Masternode payments 45% have arrived ...

Shame no one betted me because they would have free Dash by now by saying after 16.11 PM, looks like the block came in slightly later than expected   Grin

O well, we could always have a mano a mano bet on some pivotal block number like 300,000 , though thats gotta be some way away yet, lol.

Its was only for 1 Dash, I believe Stonehedge's was something like 28,000 !!!
Think is better if we are really going to bet to make it between ourselves and then at least 1 of us wins, although don't make it too
much because then there could be animosity created (betting whole masternodes would be silly wouldn't it)
Suggest we could create a pot and bet on a sporting event or something for a laugh.

So sorry, but last time there are a lot of announcements and a little of implementations.

When I read the entire post (which people usually should do, you know: to get the whole picture) it's very clear Evan is making a proposition of an idea rather than a concrete announcement and clearly states that it's too early to publish anything:

Quote
I make no promises about this idea working though, I’m very early in the research stages, but it does look quite promising. If it works, it means we have solved the ultimate problem with Bitcoin and have made this technology accessible to the whole world. This strategy is just too good to let sit for very long and I need to do some exploratory coding to prove it works.

Quote
Masternode Blinding is NOT part of this release, while it’s in the code, it’s currently disabled. It’ll take a bit more work to complete and we were running out of time before the March 25th deadline, so it’s being moved to the next release.

Has Masternode Blinding been demonstrated to work on the test net?  If not, it's just more vaporware.

It shows poor planning on the part of THE DARKCOIN FOUNDATION INC to spend time writing the Blinding feature without realizing 'oops, this thing breaks a lot of other stuff.'

Quote
Evan is making a proposition of an idea rather than a concrete announcement

IOW, all the lofty talk of competing with Bitcoin Paypal (thanks vertoe) with NEW&IMPROVED! features is just hype and bullshit.

I was holding off on dropping a new Windows wallet build until I could include the escrow manager.  If you want a build sooner let me know, I can do one with the I2P stuff.  The code is already up in github.

The issue with darksend is that there is a hardcoded collateral address in there, which I find a little scary.  I want to look at it and evaluate it before making that stuff visible in the UI again.

jase there are a couple of ways to achieve connection encryption like that.  We use something like that under the hood for the escrow orchestration and market infrastructure.

Glad other devs are finally addressing this, havent really ever seen it be discussed. There is some very sketchy stuff going on in the depths of the darksend code, I suggest all you investors dive deeper and take a look

Good to see dash going down... I'll be able to buy an masternode soon  Grin

Careful waiting too long, there are some heavy buyers out there as well as the usual 'dumpers', I remember last time at this price
a certain person scooped up the bottom sells and sent the price flying up for weeks, am seeing some fairly big buy back ins around the 0.0110 -0.115 btc mark, particularly on bitfinex and those are only the ones we can see!
Good luck with your masternode, see you on the Big Map  Grin

OMG, the more you examine Dash the more shitty it turns out to be!

I guess this is yet another example of what vertoe meant when she said 'the centralization reaches deep into the code.'

The hardcoded collateral address is also another reason why THE DARKCOIN FOUNDATION INC qualifies as a money-transmitting service, although they have thus far blatantly ignored the laws/rules/regulations required by such a business.

If I'm reading this right, it's defined here:

https://github.com/dashpay/dash/blob/master/src/darksend.h#L339

and looks like this in the explorer:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dash/address.dws?Xq19GqFvajRrEdDHYRKGYjTsQfpV5jyipF.htm

Any info on what happens to the funds sent there?

I'm assuming we're referring to addresses:

Xq19GqFvajRrEdDHYRKGYjTsQfpV5jyipF
y1EZuxhhNMAUofTBEeLqGE1bJrpC2TWRNp

With the first not having activity since July 31, 2014 and the latter with no activity. I could be wrong, but these could be part of the legacy DS before all collateral and fees went to the network.

If you're referring to something else, I'd love to know where.
