So I am guessing for all of us that want to order more miners that will be "next year" right? Smiley

Bitmaintech is showing the AntMiner as "Sold out" though on main page it reports "Shipping-out starts on Feb 8th.".

I hope new 1+ Th/s machines come soon from Bitmain as they continue to school other ASIC vendors with buy-now-ship-now.

I agree Kaega. New, faster, pay and they are on their way is a lesson that all the others should look to emulate. I hope they have something up their sleeves for their New Year to get us excited.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I am not pleased with the delivery of sub-optimal units direct from BitMain.  My sushi units were always "new" out of box, including that fresh electronic smell and none of my previous 6 had the extremely excessive paste issue.

However, the two units I received today, the 27th after ordering on the 21st, are below expectations and sadly a blow to my confidence in further buys.  They were double boxed and taped (unlike the single box from the Sushi GBuys).

FYI I ordered from both Sushi and Bitmain on this last order push "for science".  My last 3 orders arriving back-to-back different days were Sushi-Bitmain-Sushi and the very last unit (Sushi) arrived exactly as you describe - double boxed with too much goop, no serial number on the blades, the fan doesn't seem to start on its own and takes an unplug/replug to get moving.  Bitmain and Sushi also use the exact same UPS shipping account.  So I am sure these were just the very last units out the door before they shut down, and probably just pulled them off their "in use" shelf instead of building new ones...

In one of the early group buys I had a severely punctured cardboard box on one and another unit came with NO FOAM insert in the packing - just a loose ant in a box! (worked but with a fan-rattle and has the most jacked-up frame of my ANT collection)...

Definitely sub-par.  But you know what?  She mines just fine, all my ANTs mine just fine, I'm still a happy camper!

I am pretty sure that they will be having 2T miners soon.

Other Chinese manufacturers already announced it

Stack 5 ants together you have 1 TH/s. Some fancy form factor is not what makes a profit. A new PCB or chip that reduces power draw or improves price and performance is what is most important.

i had the 1TH idea too, even sketched a case to make them transportable
prob ist the draw of about 2kW - too much for 110V lines and barely ok in europe

besides, i only get 197 GH/s of my miners running at 400 Mhz
is this due to using Wifi? (one hosts the acces point the other is client)

Probably - I get 2-8% lower performance using built-in wifi depending upon the device.  A better solution is an external wifi bridge if you absolutely can't hardwire their connectivity.  A good one will be very dependable and you will have negligible loss due to wifi overhead.

the draw of about 2kW

My ants are only pulling about 760W with 2 of them on a platinum psu@230v, so it would actually be a bit below 2kw here in fancy Europe ;P

edit: at 200gh/s that is

I would suggest you contact elasticband and set up teamviewer on your pc.

Let him do his magic.
He got mine working within 10 mins, and we had a good chat as well.

On the Antminer, when you do the network ping tests you don't need either the leading protocol type (e.g. http://) and you don't need the port (e.g. :3333) you only need that info when you enter the pool address.

Right, so if you can't ping google.com from the network test page, then your Antminer's network is not setup correctly.

Make sure you can ping google from your computer command prompt or console, then get the following information from your computer, you should be able to get it either from ipconfig /all in a command prompt on windows or ifconfig from a console on mac or linux.

IPv4 address
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway
DNS Servers

You need to use that information and enter the correct parts of it into the Antminer's network settings for the WAN adapter.

IP address needs to be unique in the last 3 numbers, so don't use an address that is already used on your network (especially your own computers address) e.g. if your computer is 192.168.1.55 make sure you don't put the same IP on the Antminer.
Subnet Mask, Default Gateway & DNS Servers all need to be the same on the antminer as your computer

ok bro the ants WAN reads as

Protocol:          Static address
IPv4 address:   192.168.1.99
IPv4 netmask:   255.255.255.0
IPv4 gateway:  192.168.1.1
IPv4 broadcast: 192.168.1.255
Custom DNS:     8.8.8.8

my own info off ipconfig

IPv4 address:  192.168.1.xx    (which is on the same network as the antminer right?)
Subnet Mask:   255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254  (this is same for DHCP Gateway and for DNS Servers)

was it wrong for me to publish any of that info?  and I sent pm to elasticband but his not online... been at this for a while and im loosing heart  Huh
so the default gateway and DNS servers differ from the number reported in the antminer WAN settings, is this the prob?

besides that we can only use wifi in our rent-flat, the miners are all in the cellar
have a powerline plug there with one lan port and got a used 5-port switch today
but still need to get in the city first to buy the lan cables Cheesy

The ant needs the same default gateway as your network. The ant is set to 192.168.1.1 and it looks like your network is set to 192.168.1.254. Change the default gateway on the ant to 192.168.1.254. Default gateway is what routes from your internal network out to the internet.

No problem, thats internal network info nothing risky there.

Looks like you just need to change your Gateway and DNS servers on the Antminer to match your PC, so 192.168.1.254 which is probably your router address.

If there are still problems try 8.8.8.8 as the DNS server, but keep the gatway as 192.168.1.254

Your antminer is plugged into your router right? If so you should be good to go.

I PM'ed you re remote help if you need it.
