I know the devs have choosen a logo and design concept for Darkcoin, and I do not wish to steer any controversy about it. However, I have a concept in mind that I would very much like to try out, and would hence like to offer a bounty of 10 Darkcoins, to prominent designers that i've seen in this forum, such as Sigi, Kaene, and others for trying to realize this concept design. I can transfer the coins immediatelly to a bounty fund or the devs themselves.
I have made a VERY VERY VERY limited illustration of the concept I have in mind here: link: wowgwow.com/my-drk-attempt2.PNG
The idea is to have some kind of rope/chain inside the letter D. The rope curls and twists to form the letter K, and by doing so gives a sense of the ropes [coins] merging, shuffling, and separating back, each to its own direction.
I believe a good execution of such concept might strengthen the association of Darksend feature with the coin logo and name.

why is everyone talking about raw hashrate and not talking about WU rate?
it boggles my mind...
so does anyone have good config for r9 290 / r9 270 that gives good WU rate? i can care less about raw hashrate...
What rate do you consider good? This is not scrypt where the formula goes like 92.5% of the khashes. It's totally different. From observation, I'd say DRK WUs are playing in the 0.015-0.018 range per megahash. its a very good question which WU is good, takes time to find out

Perhaps phm who knows the code can tell us what is the theoretical maximum WU we should be reaching for (?)

Hashrates are about 1200-1300 khash/card for clocked 6870s and 5850s. Power consumption, with scrypt coins, is near the max of the cards at 170-190watt. Power consumption with dark is unknown because dark consumes less power and I haven't measured it. It is however significantly lower (as one can hear from the fans, or see from the temps) than scrypt.
I have a slightly clocked 6870 and when mining other coins my whole system consumes 245W while mining Darkcoin it only needs about 205. So you can say DRK decreases the power consumption of the card by 40W.

Is this about right?

If there is a new webpage, can we get a press pack together? The first place journalists will go is ' The crypto coin of the underground is born'. We would want to head that off by putting in a prepared article for editors that people can copy / paste and let them edit their own take. It also means we can frame the conversation.

I know tor is a mixing service of sorts, dark wallet will be a 3rd party wallet, and I have no idea how that will work. Any coin can use tor, so that's nothing special. Darkcoin hides from the blockchain, all addresses and therefore protects the user's privacy period. From the wallet, decentralized, 99% obfuscated (with 1% unknown)

I've been mining for the past couple days now and I'm just not satisified with my 4DRK/day anymore. I'd like to purchase some DRK but I don't have any BTC, so is there any convenient method to buy DRK directly?
Would sell directly, but we're probably both not in the northeast us. c-cex has USD/DRK market

At least when trying the SEPA option in Europe. That is why I am not using this site. Does someone know alternatives?

If the I2p patch was brought over to Darkcoin, then nodes could completely exist within the Darknet.
