is it so hard for DGB to get on Binance, when every single one of DGB's competitors have managed to do it? Something isn't right here.

Evidently Binance asked DGB to pay a $100k upfront fee to get listed. I don't know if I believe that anymore, as much FUD as these Digibyters sling about Binance. In any case, what DGB would gain in adoption and liquidity would be worth this fee x1000 times over. But no, let's have the creator sh*t on Binance some more publicly, ruining DGB's chances of gaining widespread use in the Chinese market.

Very odd case. It shouldn't be this hard. $100k to Binance is a lot more valuable than $10k to some fashion designer PR firm.

Why DGB dev give 100k$ bribe to binance? They can use these 100k $ for future development purspose and soon more better exchanges will launch and DGB will get listed there. DGB is 4 year old legitimate project, It does not need to pay any kind of bribe.
