Can't you just explain to me how to use Putty and modify the file I want to modify? Smiley

I basically need to do exactly what the pdf says I should do as I keep getting the NTPD error in my system log and the machine is not mining.

I can try, I am not the best with writing or describing.

First connect to the miner using putty by entering it's IP address

enter the user name which is root

enter the password which is user defined

enter this txt - vi /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh  this brings up the config and the ability to edit.

hit the "r" key, this enables the ability to write over current text. You must push "r" before writing over each piece of current text.

when down hit esc buttong then type a ":" and then type wq

then /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh restart should restart

EDIT: the above is not accurate. I would have to run it through myself to find out exactly

it would be a lot easier to let someone like  elastickband connect to your computer and set it up for you.
if you make a mistake you might not be bale to fix it

okay just a long shot here.

Try changing the DNS address's listed in the connection, don't use the reouter default. Use 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
this might solve your problem if you are connecting via cable?

and nothing else.
So how can I edit something that is not there?

BTW the miner is connected directly to the modem via cable.

are you attempting OC?

You have had the miner working without?

No OC, I am not planning on overclocking.

I need to modify a file in order to bypass the NTPD error as described here Page 2: https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1/blob/master/manual/AntMiner%20FAQ.pdf

you need to use a program called putty
if you are stuck i can help you out

I have got Putty but I don't know how to use it, so yes I AM STUCK Sad

Please help me Smiley

I fixed mine as described in sushi's setup guide by adding the ip's.

Is there anything we can do about UPS in terms of compensation?

As some of you are probably in the same batch as me going to the EU (shipped 21st or 22nd), we have got this message:

Mumbai, India    23/01/2014    17:59   A flight delay occurred because of aircraft mechanical reasons.

It has not moved since, the ETA still says end of today, but the tracking hasn't been updated so can't see it going from India to my house in the 7 or so hours.

This then moves it on over the weekend until at least Monday, which is basically .15 BTC lost (3 days mining).
