iCoin or iCash - logo: an apple without the bite taken out of it, maybe in black... I know you're just free balling with this and it has a degree of tongue-in-cheek about it, but let's be careful, the whole notion of what Darkcoin is and what it represents could get terribly mixed up with association to Apple's markings.

Guys, you need to carefully reread Evan's chat log where he first mentioned the instant transaction system. I'm almost certain it doesn't involve masternodes, for several reasons:
1) He says that it won't require Bitcoin to hard fork. How could you implement MNs into the protocol, plus instant transactions, without a hard fork? 2) He clearly says that he has found a way to make Bitcoin transactions instant...he then mentions that it is fully compatible with DarkSend and so will work with Darkcoin. But it's clear from his wording that the system is designed and intended for Bitcoin, first and foremost.
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/possible-darkcoin-press-release-rc5-open-source-instant-transactions-kristov-code-review.2399/#post-21184It doesn't require US to do a hardfork, because we already have masternodes

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/possible-darkcoin-press-release-rc5-open-source-instant-transactions-kristov-code-review.2399/#post-21184From the horse's mouth: "Evan Duffield, lead developer of Darkcoin, intends to release a white paper on September 19 detailing a new technology called 'Instant Transactions'. This technology will allow for crypto-currencies such as Darkcoin to compete with nearly instantaneous transaction systems such as credit cards for point-of-sale situations while not relying on a centralized authority. If successful, such an idea could revolutionize cryptocurrency, by shortening the delay in confirmation of transactions from as long as an hour (with Bitcoin) to as little as twenty seconds"
Edit: It's not for Bitcoin

Edit: It's not for Bitcoin Yes, I stand corrected. Instant Transactions is for Darkcoin ONLY, per Evan.

If you want a demonstration of WHY Darkcoin is better than any other crypto. Go download Bitcoin, Litecoin, Peercoin, Dogecoin or anything else and try to sync from scratch. This is why we have 900 enterprise servers servicing Darkcoin. It creates an exceptionally healthy peer-to-peer network.
Also, we'll get 1 million new coins per year from here on out (decreasing by 7% per year), which my model (working on a new Darkcoin whitepaper) show will add about 100-200 extra Masternodes a year. Consider as the network grows, so will our ability to service it.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the fact that the price of DRK does not currently reflect that we are near open source AND will likely have instant transactions.
The buy opportunities of the last few weeks will likely never be seen again. I hope most of you were strong enough to hold or better yet, continue to accumulate.

Yeah, no kidding. Just to drive this point home, if you look at the Masternode count alone, Darkcoin has 8% of the total node count of the entire Bitcoin network. It has achieved almost 10% of Bitcoin's node count in as little as ten months compared to Bitcoins five years. Plus, the Darkcoin network also provides an incentive to node operators compared to other currencies. (Bitcoin included) Solving the "Why host a full node if I don't get anything from it?" problem. For the second part, the deflation curve is beautiful. Instead of doing a sharp halving every five years, there is a nice gradual curve causing no shock to the supply of the currency. Well thought out and one of the few serious competitors to Bitcoin itself in my opinion. Well done Evan, well done.

Guys,
I hadn't opened my Mac wallet for a few weeks, and got a warning about potential loss of data for my encrypted wallet.
Just wondering if there is a new wallet that solves this issue and if I have to follow a specific procedure or just update?

Well thought out and one of the few serious competitors to Bitcoin itself in my opinion. Well done Evan, well done. The incentive also makes possible to require things from node operators (as long as it is enough). Software updates or the need for better hardware are no longer a problem. Volunteering is great. Market is better.
