To do so would cost the attacker more money that the exploit would be worth. And where exactly are you going to pick up 3000000DRK in a hurry even assuming you had the $1bn+ that doing so would likely cost you?

Many impressive features become possible after implementing the transaction locking system and consensus system into the Darkcoin network. These include a considerable reduction to the size of the blockchain, a completely backwards compatible architecture and instantaneous transactions from clienttoclient without waiting for a confirmation.
It's like he launched a new coin today! Holy wow

To do so would cost the attacker more money that the exploit would be worth. Lets not rule out the irrational nutcase trying to ruin DRK. Even then, if Vertoe couldn't get hold of 47K DRK without turning heads yesterday...how on earth is anybody going to get hold of 3m DRK?

Much faster MN consensus on transactions also inherently secures against all double-spend shennanigans as it greatly reduces the window of opportunity. You now have a few seconds to pull off a heist, not (sometimes many) whole minutes.
Actually, it completely eliminates double spending from being possible. Consensus requires a set of masternodes to agree that a transaction will be considered valid by the network, if they do the whole network honors it. It's as good as block confirmation. And if the merchant doesn't see the instant validation, then they know something is funny and should wait for block confirmation. Can you ask Kristov his input (privately or publicly, doesn't matter) on possible vectors that aren't immediately apparent for the proposed system and things that could make it fail?

So we all get rich selling our DRK to the super rich villain(s) then launch Darkcoin 2.0 - and the price would need to go way higher than $50 to secure millions of DRK.

There are less than 5 mil DRK in existence -- getting 2/3rds of owners to sell to one entity is unrealistic (and would push the price literately to the moon). That pie in the sky "attack vector" is not a reason to shy away from the MAJOR advantages of this system. Anybody else psyched for instant denomination?

Good luck trying to get hold of 3000000 drk I'm not selling for anything less than 10,000. Try to get that many DRK; the price would rise exponentially! #getintothedark@TaoOfSatoshi

You cannot acquire 3M Darkcoins, that is the whole coin supply outside of masternodes, there would just not be a peer to peer currency anymore the attacket would have to attack himself. Plus you cant estimate a purchase of that size with a fix price like 50 USD it is not economically feasible the demand would be extreme and the price would have to go to the thousands no doubt. Maybe is a feasible attack on a young Darkcoin clone, maybe, but definitely not in Darkcoin.

This is going to get fun once the traders realize this isn't a sell the news situation.
Do you really believe there are traders capable of realizing this?
