yes i agree, all drugs should be legal for people over 18.

Thankfully they're not and probably never will be.

There is enough misery and suffering in the World. We don't need crystal meth to be legal thank you.

I do think those who are already addicted should be treated like they have a medical condition though and not forced to break the law to get their fix

I don't know why you have to start bitching this great turn of events...

We got FOX news and BLOOMBERG TV coverage.

Is it the best publicity we could have? probably not, since they talk mostly on how they can use it to buy drugs on dark marketplaces.

But to be honest : aren't those those people the ones that need it most? their freedom depends on it!

The fact that they would choose to use Darkcoin for this use, which is their choice and not the primary reason why this coin was made, is huge and is good news.

If they die of an overdose because of the heroin or whatever they have bought, sorry to say but : thats not our problem!

he could have died of an overdose buying it in cash as well. or heck, he could have died being stabbed during the deal when he would have used cash.

So if you could please stop bitching about it and understand why we're happy about this, that would be great
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

maybe someone could tweet to him about it?

would be funny if it would appear in his next videoclip :p

So do you hate bitcoin too because of its past?

Are you really that delusional about the human's mentality?

Stay for the tech, not the people.

I don't hate Bitcoin or Darkcoin or any other cryptocurrency. I think they are incredible tools that have unfortunately (so far) mostly been misused by people for greed in one form or another.

I was simply stating I find it shallow to say it's good news that drug dealers will start using your currency. To me that's fucking bad news. I don't want those scumbags using it. I want people who value freedom of speech and privacy adopting it. That's why I believe in Darkcoin and I why I invested into it

So I'm the dumbass you're talking about. LOL
If you don't understand what the reason of posting the news and why Wired wrote an extra article for it, GTFO.
And I could give you in the ignored list. Thanks.

Wow, so much happening when I disappear for a couple of days!  I'm angry, I had a sell order in on bitfinex and it was too low!  LOL.  I wasn't watching things, and prices were so low, I didn't think it would go so high again so soon!  Ah well, I do have bills to pay, so no prob.

Just read about the proposed merger (only by looking up Evan's posts) so I'm sure there was quite a hoopla but I didn't read any of it, though I can imagine.  Well, time for bed.  Hope to keep up better here this weekend!  G'night!

That kinda proves my point... Alcohol is legal. I can easily go out and buy however much I want for not much money at all. So yeah of course more people die of it. It's the same with cigarettes.

If you introduced all the sick and twisted drugs into the general populace and made it as easy as buying alcohol I think society in a lot of countries would go to absolute shit.

Education at a young age and proper treatment for those already addicted is the answer in my view.

Giving the scumbags of the World a method to sell their garbage anonymously online to the vulnerable (for profit) is not

Just for the record. I'm not into the whole drugs thing.

I just want the privacy to order a Russian rubber dolly that will satisfy my craving for plastic love, and not have that broadcast to the world on the blockchain - the makers of my petite plastic Thai brides might get offended if they ever found out.

Uhm sorry to intrude in this nice thred, but the discussion started with the 16 year old overdosing on heroine thanks to drk services didn't it?

Now money (regardless of it being cash crypto or even some traditional financial transfer systems) is much easier to move than drugs.

Afterall everybody uses money, not that many travel with kilos of crystal meth in the bag. Plus as soon as a drug courier delivers the drug in any way he leaves a link that police can follow.

I don't think drk will make it much, if any, easier to actually smuggle drugs, anon money= drug money sounds more like an old-shool conservartive argument that sees any form of human right as an impedance to the Holy Establishment authority...

I'm not blaming Darkcoin. I'm saying if you're anything of a decent human being you don't think a site selling Class A drugs to anyone and everyone is "good news". And certainly not good news because the value of your fucking cryptocurrency increases.

What's so hard to understand about that?

so you're saying we should make alcohol and tobacco illegal and force them into treatment? kinda like "straight inc" or pol pot and the reeducation camps right?
i don't know man, sounds like some kind of statist prohibitionist authoritarian nightmare.

i don't know man, sounds like some kind of statist prohibitionist authoritarian nightmare.

Now you're taking an absolute extreme opposing view to try and make your point.

No where did I state alcohol or tobacco should be illegal and people should be forced into treatment. Hell, my issue here isn't even about making drugs legal, or forcing addicts to seek treatment.

It's about the scumbags of the World being given the ability to prosper by selling dangerous shit as they please. No real age checks. No quantity restrictions. Nothing.

If you can't see how serious questions of morality are raised by that then I think you need to take a long look in the mirror.

That's the last I'll say on the topic

With the current price of cocaine at about $61k per kg in the UK I'm not sure Darkcoin is much use to a real drug lord if he wanted to use it for a proper sized shipment. He'd have to own every single coin!
