Did you guys know that the dollar note is in fact named "Federal Reserve Note" ?

So, people call their money "dollar" because that's what they called their money for centuries...
But it's not the official name of the money, which is FRN.

What I want to say with this is.... I see the name Darkcoin as nothing more than the official project name.
Project goal: trying to create a fully functional anonymous online ecash.

I am confident that if Darkcoin becomes mainstream and is used by the masses, a new name for this currency / payment-method will arise to describe the new layer on top of the underlying protocol called Darkcoin.
Much like people talk about the WorldWideWeb (www) and not HTTP, although the latter is the underlying protocol for www.

So we should really not care about names, people will call their money whatever they like, ... something will emerge, and the masses will have the last word.

What if in 10 years large parts of spanish speaking south americans use Darkcoin protocol but prefer to call the currency obscuro, or "scuro"?

Why not? It's the peoples money and they decide what to name it and how to use it.

I have a question that´s been bothering me for sometime now. Every time there is a drop in bitcoin price almost all the alts go to red and darkcoin stays green as long as other are droping. As soon as it turns around all others are green and drk goes down. This has happened over and over again for the last few months. Anyone got a good theory about this?

But even if this changes and people call it something else, who cares?

I have no problem with this.

You know, there will come a time when cryptocurrencies will be so widespread, and the wallet handling will have become so easy, people who are not technical they will not even have to mess with Addresses like XtAdMy5nSxArut6rKKLQXxm84rpJNipXib... it will all be much easier and use additional higher layers that make everything more approachable.

Dollar is. It came from the german word Taler.
Plata is, coming from the spanish word for silver/money.

I am 100% sure that all those project names we come up with now on the fly are completely meaningless in the long haul. Ofcourse they are. Memes will be created that better reflect what billions of people want.

People will look into the sourcecode of CREDITS and find remnants of the words Darkcoin and Masternode.

When Darkcoin goes opensource we will soon have 10 new developers, 10 new Evan Duffields joining the team.

They will all come up with new ideas, better / other / additional methods, and we the users can just relax and sit back and enjoy the most innovative currency out there.

Those developers will come up with new principles that will require new names....

So names are going to evolve over time. It will happen.

Completely agree ('opportunity to add') but I still think we see the .007xxxxx region again within the next week (ie after Evan's white paper) before we zoom upwards more so. I'm willing to bet on that.
