@Bitcointate what will happen to the digibyte account???

Are you abandoning it?

It is still there and being used! Other team members log into it from time to time as well to post.

I have never used them. Think I made an account once, but never did any trading.

I gave it a try for 5 days but the results were bad because nobody joined me there and the pool hashrate didn't grow constantly. So I was solo mining most of the time. However, I had some goods results there for one day as "sammy" moved his 9MHs to pickaxe  Cheesy.

At the moment I'm getting the best results when I'm mining in the p2pool http://p2p.mine.bz:9024/static. I would suggest you to use a p2pool

Dev, you need to get rid of smalltimeminer pool off your list, his pools are gone, all of his damn pools are no more. He can't keep any of them up and should be delisted. He has 0 miners on his pools.

No worries, just multipool using the weakness of the retargeting time for difficulty.

Here is what devs said for friday:

"Update will be released around 7PM UTC time this Friday. (2PM Eastern / 11AM Pacific)
Here is what we would like to accomplish with the upcoming update:

1) Change block difficulty re-target to 1 minute to resist multi-pool mining & dumps to help steadily build the price.
2) Add transaction message support.
3) Update to latest version of Bitcoin/Litecoin client.
4) Reduce the block reward by 0.5% every 7 days starting at 8000 DGB."

UPDATE IN 19h

I'll be buying to help get the price going over the next 48H. Made a good amount mining and dumping Pandacoin.

If this is happening.. are they still planning to do a half every 2 years?

0.5%/week actualy gives a ~50% halves over 2 years, good question if they still keep it up or not.

The 0.5% reduction is used in place of the halving every 2 years.

Nice move - we should start seeing some steady price increasing from this. Thanks

@bitcointate/digibyte

Will we have to change the current p2pool networks.py files by any chance?
i'm just confirming even though i do understand that those digibyte values are independent of the retarget time and the block reward change.

I'm no p2pool expert but as far as I can tell only  https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav/blob/a8ac1d6ebe68d7565e34b58e6e30a002f99a0812/p2pool/bitcoin/networks.py#L920  should need to be changed.

As to what, i'm unsure but as soon as I help finish the last things for the update I will look into it
