I think we all need to relax with regards to the block reward distribution. Have you all stop to think that maybe the reward needs to be adjusted to incentivize what the network needs at each particular stage of development. We are building the foundation for the instanttx and darksend to be robust.
Without those features Darkcoin would just be another clone with no future. But we are not, as people are interested in these technologies and in these uncertain times for BTC the fact that we actually offer something original is what is going to keep us alive.
Block reward is not the property of any type of service provider, yes historically in other coins there hasnt been other type of services worth rewarding other than mining but that is changing as new valuable services develop, is just evolution.
It is a self balancing system and the network will find its equilibrium. Defining a plan now and giving a phased reward schedule helps people plan and decide how they want to participate or not.
Adoption is really important too and the dev team knows it and they are making efforts in that direction. Evan has always made decisions with the best interest of Darkcoin in mind and never has short term price been an element of consideration and is not now either. Is his ability to make unpopular decisions what makes this coin interesting to me, like when he reverted RC3 or when masternode reward was originally introduced. Darkcoin is evolving nicely and people are intrigued by its novelty. So I say lets give this a chance and focus on promoting our vision.

Wow. BTC/USD trading is crazy. It's all over the place.
The order book doesn't stay still long enough for me to read it - it's just a blur.
The price tanked to 286 in about 10 minutes, then stood still for minute after which a total smash and grab begun with people snapping at every drop of liquidity on offer no matter it was 5 dollars away. We're almost back at $300.
A few people will be needing pacemakers after this.

Well said. Certain parties also seem to forget that if increasing the MN split increases the number of MN's, MN owners aren't actually going to be any better off than they are now. Accusing anyone in favour of a fairer split of simple greed is thus a bit daft. |

OK, now that I have caught up to the discussion, I would like to say that it pleases me very much to see all of these Newbie non-troll accounts lately. It shows that interest is growing, and more people on board help bring even more people on board, until the network effect reaches a tipping point.
